Nakon brutalnog čina policajca Dereka Chauvina i smrti Afroamerikanca Georgea Floyda, prosvjedi na ulicama Amerike posljednjih dana ne jenjavaju. Slika bijelog policajca koji koljenom pritišće vrat nemoćnog crnca na ulici obišla je cijeli svijet i ponovno pokrenula pitanje koje stoljećima muči mnoge građane SAD-a - pitanje rasizma.

Priča o Georgeu Floydu obišla je cijeli svijet, a zbog nesretne sudbine i lažne novčanice od dvadeset dolara njegovo ime još će se dugo vremena spominjati. Njegova smrt potaknula je mnoge da progovore o gorućem društvenom problemu s kojim se američko stanovništvo pokušava boriti već stoljećima, a svoj je sud iznio i vlasnik trgovine čiji je prodavač pozvao policiju tog kobnog dana.

Mahmoud Abumayyaleh, vlasnik prodavaonice Cup Foods, čiji je zaposlenik pozvao policiju 25. svibnja nakon što je posumnjao da George Floyd pokušava kupiti kutiju cigareta lažnom novčanicom od dvadeset dolara, nakon cijele situacije duboko je zažalio zbog poteza svog prodavača.

Nakon cijelog niza događanja, u kojima je Floyd izgubio život, Mahmoud je apsolutno osudio djelovanje američke policije i brutalnu silu koju 'predstvanici reda' koriste. Inače, državna politika Minneapolisa zahtijeva da svatko tko primijeti da netko koristi lažirane novčanice odmah pozove policiju, no nakon nedavnog događaja koji je potresao svijet, mnogi razmišljaju drugačije.

Drugačije razmišlja i Mahmoud Abumayyaleh, koji u trenutku poziva nije bio prisutan u trgovini, no shrvan je zbog nastalog događaja.

- Želimo podijeliti svoje osjećaje o onome što se dogodilo i dovelo do smrti Georgea Floyda, koji je hladnokrvno ubijen. Srećom, cijeli događaj je zabilježen i treba postojati određena odgovornost onih policajaca koji su bili uključeni - rekao je Abumayyaleh u intervjuu za Grio.

Vlasnik trgovine Cup Foods Mahmoud Abumayyaleh svoj je stav o događaju iznio na svome Twitter profilu, a naišao je na razumijevanje i podršku ljudi.

Abumayyaleh je između ostaloga izjavio da kao vlasnik trgovine više nema namjeru uključivati policiju u nenasilne incidente koji se budu događali unutar njegovog privatnog prostora, a mnogi su ga u toj ideji podržali.

Lokalna trgovina

Abumayyaleh je u zajednici poznat kao Mike. Njegova obitelj već 30 godina posjeduje trgovinu Cup Foods, koja se nalazi na uglu 38. i avenije Chicago - ovo je prvi i jedini posao koji je ikada radio. Abumayyaleh smatra da je lokalna zajednica u kojoj živi i radi inače bliska, ljudi se međusobno podržavaju i gotovo se svi znaju po svojim imenima. Ovaj događaj sve je promijenio.

Trgovina Cup Foods objavila je izjavu u kojoj tvrdi da se Floyd nije opirao policajcima koji su ga uhitili, a vlasnik je također izjavio kako taj čovjek "vjerojatno nije znao" da koristi lažnu novčanicu. Iz trgovine su inače održavali dobar kontakt s Floydovom obitelji te planiraju pokriti dio troškova Georgeove sahranu.

"Policijska brutalnost i rasna nepravda u ovoj zemlji moraju se zaustaviti", Abumayyaleh je osudio zlouporabu vlasti, dodajući da će se prosvjedi i bijes nastaviti dok se ne postigne pravda.

Tjedan dana nakon smrti Georgea Floyda, vlasnik Abumayyaleh i njegovi sinovi primili su više prijetnji smrću.

Nakon brutalnog čina policajca Dereka Chauvina i smrti Afroamerikanca Georgea Floyda, prosvjedi na ulicama Amerike posljednjih dana ne jenjavaju. Slika bijelog policajca koji koljenom pritišće vrat nemoćnog crnca na ulici obišla je cijeli svijet i ponovno pokrenula pitanje koje stoljećima muči mnoge građane SAD-a - pitanje rasizma.

