Prema pisanju britanskih medija, u Ujedinjenom Kraljevstvu golubovi na najvećem Kanalskom otoku Jerseyju sve češće su zaraženi virusom koji ih pretvara u "zombije". Premda zaražene ptice ugibaju u roku od nekoliko dana, to je i dalje dovoljno dugo da se virus sve više širi, piše Jutarnji list.

Naime, golubovi koji se zaraze paramiksovirusom, odnosno dobiju bolest poznatu kao PPMV ili newcastleova bolest, imaju neurološke simptome poput nasilnog iskrivljavanja vrata i drhtaja krila. Neki od paramiksovirusa mogu zaraziti ljude, a takvih je dosad poznato osam (ospice, zaušnjaci...), dok se dva oblika pojavljuju kod životinja. Upravo jedan takav uzrok je zaraze britanskih golubova. Ptice dramatično gube na težini, imaju zeleni izmet i hodaju u krug, što često znači da ne mogu letjeti, a i nerado se kreću. Svi ti simptomi doveli su do toga da ljudi zaražene ptice nazivaju "zombi" golubovima, piše Jutarnji list.

Istina, na britanskom kopnu još nisu zabilježeni takvi slučajevi, a dužnosnici u Jerseyju pokušavaju locirati i maknuti zaražene ptice kako bi se spriječilo širenje ove bolesti. Zato je vlada objavila naputak za one koji uzgajaju golubove i preporučili su cijepljenje te razgovore s veterinarom ne bi li dobili savjet za održavanje biosigurnosti u prostorima u kojima drže golubove. Naime, ima uzgajivača koji sudjeluju na izložbama ptica ili na utrkama pa je savjet da svaka mora biti cijepljena ako vlasnik namjerava u njima sudjelovati na nekom natjecanju.

Među ostalim, sklonište za životinje JSPCA, na otoku Jerseyju, pokušava suzbiti bolest tako da se zaražene ptice "humano eutanaziraju". To je zapravo jedini način da se zaustavi širenje bolesti. Naime, virus se vrlo lako i brzo širi izmetom i drugim tjelesnim tekućinama ptica, a u ovo vlažno i hladno doba godine može preživjeti nekoliko mjeseci, upozoravaju stručnjaci. Naglašavaju da može biti problema i za ljude koji su u kontaktu s bolesnim pticama i, primjerice, izazvati upalu oka.

Prema pisanju britanskih medija, u Ujedinjenom Kraljevstvu golubovi na najvećem Kanalskom otoku Jerseyju sve češće su zaraženi virusom koji ih pretvara u "zombije". Premda zaražene ptice ugibaju u roku od nekoliko dana, to je i dalje dovoljno dugo da se virus sve više širi, piše Jutarnji list.

Naime, golubovi koji se zaraze paramiksovirusom, odnosno dobiju bolest poznatu kao PPMV ili newcastleova bolest, imaju neurološke simptome poput nasilnog iskrivljavanja vrata i drhtaja krila. Neki od paramiksovirusa mogu zaraziti ljude, a takvih je dosad poznato osam (ospice, zaušnjaci...), dok se dva oblika pojavljuju kod životinja. Upravo jedan takav uzrok je zaraze britanskih golubova. Ptice dramatično gube na težini, imaju zeleni izmet i hodaju u krug, što često znači da ne mogu letjeti, a i nerado se kreću. Svi ti simptomi doveli su do toga da ljudi zaražene ptice nazivaju "zombi" golubovima, piše Jutarnji list.

Istina, na britanskom kopnu još nisu zabilježeni takvi slučajevi, a dužnosnici u Jerseyju pokušavaju locirati i maknuti zaražene ptice kako bi se spriječilo širenje ove bolesti. Zato je vlada objavila naputak za one koji uzgajaju golubove i preporučili su cijepljenje te razgovore s veterinarom ne bi li dobili savjet za održavanje biosigurnosti u prostorima u kojima drže golubove. Naime, ima uzgajivača koji sudjeluju na izložbama ptica ili na utrkama pa je savjet da svaka mora biti cijepljena ako vlasnik namjerava u njima sudjelovati na nekom natjecanju.

Među ostalim, sklonište za životinje JSPCA, na otoku Jerseyju, pokušava suzbiti bolest tako da se zaražene ptice "humano eutanaziraju". To je zapravo jedini način da se zaustavi širenje bolesti. Naime, virus se vrlo lako i brzo širi izmetom i drugim tjelesnim tekućinama ptica, a u ovo vlažno i hladno doba godine može preživjeti nekoliko mjeseci, upozoravaju stručnjaci. Naglašavaju da može biti problema i za ljude koji su u kontaktu s bolesnim pticama i, primjerice, izazvati upalu oka.

Novi virus golubove pretvara u zombije?! Stručnjak otkriva može li se prenijeti na ljude, opisuje bizarne znakove: ‘Ptice gube na težini, imaju zeleni izmet i hodaju u krug...‘

Prema pisanju britanskih medija, u Ujedinjenom Kraljevstvu golubovi na najvećem Kanalskom otoku Jerseyju sve češće su zaraženi virusom koji ih pretvara u "zombije". Premda zaražene ptice ugibaju u roku od nekoliko dana, to je i dalje dovoljno dugo da se virus sve više širi, piše Jutarnji list.

Naime, golubovi koji se zaraze paramiksovirusom, odnosno dobiju bolest poznatu kao PPMV ili newcastleova bolest, imaju neurološke simptome poput nasilnog iskrivljavanja vrata i drhtaja krila. Neki od paramiksovirusa mogu zaraziti ljude, a takvih je dosad poznato osam (ospice, zaušnjaci...), dok se dva oblika pojavljuju kod životinja. Upravo jedan takav uzrok je zaraze britanskih golubova. Ptice dramatično gube na težini, imaju zeleni izmet i hodaju u krug, što često znači da ne mogu letjet...
