Broj zaraženih omikronom ubrzano raste u mnogim zemljama - a s njim raste i broj lažnih tvrdnji poput one da je veća vjerojatnost zaraze kod cijepljenih nego kod necijepljenih. Za to se često koriste podaci iz znanstvenih studija. Novinari portala DW ispitali su dva konkretna primjera.

Institut priznaje grešku u objavljenim podacima

"Njemačka vlada je priopćila da je 96 posto slučajeva ljudi zaraženih omikronom bilo cijepljeno", piše jedan korisnik na Twitteru.

Internetom kruži navodna grafika Instituta Robert Koch s podacima od 21. studenoga do 27. prosinca 2021. Prema toj grafici je 69 posto ljudi zaraženih omikronom u Njemačkoj bilo potpuno cijepljeno, njih 27 posto čak je primilo dopunsko 'booster' cjepivo, dok je samo četiri posto zaraženih novim sojem je bilo necijepljeno. DW je istražio koliko je istine u ovim brojkama.

U odgovoru na upit novinara spomenutog portala, glasnogovornica Instituta Robert Koch je napisala da grafika iz njega nije došla, kao i da su točne brojke objavljene u tjednom izvještaju od 30. prosinca 2021. godine.

"Zapravo je dio tjednog izvještaja, nažalost, sadržavao pogrešku (umjesto 186 bilo je 1.097 necijepljenih osoba zaraženih omikronom)", napisala je glasnogovornica navodeći da je tijekom ažuriranja podataka jedan broj zaboravljen, što je ispravljeno 3. siječnja 2022. godine. Ova ispravka jasno je navedena u aktualiziranom izvještaju.

"U svakom slučaju, objavljeni podaci nisu prikladni za izračunavanje učinkovitosti cjepiva", napisala je glasnogovornica, pozivajući se na stranicu Instituta Robert Koch na kojoj se navodi da se s rastom broja cijepljenih osoba može očekivati i sve veći udio cijepljenih među oboljelima. Osim toga, učinkovitost cjepiva nije stopostotna, ali u velikoj mjeri provjereno štiti od ozbiljnog toka bolesti.

Također je jasno da s rastom broja zaraženih, raste i broj zaraženih među cijepljenima. Uostalom, 71,6 posto ljudi u Njemačkoj (podatak od 7. siječnja 2022.) potpuno je cijepljeno.

Treća doza značajno povećava zaštitu

Prve studije pokazuju da cjepiva ne štite tako dobro od omikrona kao od infekcije drugim varijantama. Međutim, rezultati također pokazuju da imunizacija određeno vrijeme vjerojatno može zaštititi od razvoja teškog oblika bolesti.

Ima još dobrih vijesti - rezultati prve međunarodne studije pokazuju da dodatno 'booster' cijepljenje značajno povećava zaštitu. Studija proizvođača Biontech/Pfizer čak je došla do zaključka da su tri cijepljenja u slučaju zaraze omikronom jednako učinkovita kao i dva cijepljenja protiv prvobitne, divlje varijante virusa.

Njemački virolog Wolfgang Preiser, koji je među prvima i otkrio omikron, također potvrđuje učinkovitost dodatnog cijepljenja u intervjuu za DW.

- Važno je da mi u Južnoj Africi nismo vidjeli gotovo nijednu cijepljenu osobu na odjelu intenzivne njege - naglasio je Preiser i dodao da su cijepljenja pružala dobru zaštitu od teškog toka bolesti ili smrti, što znači da su ona i dalje važna u borbi protiv koronavirusa.

Danski podaci također pogrešno protumačeni

Kritičari cijepljenja trenutno se također često pozivaju na studiju iz Danske, koja navodno pokazuje da cjepiva BioNTech/Pfizer i Moderna protiv omikrona nakon tri mjeseca čak imaju negativan učinak.

Korisnik Twittera piše: "Vjerojatnost zaraze omikronom veća je za 76,5 posto kod osoba cijepljenih BioNTechom nego kod necijepljenih, a kod osoba cijepljenih Modernom za 39,3 posto".

Spomenuta studija, koja još nije pregledana i potvrđena od strane drugih znanstvenika, bavi se pitanjem u kojoj mjeri ta dva cjepiva štite od infekcije omikronom. Procijenjena učinkovitost u studiji rezultat je usporedbe stopa zaraze dvostruko cijepljenih i necijepljenih u prvim tjednima nakon otkrivanja ove varijante u Danskoj.