Priča o Georgeu Floydu obišla je cijeli svijet, a zbog nesretne sudbine i lažne novčanice od dvadeset dolara njegovo ime još će se dugo vremena spominjati. Njegova smrt potaknula je mnoge da progovore o gorućem društvenom problemu s kojim se američko stanovništvo pokušava boriti već stoljećima, a svoj je sud iznio i vlasnik trgovine čiji je prodavač pozvao policiju tog kobnog dana.

Mahmoud Abumayyaleh, vlasnik prodavaonice Cup Foods, čiji je zaposlenik pozvao policiju 25. svibnja nakon što je posumnjao da George Floyd pokušava kupiti kutiju cigareta lažnom novčanicom od dvadeset dolara, nakon cijele situacije duboko je zažalio zbog poteza svog prodavača.

Nakon cijelog niza događanja, u kojima je Floyd izgubio život, Mahmoud je apsolutno osudio djelovanje američke policije i brutalnu silu koju 'predstvanici reda' koriste. Inače, državna politika Minneapolisa zahtijeva da svatko tko primijeti da netko koristi lažirane novčanice odmah pozove policiju, no nakon nedavnog događaja koji je potresao svijet, mnogi razmišljaju drugačije.

Drugačije razmišlja i Mahmoud Abumayyaleh, koji u trenutku poziva nije bio prisutan u trgovini, no shrvan je zbog nastalog događaja.

- Želimo podijeliti svoje osjećaje o onome što se dogodilo i dovelo do smrti Georgea Floyda, koji je hladnokrvno ubijen. Srećom, cijeli događaj je zabilježen i treba postojati određena odgovornost onih policajaca koji su bili uključeni - rekao je Abumayyaleh u intervjuu za Grio.

Vlasnik trgovine Cup Foods Mahmoud Abumayyaleh svoj je stav o događaju iznio na svome Twitter profilu, a naišao je na razumijevanje i podršku ljudi.

Abumayyaleh je između ostaloga izjavio da kao vlasnik trgovine više nema namjeru uključivati policiju u nenasilne incidente koji se budu događali unutar njegovog privatnog prostora, a mnogi su ga u toj ideji podržali.

Lokalna trgovina

Abumayyaleh je u zajednici poznat kao Mike. Njegova obitelj već 30 godina posjeduje trgovinu Cup Foods, koja se nalazi na uglu 38. i avenije Chicago - ovo je prvi i jedini posao koji je ikada radio. Abumayyaleh smatra da je lokalna zajednica u kojoj živi i radi inače bliska, ljudi se međusobno podržavaju i gotovo se svi znaju po svojim imenima. Ovaj događaj sve je promijenio.

Trgovina Cup Foods objavila je izjavu u kojoj tvrdi da se Floyd nije opirao policajcima koji su ga uhitili, a vlasnik je također izjavio kako taj čovjek "vjerojatno nije znao" da koristi lažnu novčanicu. Iz trgovine su inače održavali dobar kontakt s Floydovom obitelji te planiraju pokriti dio troškova Georgeove sahranu.

"Policijska brutalnost i rasna nepravda u ovoj zemlji moraju se zaustaviti", Abumayyaleh je osudio zlouporabu vlasti, dodajući da će se prosvjedi i bijes nastaviti dok se ne postigne pravda.

Tjedan dana nakon smrti Georgea Floyda, vlasnik Abumayyaleh i njegovi sinovi primili su više prijetnji smrću.

Nakon brutalnog čina policajca Dereka Chauvina i smrti Afroamerikanca Georgea Floyda, prosvjedi na ulicama Amerike posljednjih dana ne jenjavaju. Slika bijelog policajca koji koljenom pritišće vrat nemoćnog crnca na ulici obišla je cijeli svijet i ponovno pokrenula pitanje koje stoljećima muči mnoge građane SAD-a - pitanje rasizma.

Priča o Georgeu Floydu obišla je cijeli svijet, a zbog nesretne sudbine i lažne novčanice od dvadeset dolara njegovo ime još će se dugo vremena spominjati. Njegova smrt potaknula je mnoge da progovore o gorućem društvenom problemu s kojim se američko stanovništvo pokušava boriti već stoljećima, a svoj je sud iznio i vlasnik trgovine čiji je prodavač pozvao policiju tog kobnog dana.
