Brojne organizacije za ljudska prava i aktivisti poslali su danas otvoreno pismo britanskom parlamentu, pozivajući da se Albanija ukloni s popisa "sigurnih zemalja" u vladinu prijedlogu zakona o ilegalnoj migraciji.
"Zemlja se bori s ozbiljnim problemima kao što su korupcija, trgovina ljudima i nasilje, što je povezano s bandama, kao i diskriminacijom protiv različitih zajednica, uključujući LGBTQ, Rome i Egipćane", navodi se u pismu, piše Jutarnji list.
Otvoreno pismo objavljeno u ponedjeljak potpisalo je više od 40 organizacija koje smatraju da će kategorizacija Albanije kao "sigurne zemlje" značiti brzo vraćanje Albanaca u zemlju podrijetla, bez obzira na njihova ljudska prava i individualne zahtjeve za azil.

Ovaj zahtjev slijedi zaključak međustranačkog Odbora za unutarnje poslove koji je u ponedjeljak službeno objavio kako postoji "malo dokaza" da su Albanci u opasnosti u svojoj zemlji te da im je potreban azil.
Odbor je naveo brojke: ukupno je 51 posto zahtjeva za azil Albanaca prvobitno prihvaćeno tijekom šest mjeseci do lipnja prošle godine. Neki koji su podnijeli zahtjev za azil, posebice žene, bili su žrtve trgovine ljudima i trebaju zaštitu, rekli su zastupnici.

Odbor zastupnika je također rekao da devet zemalja, uključujući Njemačku, nije prihvatilo niti jedan zahtjev za azil iz Albanije u tom razdoblju. Iz tih razloga pozvali su Ministarstvo unutarnjih poslova da objasni zašto je stopa prihvaćanja u Ujedinjenom Kraljevstvu tako visoka.
U izvješću su istaknute brojke iz 2022. koje pokazuju da je više od četvrtine od 45.755 ljudi koji su prešli kanal u malim čamcima došlo iz Albanije. Broj Albanaca koji stižu u Ujedinjeno Kraljevstvo tom rutom porastao je s 800 u 2021. na 12.301. u 2022. godini.

"Albanija je sigurna zemlja", rekli su zastupnici. "Ona nije u ratu i zemlja je kandidat za ulazak u Europsku uniju. Nema jasne osnove da Ujedinjeno Kraljevstvo rutinski prihvaća tisuće zahtjeva za azil od albanskih građana", smatra Odbor.
Vlada poručuje da u suradnji s Albanijom radi na zaustavljanju ilegalne migracije. Prošli je tjedan premijer Rishi Sunak rekao u Kentu, gradu na jugozapadu zemlje koji služi kao glavni ulaz u zemlju putem kanala La Manche, da njegov plan za rješavanje pitanja migracija napreduje, ali ima "posla". Također je naveo da je dogovor s Albanijom o vraćanju migranata doveo do toga da je 1800 ljudi vraćeno, ali to nije pridonijelo odvraćanju od prelaska, piše Jutarnji list.

Brojne organizacije za ljudska prava i aktivisti poslali su danas otvoreno pismo britanskom parlamentu, pozivajući da se Albanija ukloni s popisa "sigurnih zemalja" u vladinu prijedlogu zakona o ilegalnoj migraciji.
"Zemlja se bori s ozbiljnim problemima kao što su korupcija, trgovina ljudima i nasilje, što je povezano s bandama, kao i diskriminacijom protiv različitih zajednica, uključujući LGBTQ, Rome i Egipćane", navodi se u pismu, piše Jutarnji list.
Otvoreno pismo objavljeno u ponedjeljak potpisalo je više od 40 organizacija koje smatraju da će kategorizacija Albanije kao "sigurne zemlje" značiti brzo vraćanje Albanaca u zemlju podrijetla, bez obzira na njihova ljudska prava i individualne zahtjeve za azil.

Ovaj zahtjev slijedi zaključak međustranačkog Odbora za unutarnje poslove koji je u ponedjeljak službeno objavio kako postoji "malo dokaza" da su Albanci u opasnosti u svojoj zemlji te da im je potreban azil.
Odbor je naveo brojke: ukupno je 51 posto zahtjeva za azil Albanaca prvobitno prihvaćeno tijekom šest mjeseci do lipnja prošle godine. Neki koji su podnijeli zahtjev za azil, posebice žene, bili su žrtve trgovine ljudima i trebaju zaštitu, rekli su zastupnici.

Odbor zastupnika je također rekao da devet zemalja, uključujući Njemačku, nije prihvatilo niti jedan zahtjev za azil iz Albanije u tom razdoblju. Iz tih razloga pozvali su Ministarstvo unutarnjih poslova da objasni zašto je stopa prihvaćanja u Ujedinjenom Kraljevstvu tako visoka.
U izvješću su istaknute brojke iz 2022. koje pokazuju da je više od četvrtine od 45.755 ljudi koji su prešli kanal u malim čamcima došlo iz Albanije. Broj Albanaca koji stižu u Ujedinjeno Kraljevstvo tom rutom porastao je s 800 u 2021. na 12.301. u 2022. godini.

"Albanija je sigurna zemlja", rekli su zastupnici. "Ona nije u ratu i zemlja je kandidat za ulazak u Europsku uniju. Nema jasne osnove da Ujedinjeno Kraljevstvo rutinski prihvaća tisuće zahtjeva za azil od albanskih građana", smatra Odbor.
Vlada poručuje da u suradnji s Albanijom radi na zaustavljanju ilegalne migracije. Prošli je tjedan premijer Rishi Sunak rekao u Kentu, gradu na jugozapadu zemlje koji služi kao glavni ulaz u zemlju putem kanala La Manche, da njegov plan za rješavanje pitanja migracija napreduje, ali ima "posla". Također je naveo da je dogovor s Albanijom o vraćanju migranata doveo do toga da je 1800 ljudi vraćeno, ali to nije pridonijelo odvraćanju od prelaska, piše Jutarnji list.
