Dan uoči inauguracije za 46. predsjednika Sjedinjenih Američkih Država, Joe Biden oprostio se u utorak od svojih sugrađana u Delawareu, saveznoj državi u kojoj je rođen i odrastao.

U vrlo emotivnom govoru zahvalio im je što su vjerovali u njega kada je započinjao političku karijeru. Govoreći u zračnoj luci New Castle prisjetio se i sina Beaua, uspješnog odvjetnika koji je preminuo  2015. godine od tumora na mozgu. Bidenu je glas podrhtavao dok je sa suzama u očima govorio o pokojnom sinu. Rekao je kako se nadao da će on jednoga dana postati predsjednik.

- Žalim samo zbog jedne stvari, žalim jer on nije ovdje s nama. On je trebao postati predsjednik. Delaware me je naučio da je sve moguće u ovoj zemlji – poručio je emotivno Biden u državi koju je predstavljao kao senator dulje od tri desetljeća.

Među okupljenima su bili i njegov sin Hunter te kći Ashley.

Biden je poznat kao političar koji ne prikriva osjećaje, posebice nakon višestrukih obiteljskih tragedija.

“Oprostite mi zbog emocija, ali kada umrem na srcu će mi pisati Delaware”, dodao je 78-godišnji Biden.

 Potom je odletio prema zrakoplovnoj bazi Andrews blizu Washingtona, iako je planirao na inauguraciju putovati vlakom. Godinama je kao američki senator vlakom putovao između Washingtona i Wilmingtona, ali je zbog pojačanih mjera sigurnosti oko inauguracije morao odustati od toga.

Dan uoči inauguracije za 46. predsjednika Sjedinjenih Američkih Država, Joe Biden oprostio se u utorak od svojih sugrađana u Delawareu, saveznoj državi u kojoj je rođen i odrastao.

U vrlo emotivnom govoru zahvalio im je što su vjerovali u njega kada je započinjao političku karijeru. Govoreći u zračnoj luci New Castle prisjetio se i sina Beaua, uspješnog odvjetnika koji je preminuo  2015. godine od tumora na mozgu. Bidenu je glas podrhtavao dok je sa suzama u očima govorio o pokojnom sinu. Rekao je kako se nadao da će on jednoga dana postati predsjednik.

- Žalim samo zbog jedne stvari, žalim jer on nije ovdje s nama. On je trebao postati predsjednik. Delaware me je naučio da je sve moguće u ovoj zemlji – poručio je emotivno Biden u državi koju je predstavljao kao senator dulje od tri desetljeća.

Među okupljenima su bili i njegov sin Hunter te kći Ashley.

Biden je poznat kao političar koji ne prikriva osjećaje, posebice nakon višestrukih obiteljskih tragedija.

“Oprostite mi zbog emocija, ali kada umrem na srcu će mi pisati Delaware”, dodao je 78-godišnji Biden.

 Potom je odletio prema zrakoplovnoj bazi Andrews blizu Washingtona, iako je planirao na inauguraciju putovati vlakom. Godinama je kao američki senator vlakom putovao između Washingtona i Wilmingtona, ali je zbog pojačanih mjera sigurnosti oko inauguracije morao odustati od toga.

Dan uoči inauguracije za 46. predsjednika Sjedinjenih Američkih Država, Joe Biden oprostio se u utorak od svojih sugrađana u Delawareu, saveznoj državi u kojoj je rođen i odrastao.

U vrlo emotivnom govoru zahvalio im je što su vjerovali u njega kada je započinjao političku karijeru. Govoreći u zračnoj luci New Castle prisjetio se i sina Beaua, uspješnog odvjetnika koji je preminuo  2015. godine od tumora na mozgu. Bidenu je glas podrhtavao dok je sa suzama u očima govorio o pokojnom sinu. Rekao je kako se nadao da će on jednoga dana postati predsjednik.

- Žalim samo zbog jedne stvari, žalim jer on nije ovdje s nama. On je trebao postati predsjednik. Delaware me je naučio da je sve moguće u ovoj zemlji – poručio je emotivno Biden u državi koju je predstavljao kao senat...
