Razvoj situacije s koronavirusom u Hrvatskoj i svijetu nastavio je objašnjavati poznati znanstvenik Igor Rudan koji je na svom Facebook profilu objavio novi nastavak 'Karantene Wuhan', ovaj put posvećen moralnoj panici.

Piše tako kako su mu se predstavnici medija obratili odmah po detekciji prvog slučaja koronavirusa u Hrvatskoj, tražeći od njega gostovanja u emisijama i stručne izjave.

„Slijećem u Zagreb. Taksist uplašen, u vožnji daje ženi mobitelom upute koliko zaliha čega da nakupuje. Svi u gradu pričaju samo o pandemiji, ponašaju se kao da bi od koronavirusa moglo umrijeti tri milijuna Hrvata – navodi Rudan i objašnjava kako je svemu tome vidio prigodu, s obzirom da već godinama nastoji popularizirati znanost i znanje, ali interes u Hrvatskoj je malen.

- Ali sada je odjednom narastao, prilika je ovo kakva se pruža ili samo jednom u životu, ili nikada uopće - konstatira Rudan. Tumači potom kako panika može natjerati ljude na sasvim neobična ponašanja, pa će tako jedni kupiti previše sapuna, drugi ga neće više moći naći, pa će prljave ruke drugih ugroziti one prve.

- Nadalje, među stanovništvom postoje mnogi koji pate od poremećaja anksioznosti, hipohondrije, nesanice, alkoholizma i depresije. Nepotrebno poticanje panike pogoršat će život tim ljudima, otežati im borbu s njihovim bolestima, neke možda gurnuti i preko ruba - upozorava Rudan.

Upravo je curenje informacije o proglašenju karantene u Lombardiji dovelo do panike i bijega mnogih na jug države, prenoseći tamo i virus, zbog čega je sada cijela Italija u karanteni.

'Ne razumijem koristi od panike u ovom slučaju. Što itko može učiniti, ako ga uhvati panika pred dolaskom epidemije? Gdje može pobjeći od ovog novog virusa? Može jedino na Mjesec. A sve radnje koje je trebao poduzeti zdravstveni sustav, poduzete su na vrijeme i situacija je za sada, srećom, još uvijek mirna – mišljenja je Rudan.

Dopušta mogućnost da se u Italiji možda događa nešto neobično u odnosu na sve druge zemlje, ali to je tek potrebno temeljito znanstveno razjasniti iako u Italiji, za vrijeme sezone teže gripe, svakog dana od gripe umire 250 ljudi, ali nitko o tome ne piše.

- Srećom, do sada u Hrvatskoj još nitko nije umro od koronavirusa. Ali kada ova nova zaraza odnese i prve žrtve u Hrvatskoj, započet će nova, viša razina panike. Ona će tada, prvi put u dosadašnjem razvoju događaja, biti čak i donekle poželjna. Naime, ljudi će se zatvoriti u kuće i neće izlaziti od straha.

To će svakako pomoći suzbijanju epidemije. I kada sve završi, vidjet će se da je, bez obzira na sve emocije, špekulacije i poluinformacije, na kraju razvoj događaja u najvećoj mjeri slijedio predviđanja struke i znanosti. Na žalost, osim dva već spomenuta problema – izvrtanja i mijenjanja konkretnih izjava naših inozemnih stručnjaka ili pogrešne interpretacije naših istupa zbog nepažljivog čitanja, primijetio sam proteklih dana i treći problem.

Sve više ljudi željelo bi da budemo u krivu. Sve više mi se čini da u Hrvatskoj doista ima ljudi koji bi bili sretniji da je tijekom protekla dva tjedna umrlo barem nekoliko njihovih sudržavljana, negoli da smo mi, hrvatski znanstvenici u inozemstvu, o ovom problemu bili u pravu.

Nisam uopće znao kamo bih takvo ponašanje svrstao. I onda se, kao deus ex machina, danas niotkuda javio naš veliki pisac Miljenko Jergović. I objasnio nam svima o čemu se radi. Postoji, naime, naziv za ovakav javni poraz zdravog razuma. Zove se "moralna panika".

Jergović je napisao sljedeće: "Što se događa kada se jave oni koji o Covidu-19 neusporedivo kompetentnije slute, koliko god ga ni oni dobro ne poznaju? U hrvatskom slučaju to su Alemka Markotić, Ivan Đikić, Igor Rudan. Njoj ne vjerujemo, kao što smrtno uplašeni hipohondar ne vjeruje liječniku koji mu iznosi umjereno povoljne procjene njegova stanja.

A Đikić i Rudan, koji pokušavaju intervenirati na društvo u moralnoj panici, ili se najednom promatraju kao ravnopravni sugovornici u žamoru neznalica, ili ih se čak sumnjiči kao neke angažirane alternativce. Umjesto da smiruju, njihove riječi kao da izazovu bijes i prezir.

Zašto? Zato što čovjek usred moralne panike više vjeruje manje vjerojatnim, pa i idiotskim vijestima, lažima i dezinformacijama, koje bi, da su istinite i vjerojatne, svjedočile o njegovoj ugroženosti, nego vijestima koje bi kompetentno potvrđivale da on, možda, jest ugrožen, ali ne toliko."

Razvoj situacije s koronavirusom u Hrvatskoj i svijetu nastavio je objašnjavati poznati znanstvenik Igor Rudan koji je na svom Facebook profilu objavio novi nastavak 'Karantene Wuhan', ovaj put posvećen moralnoj panici.

Piše tako kako su mu se predstavnici medija obratili odmah po detekciji prvog slučaja koronavirusa u Hrvatskoj, tražeći od njega gostovanja u emisijama i stručne izjave.