Statistička odstupanja koriste se za manipulacije

Uistinu, u studiji ne samo što nakon tri mjeseca opada učinkovitost cjepiva BioNTech/Pfizer i Moderna, već ona ide u minus. Tu je činjenicu za DW prokomentirao koautor studije i epidemiolog na Statens Serum Institutu u Kopenhagenu Christian Holm Hansen. Prema njegovim riječima, negativne vrijednosti su rezultat "statističke devijacije (iskrivljenosti)" odnosno odstupanja.

- Jedan od razloga zašto vidimo veću incidenciju kod cijepljene populacije je taj što se ljudi koji su primili cjepivo vjerojatno češće testiraju od onih koji nisu - smatra Hansen. Zbog toga se među cijepljenima otkriva veći broj inficiranih.

Osim toga, samo cijepljene i oporavljene osobe smiju putovati ili sudjelovati u manifestacijama i događanjima – pa je veća vjerojatnost da će se tamo zaraziti. Ali to ne znači da je veća općenita vjerojatnost da će se zaraziti jer su cijepljeni. To su naglasili upravo tvorci sporne danske studije.

Osim toga, i u Danskoj je cijepljeni udio stanovništva znatno veći od necijepljenog. Tamo je, prema podacima od 5. siječnja 2022., u potpunosti cijepljeno oko 79,46 posto ljudi.

Osim matematičke iskrivljenosti, studija ima još jedan nedostatak. Ona, naime, samo ispituje koliko se ljudi zarazilo, bilo cijepljenih ili necijepljenih - ali ne radi razliku između blagog i teškog oblika bolesti.

Zaključak

Ukratko, podaci iz Njemačke i Danske ne dokazuju da cjepiva ne djeluju protiv omikrona i da se ovom varijantom korone češće zaraze cijepljene osobe. Rezultati tih studija se koriste manipulativno. Zastupa se teza protiv cijepljenja.

Točno je da su odobrena cjepiva manje djelotvorna protiv omikrona nego protiv drugih varijanti koronavirusa - ali ipak nude relativno dobru zaštitu od teškog toka bolesti. Početne studije također pokazuju da dopunska 'booster' cijepljenja uveliko povećavaju zaštitu od zaraze i opasnosti da pacijent završi na odjelu za intenzivnu njegu i umre, piše DW.

Broj zaraženih omikronom ubrzano raste u mnogim zemljama - a s njim raste i broj lažnih tvrdnji poput one da je veća vjerojatnost zaraze kod cijepljenih nego kod necijepljenih. Za to se često koriste podaci iz znanstvenih studija. Novinari portala DW ispitali su dva konkretna primjera.

Institut priznaje grešku u objavljenim podacima

"Njemačka vlada je priopćila da je 96 posto slučajeva ljudi zaraženih omikronom bilo cijepljeno", piše jedan korisnik na Twitteru.

Internetom kruži navodna grafika Instituta Robert Koch s podacima od 21. studenoga do 27. prosinca 2021. Prema toj grafici je 69 posto ljudi zaraženih omikronom u Njemačkoj bilo potpuno cijepljeno, njih 27 posto čak je primilo dopunsko 'booster' cjepivo, dok je samo četiri posto zaraženih novim sojem je bilo necijepljeno. DW je istražio koliko je istine u ovim brojkama.

U odgovoru na upit novinara spomenutog portala, glasnogovornica Instituta Robert Koch je napisala da grafika iz njega nije došla, kao i da su točne brojke objavljene u tjednom izvještaju od 30. prosinca 2021. godine.

"Zapravo je dio tjednog izvještaja, nažalost, sadržavao pogrešku (umjesto 186 bilo je 1.097 necijepljenih osoba zaraženih omikronom)", napisala je glasnogovornica navodeći da je tijekom ažuriranja podataka jedan broj zaboravljen, što je ispravljeno 3. siječnja 2022. godine. Ova ispravka jasno je navedena u aktualiziranom izvještaju.

"U svakom slučaju, objavljeni podaci nisu prikladni za izračunavanje učinkovitosti cjepiva", napisala je glasnogovornica, pozivajući se na stranicu Instituta Robert Koch na kojoj se navodi da se s rastom broja cijepljenih osoba može očekivati i sve veći udio cijepljenih među oboljelima. Osim toga, učinkovitost cjepiva nije stopostotna, ali u velikoj mjeri provjereno štiti od ozbiljnog toka bolesti.

Također je jasno da s rastom broja zaraženih, raste i broj zaraženih među cijepljenima. Uostalom, 71,6 posto ljudi u Njemačkoj (podatak od 7. siječnja 2022.) potpuno je cijepljeno.

