Američki predsjednik Joe Biden otputovao je u subotu na Floridu kako bi pogledao razmjere štete koju je napravio uragan Idalia i pružio podršku žrtvama nevremena, no nije se sastao s guvernerom Ronom DeSantisom, potencijalnim protukandidatom na predsjedničkim izborima. 

DeSantisov glasnogovornik je još u petak rekao da se guverner ne planira sastati s Bidenom. "Sigurnosne pripreme koje su potrebne za njihov susret zaustavio bi naše napore koje poduzimamo radi obnove pogođenih područja", izjavio je.

Predsjednik SAD-a odradio je brifing s lokalnim dužnosnicima u Live Oaku, gradu koji je teško stradao tijekom uragana, što se moglo vidjeti na brojnim stablima koja su se srušila na kuće. "Nitko inteligentan ne može više sumnjati u klimatske promjene", rekao je Biden. 

Što se tiče guvernera DeSantisa, odgovorio je da nije razočaran njegovim nedolaskom.

"Možda je imao druge obveze, ali nam je pomogao u organizaciji tako što je, nakon sastanka sa Saveznom agencijom za upravljanje u hitnim slučajevima, sugerirao koja mjesta da obiđemo", rekao je Biden u izjavi novinarima ispred jedne od oštećenih kuća.

S druge strane, izrazio je zadovoljstvo dolaskom bivšeg guvernera i aktualnog senatora iz redova republikanaca Ricka Scotta, unatoč njihovim razilaženjima glede brojnih pitanja.

Ron DeSantis je subotu proveo obilazeći mjesta na obali meksičkog zaljeva, 80 kilometara južnije. Aktualni guverner Floride natječe se za republikansku nominaciju na stranačkim predizborima, no ankete daju prednost bivšem predsjedniku Donaldu Trumpu.

Biden i DeSantis tijekom tjedna su redovito razmjenjivali informacije o uraganu treće kategorije koji je pogodio saveznu državu na jugoistoku SAD-a, gdje su izmjerene brzine vjetre od približno 200 kilometara na sat. Politika se nije uvukla u njihove razgovore, kazao je Biden u izjavi prije tri dana.

Fotografija na kojoj zajedno s Joeom Bidenom pregledava uraganom oštećena područja mogla bi biti politički vrlo riskantna za DeSantisa, dok se predizborna utrka zahuktava. Guverner Floride i dalje kotira kao najozbiljniji protukandidat Donaldu Trumpu, premda dosta zaostaje za njim u anketama.  

DeSantis je u više navrata oštro kritizirao Bidena, s kojim se sukobljavao glede covid-19 cjepiva, prava LGBT osoba i pobačaja. No, kada se spomenuti dvojac susreo prošle godine na Floridi koju je tada pogodio uragan Ian, Biden je istaknuo da su odlično surađivali. 

Čelnica Savezne agencije za upravljanje u hitnim slučajevima Deanne Criswell rekla je novinarima da su završene operacije potrage i spašavanja, a dužnosnici su trenutno usredotočeni na povratak struje u pogođenim gradovima. Manje od 1% stanovnika Floride u subotu je bilo bez struje, napomenula je, no ta je brojka znatno viša u nekim područjima koja su izravno pogođena uraganom.

Američki predsjednik Joe Biden otputovao je u subotu na Floridu kako bi pogledao razmjere štete koju je napravio uragan Idalia i pružio podršku žrtvama nevremena, no nije se sastao s guvernerom Ronom DeSantisom, potencijalnim protukandidatom na predsjedničkim izborima. 

DeSantisov glasnogovornik je još u petak rekao da se guverner ne planira sastati s Bidenom. "Sigurnosne pripreme koje su potrebne za njihov susret zaustavio bi naše napore koje poduzimamo radi obnove pogođenih područja", izjavio je.