„Slijećem u Zagreb. Taksist uplašen, u vožnji daje ženi mobitelom upute koliko zaliha čega da nakupuje. Svi u gradu pričaju samo o pandemiji, ponašaju se kao da bi od koronavirusa moglo umrijeti tri milijuna Hrvata – navodi Rudan i objašnjava kako je svemu tome vidio prigodu, s obzirom da već godinama nastoji popularizirati znanost i znanje, ali interes u Hrvatskoj je malen.

- Ali sada je odjednom narastao, prilika je ovo kakva se pruža ili samo jednom u životu, ili nikada uopće - konstatira Rudan. Tumači potom kako panika može natjerati ljude na sasvim neobična ponašanja, pa će tako jedni kupiti previše sapuna, drugi ga neće više moći naći, pa će prljave ruke drugih ugroziti one prve.

- Nadalje, među stanovništvom postoje mnogi koji pate od poremećaja anksioznosti, hipohondrije, nesanice, alkoholizma i depresije. Nepotrebno poticanje panike pogoršat će život tim ljudima, otežati im borbu s njihovim bolestima, neke možda gurnuti i preko ruba - upozorava Rudan.

Upravo je curenje informacije o proglašenju karantene u Lombardiji dovelo do panike i bijega mnogih na jug države, prenoseći tamo i virus, zbog čega je sada cijela Italija u karanteni.

'Ne razumijem koristi od panike u ovom slučaju. Što itko može učiniti, ako ga uhvati panika pred dolaskom epidemije? Gdje može pobjeći od ovog novog virusa? Može jedino na Mjesec. A sve radnje koje je trebao poduzeti zdravstveni sustav, poduzete su na vrijeme i situacija je za sada, srećom, još uvijek mirna – mišljenja je Rudan.

Dopušta mogućnost da se u Italiji možda događa nešto neobično u odnosu na sve druge zemlje, ali to je tek potrebno temeljito znanstveno razjasniti iako u Italiji, za vrijeme sezone teže gripe, svakog dana od gripe umire 250 ljudi, ali nitko o tome ne piše.

- Srećom, do sada u Hrvatskoj još nitko nije umro od koronavirusa. Ali kada ova nova zaraza odnese i prve žrtve u Hrvatskoj, započet će nova, viša razina panike. Ona će tada, prvi put u dosadašnjem razvoju događaja, biti čak i donekle poželjna. Naime, ljudi će se zatvoriti u kuće i neće izlaziti od straha.

To će svakako pomoći suzbijanju epidemije. I kada sve završi, vidjet će se da je, bez obzira na sve emocije, špekulacije i poluinformacije, na kraju razvoj događaja u najvećoj mjeri slijedio predviđanja struke i znanosti. Na žalost, osim dva već spomenuta problema – izvrtanja i mijenjanja konkretnih izjava naših inozemnih stručnjaka ili pogrešne interpretacije naših istupa zbog nepažljivog čitanja, primijetio sam proteklih dana i treći problem.

Sve više ljudi željelo bi da budemo u krivu. Sve više mi se čini da u Hrvatskoj doista ima ljudi koji bi bili sretniji da je tijekom protekla dva tjedna umrlo barem nekoliko njihovih sudržavljana, negoli da smo mi, hrvatski znanstvenici u inozemstvu, o ovom problemu bili u pravu.

Nisam uopće znao kamo bih takvo ponašanje svrstao. I onda se, kao deus ex machina, danas niotkuda javio naš veliki pisac Miljenko Jergović. I objasnio nam svima o čemu se radi. Postoji, naime, naziv za ovakav javni poraz zdravog razuma. Zove se "moralna panika".

Jergović je napisao sljedeće: "Što se događa kada se jave oni koji o Covidu-19 neusporedivo kompetentnije slute, koliko god ga ni oni dobro ne poznaju? U hrvatskom slučaju to su Alemka Markotić, Ivan Đikić, Igor Rudan. Njoj ne vjerujemo, kao što smrtno uplašeni hipohondar ne vjeruje liječniku koji mu iznosi umjereno povoljne procjene njegova stanja.

A Đikić i Rudan, koji pokušavaju intervenirati na društvo u moralnoj panici, ili se najednom promatraju kao ravnopravni sugovornici u žamoru neznalica, ili ih se čak sumnjiči kao neke angažirane alternativce. Umjesto da smiruju, njihove riječi kao da izazovu bijes i prezir.

Zašto? Zato što čovjek usred moralne panike više vjeruje manje vjerojatnim, pa i idiotskim vijestima, lažima i dezinformacijama, koje bi, da su istinite i vjerojatne, svjedočile o njegovoj ugroženosti, nego vijestima koje bi kompetentno potvrđivale da on, možda, jest ugrožen, ali ne toliko."

Razvoj situacije s koronavirusom u Hrvatskoj i svijetu nastavio je objašnjavati poznati znanstvenik Igor Rudan koji je na svom Facebook profilu objavio novi nastavak 'Karantene Wuhan', ovaj put posvećen moralnoj panici.

Piše tako kako su mu se predstavnici medija obratili odmah po detekciji prvog slučaja koronavirusa u Hrvatskoj, tražeći od njega gostovanja u emisijama i stručne izjave.

„Slijećem u Zagreb. Taksist uplašen, u vožnji daje ženi mobitelom upute koliko zaliha čega da nakupuje. Svi u gradu pričaju samo o pandemiji, ponašaju se kao da bi od koronavirusa moglo umrijeti tri milijuna Hrvata – navodi Rudan i objašnjava kako je svemu tome vidio prigodu, s obzirom da već godinama nastoji popularizirati znanost i znanje, ali interes u Hrvatskoj je malen.