Treća doza značajno povećava zaštitu

Prve studije pokazuju da cjepiva ne štite tako dobro od omikrona kao od infekcije drugim varijantama. Međutim, rezultati također pokazuju da imunizacija određeno vrijeme vjerojatno može zaštititi od razvoja teškog oblika bolesti.

Ima još dobrih vijesti - rezultati prve međunarodne studije pokazuju da dodatno 'booster' cijepljenje značajno povećava zaštitu. Studija proizvođača Biontech/Pfizer čak je došla do zaključka da su tri cijepljenja u slučaju zaraze omikronom jednako učinkovita kao i dva cijepljenja protiv prvobitne, divlje varijante virusa.

Njemački virolog Wolfgang Preiser, koji je među prvima i otkrio omikron, također potvrđuje učinkovitost dodatnog cijepljenja u intervjuu za DW.

- Važno je da mi u Južnoj Africi nismo vidjeli gotovo nijednu cijepljenu osobu na odjelu intenzivne njege - naglasio je Preiser i dodao da su cijepljenja pružala dobru zaštitu od teškog toka bolesti ili smrti, što znači da su ona i dalje važna u borbi protiv koronavirusa.

Danski podaci također pogrešno protumačeni

Kritičari cijepljenja trenutno se također često pozivaju na studiju iz Danske, koja navodno pokazuje da cjepiva BioNTech/Pfizer i Moderna protiv omikrona nakon tri mjeseca čak imaju negativan učinak.

Korisnik Twittera piše: "Vjerojatnost zaraze omikronom veća je za 76,5 posto kod osoba cijepljenih BioNTechom nego kod necijepljenih, a kod osoba cijepljenih Modernom za 39,3 posto".

Spomenuta studija, koja još nije pregledana i potvrđena od strane drugih znanstvenika, bavi se pitanjem u kojoj mjeri ta dva cjepiva štite od infekcije omikronom. Procijenjena učinkovitost u studiji rezultat je usporedbe stopa zaraze dvostruko cijepljenih i necijepljenih u prvim tjednima nakon otkrivanja ove varijante u Danskoj.

Statistička odstupanja koriste se za manipulacije

Uistinu, u studiji ne samo što nakon tri mjeseca opada učinkovitost cjepiva BioNTech/Pfizer i Moderna, već ona ide u minus. Tu je činjenicu za DW prokomentirao koautor studije i epidemiolog na Statens Serum Institutu u Kopenhagenu Christian Holm Hansen. Prema njegovim riječima, negativne vrijednosti su rezultat "statističke devijacije (iskrivljenosti)" odnosno odstupanja.

- Jedan od razloga zašto vidimo veću incidenciju kod cijepljene populacije je taj što se ljudi koji su primili cjepivo vjerojatno češće testiraju od onih koji nisu - smatra Hansen. Zbog toga se među cijepljenima otkriva veći broj inficiranih.

Osim toga, samo cijepljene i oporavljene osobe smiju putovati ili sudjelovati u manifestacijama i događanjima – pa je veća vjerojatnost da će se tamo zaraziti. Ali to ne znači da je veća općenita vjerojatnost da će se zaraziti jer su cijepljeni. To su naglasili upravo tvorci sporne danske studije.

Osim toga, i u Danskoj je cijepljeni udio stanovništva znatno veći od necijepljenog. Tamo je, prema podacima od 5. siječnja 2022., u potpunosti cijepljeno oko 79,46 posto ljudi.

Osim matematičke iskrivljenosti, studija ima još jedan nedostatak. Ona, naime, samo ispituje koliko se ljudi zarazilo, bilo cijepljenih ili necijepljenih - ali ne radi razliku između blagog i teškog oblika bolesti.

Zaključak

Ukratko, podaci iz Njemačke i Danske ne dokazuju da cjepiva ne djeluju protiv omikrona i da se ovom varijantom korone češće zaraze cijepljene osobe. Rezultati tih studija se koriste manipulativno. Zastupa se teza protiv cijepljenja.

Točno je da su odobrena cjepiva manje djelotvorna protiv omikrona nego protiv drugih varijanti koronavirusa - ali ipak nude relativno dobru zaštitu od teškog toka bolesti. Početne studije također pokazuju da dopunska 'booster' cijepljenja uveliko povećavaju zaštitu od zaraze i opasnosti da pacijent završi na odjelu za intenzivnu njegu i umre, piše DW.
