Susret na vrhu zemalja istočne Azije u tajlandskom gradu Pattayi odgođen je u subotu zbog prosvjeda u njegovoj okolici, objavile su tajlandske vlasti.

 

Više od 2.000 protuvladinih prosvjednika, koji traže ostavku tajlandskog premijera, natjeralo je vlasti da odgode početak azijskog summita zbog sigurnosnih razloga.

Prosvjednici nezadovoljni tajlandskom vladom već su tijekom jutra onemogućili održavanje sjednice između ministara vanjskih poslova Kine, Japana i Južne Koreje.

Sudionici prosvjeda su čelnicima zapriječili izlaz iz hotela, nakon čega su se uputili ka mjestu održavanja summita, sukobivši se sa skupinom političkih neistomišljenika. Dvije skupine su bacale kamenje i dimne bombe jedna na drugu, oko tri kilometra od mjesta skupa.

Glasnogovornik tajlandske vlade Panitan Wattanayagorn na tiskovnoj konferenciji je rekao da je summit odgođen, ali ne i otkazan.

- Čelnici su odlučni u nakani da održe susret na vrhu. Obaviješteni su o prosvjedima. Želimo im zajamčiti sigurnost i nadamo se da će se skup nastaviti - dodao je.

Sastanak na vrhu istočne Azije okuplja deset zemalja članica Saveza zemalja jugoistočne Azije (ASEAN, Indonezija, Malezija, Tajland, Filipini, Singapur, Brunej, Mianmar, Kambodža, Laos, Vijetnam) te Kine, Japana, Južne Koreje, Indije, Australije i Novog Zelanda.

Na skupu se trebalo razgovarati o trgovini, gospodarstvu i regionalnoj sigurnosti.

Susret na vrhu zemalja istočne Azije u tajlandskom gradu Pattayi odgođen je u subotu zbog prosvjeda u njegovoj okolici, objavile su tajlandske vlasti.

 

Više od 2.000 protuvladinih prosvjednika, koji traže ostavku tajlandskog premijera, natjeralo je vlasti da odgode početak azijskog summita zbog sigurnosnih razloga.

Prosvjednici nezadovoljni tajlandskom vladom već su tijekom jutra onemogućili održavanje sjednice između ministara vanjskih poslova Kine, Japana i Južne Koreje.

Sudionici prosvjeda su čelnicima zapriječili izlaz iz hotela, nakon čega su se uputili ka mjestu održavanja summita, sukobivši se sa skupinom političkih neistomišljenika. Dvije skupine su bacale kamenje i dimne bombe jedna na drugu, oko tri kilometra od mjesta skupa.

Glasnogovornik tajlandske vlade Panitan Wattanayagorn na tiskovnoj konferenciji je rekao da je summit odgođen, ali ne i otkazan.

- Čelnici su odlučni u nakani da održe susret na vrhu. Obaviješteni su o prosvjedima. Želimo im zajamčiti sigurnost i nadamo se da će se skup nastaviti - dodao je.

Sastanak na vrhu istočne Azije okuplja deset zemalja članica Saveza zemalja jugoistočne Azije (ASEAN, Indonezija, Malezija, Tajland, Filipini, Singapur, Brunej, Mianmar, Kambodža, Laos, Vijetnam) te Kine, Japana, Južne Koreje, Indije, Australije i Novog Zelanda.

Na skupu se trebalo razgovarati o trgovini, gospodarstvu i regionalnoj sigurnosti.
