U Indiji je izgrađen najviši željeznički most na svijetu. Od Eiffelovog tornja viši je 35 metara, a nalazi se 359 metara iznad rijeke Chenab u indijskoj regiji Jammu i Kashmir.

Nakon desetljeća izgradnje, most Chenab sjevernoj Indiji bit će otvoren za posjetitelje do kraja prosinca 2023. ili u siječnju 2024., objavilo je Ministarstvo željeznica u priopćenju za javnost u ožujku, piše CNN.

Most dug 1.315 metara dio je šireg projekta koji Kašmirsku dolinu treba učiniti dostupnom mrežom indijskih željeznica. Uz most Chenab, projekt željezničke veze Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla (USBRL) uključuje ono što će postati najduži transportni tunel u zemlji i prvi kabelski most Indijskih željeznica.

Za indijskog premijera Narendru Modija, koji je došao na vlast 2014. zahvaljujući nacionalizmu, ulaganja u infrastrukturu poput mosta Chenab i šireg projekta željezničke veze mogu se smatrati moćnim alatom za društvenu integraciju i političku integraciju.

"Most i veću povezanost koju on treba stvoriti, New Delhi će projicirati kao još jednu veliku pobjedu za razvoj regije", rekao je Michael Kugelman, direktor Instituta za južnu Aziju u Wilson centru.

Povezivanje Kašmirske doline s ostatkom Indije vlakom posebno će potaknuti regionalni industrijski i poljoprivredni sektor omogućavanjem željezničke povezanosti između doline i ostatka Indije u svim vremenskim uvjetima, kažu stručnjaci.

Prethodno je jedina kopnena ruta koja je povezivala dijelove Kašmira pod indijskom kontrolom s ostatkom zemlje bila vijugava 300 kilometara nacionalna autocesta Srinagar-Jammu, koja se zatvara tijekom dijela zime, a također je često mjesto prometnih nesreća.

"Imamo mnogo problema dok prolazimo cestom", rekao je za CNN Anil Kumar Mehendru, potpredsjednik New Kashmir Fruit Association. “Kada budemo povezani vlakom s ostatkom Indije, to će biti veliki poticaj za našu industriju, poljoprivredu kao i voćarstvo", dodao je.

Indija je 2019. opozvala ustavnu odredbu kojom je dijelu Kašmira pod indijskom kontrolom dala autonomiju da postavlja vlastite zakone. Južni i istočni dijelovi regije ranije poznati kao indijska država Jammu i Kašmir postali su dva odvojena sindikalna teritorija, potez za koji je Modi tvrdio da će promicati stabilnost, smanjiti korupciju i potaknuti gospodarstvo.

"Poruka New Delhija, nakon tog poteza, bila je da će iskoristiti svoj veći stupanj kontrole nad Jammuom i Kašmirom kako bi mu donio veće razvojne koristi", rekao je Kugelman. "Koristit će most kao podatkovnu točku visoke vidljivosti, koja privlači pažnju kako bi dokazala da njegova strategija funkcionira."

Iako je cjelokupni projekt uspostavljen 2002. prije nego što je Modi postao premijer, most Chenab već se reklamira kao glavni primjer njegovih napora da proširi razvoj u zemlji.

U tijeku je i izgradnja zapadnog namjenskog teretnog koridora, čiji je cilj rasteretiti željezničku mrežu Indije.

U Indiji je izgrađen najviši željeznički most na svijetu. Od Eiffelovog tornja viši je 35 metara, a nalazi se 359 metara iznad rijeke Chenab u indijskoj regiji Jammu i Kashmir.

Nakon desetljeća izgradnje, most Chenab sjevernoj Indiji bit će otvoren za posjetitelje do kraja prosinca 2023. ili u siječnju 2024., objavilo je Ministarstvo željeznica u priopćenju za javnost u ožujku, piše CNN.

Most dug 1.315 metara dio je šireg projekta koji Kašmirsku dolinu treba učiniti dostupnom mrežom indijskih željeznica. Uz most Chenab, projekt željezničke veze Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla (USBRL) uključuje ono što će postati najduži transportni tunel u zemlji i prvi kabelski most Indijskih željeznica.

Za indijskog premijera Narendru Modija, koji je došao na vlast 2014. zahvaljujući nacionalizmu, ulaganja u infrastrukturu poput mosta Chenab i šireg projekta željezničke veze mogu se smatrati moćnim alatom za društvenu integraciju i političku integraciju.

"Most i veću povezanost koju on treba stvoriti, New Delhi će projicirati kao još jednu veliku pobjedu za razvoj regije", rekao je Michael Kugelman, direktor Instituta za južnu Aziju u Wilson centru.

Povezivanje Kašmirske doline s ostatkom Indije vlakom posebno će potaknuti regionalni industrijski i poljoprivredni sektor omogućavanjem željezničke povezanosti između doline i ostatka Indije u svim vremenskim uvjetima, kažu stručnjaci.

Prethodno je jedina kopnena ruta koja je povezivala dijelove Kašmira pod indijskom kontrolom s ostatkom zemlje bila vijugava 300 kilometara nacionalna autocesta Srinagar-Jammu, koja se zatvara tijekom dijela zime, a također je često mjesto prometnih nesreća.

"Imamo mnogo problema dok prolazimo cestom", rekao je za CNN Anil Kumar Mehendru, potpredsjednik New Kashmir Fruit Association. “Kada budemo povezani vlakom s ostatkom Indije, to će biti veliki poticaj za našu industriju, poljoprivredu kao i voćarstvo", dodao je.

Indija je 2019. opozvala ustavnu odredbu kojom je dijelu Kašmira pod indijskom kontrolom dala autonomiju da postavlja vlastite zakone. Južni i istočni dijelovi regije ranije poznati kao indijska država Jammu i Kašmir postali su dva odvojena sindikalna teritorija, potez za koji je Modi tvrdio da će promicati stabilnost, smanjiti korupciju i potaknuti gospodarstvo.

"Poruka New Delhija, nakon tog poteza, bila je da će iskoristiti svoj veći stupanj kontrole nad Jammuom i Kašmirom kako bi mu donio veće razvojne koristi", rekao je Kugelman. "Koristit će most kao podatkovnu točku visoke vidljivosti, koja privlači pažnju kako bi dokazala da njegova strategija funkcionira."

Iako je cjelokupni projekt uspostavljen 2002. prije nego što je Modi postao premijer, most Chenab već se reklamira kao glavni primjer njegovih napora da proširi razvoj u zemlji.

U tijeku je i izgradnja zapadnog namjenskog teretnog koridora, čiji je cilj rasteretiti željezničku mrežu Indije.

U Indiji je izgrađen najviši željeznički most na svijetu. Od Eiffelovog tornja viši je 35 metara, a nalazi se 359 metara iznad rijeke Chenab u indijskoj regiji Jammu i Kashmir.

Nakon desetljeća izgradnje, most Chenab sjevernoj Indiji bit će otvoren za posjetitelje do kraja prosinca 2023. ili u siječnju 2024., objavilo je Ministarstvo željeznica u priopćenju za javnost u ožujku, piše CNN.

Most dug 1.315 metara dio je šireg projekta koji Kašmirsku dolinu treba učiniti dostupnom mrežom indijskih željeznica. Uz most Chenab, projekt željezničke veze Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla (USBRL) uključuje ono što će postati najduži transportni tunel u zemlji i prvi kabelski most Indijskih željeznica.