Predsjednik SAD-a odradio je brifing s lokalnim dužnosnicima u Live Oaku, gradu koji je teško stradao tijekom uragana, što se moglo vidjeti na brojnim stablima koja su se srušila na kuće. "Nitko inteligentan ne može više sumnjati u klimatske promjene", rekao je Biden. 

Što se tiče guvernera DeSantisa, odgovorio je da nije razočaran njegovim nedolaskom.

"Možda je imao druge obveze, ali nam je pomogao u organizaciji tako što je, nakon sastanka sa Saveznom agencijom za upravljanje u hitnim slučajevima, sugerirao koja mjesta da obiđemo", rekao je Biden u izjavi novinarima ispred jedne od oštećenih kuća.

S druge strane, izrazio je zadovoljstvo dolaskom bivšeg guvernera i aktualnog senatora iz redova republikanaca Ricka Scotta, unatoč njihovim razilaženjima glede brojnih pitanja.

Ron DeSantis je subotu proveo obilazeći mjesta na obali meksičkog zaljeva, 80 kilometara južnije. Aktualni guverner Floride natječe se za republikansku nominaciju na stranačkim predizborima, no ankete daju prednost bivšem predsjedniku Donaldu Trumpu.

Biden i DeSantis tijekom tjedna su redovito razmjenjivali informacije o uraganu treće kategorije koji je pogodio saveznu državu na jugoistoku SAD-a, gdje su izmjerene brzine vjetre od približno 200 kilometara na sat. Politika se nije uvukla u njihove razgovore, kazao je Biden u izjavi prije tri dana.

Čelnica Savezne agencije za upravljanje u hitnim slučajevima Deanne Criswell rekla je novinarima da su završene operacije potrage i spašavanja, a dužnosnici su trenutno usredotočeni na povratak struje u pogođenim gradovima. Manje od 1% stanovnika Floride u subotu je bilo bez struje, napomenula je, no ta je brojka znatno viša u nekim područjima koja su izravno pogođena uraganom.

Američki predsjednik Joe Biden otputovao je u subotu na Floridu kako bi pogledao razmjere štete koju je napravio uragan Idalia i pružio podršku žrtvama nevremena, no nije se sastao s guvernerom Ronom DeSantisom, potencijalnim protukandidatom na predsjedničkim izborima. 

DeSantisov glasnogovornik je još u petak rekao da se guverner ne planira sastati s Bidenom. "Sigurnosne pripreme koje su potrebne za njihov susret zaustavio bi naše napore koje poduzimamo radi obnove pogođenih područja", izjavio je.

Predsjednik SAD-a odradio je brifing s lokalnim dužnosnicima u Live Oaku, gradu koji je teško stradao tijekom uragana, što se moglo vidjeti na brojnim stablima koja su se srušila na kuće. "Nitko inteligentan ne može više sumnjati u klimatske promjene", rekao je Biden. 

Što se tiče guvernera DeSantisa, odgovorio je da nije razočaran njegovim nedolaskom.

"Možda je imao druge obveze, ali nam je pomogao u organizaciji tako što je, nakon sastanka sa Saveznom agencijom za upravljanje u hitnim slučajevima, sugerirao koja mjesta da obiđemo", rekao je Biden u izjavi novinarima ispred jedne od oštećenih kuća.

S druge strane, izrazio je zadovoljstvo dolaskom bivšeg guvernera i aktualnog senatora iz redova republikanaca Ricka Scotta, unatoč njihovim razilaženjima glede brojnih pitanja.

Ron DeSantis je subotu proveo obilazeći mjesta na obali meksičkog zaljeva, 80 kilometara južnije. Aktualni guverner Floride natječe se za republikansku nominaciju na stranačkim predizborima, no ankete daju prednost bivšem predsjedniku Donaldu Trumpu.

Biden i DeSantis tijekom tjedna su redovito razmjenjivali informacije o uraganu treće kategorije koji je pogodio saveznu državu na jugoistoku SAD-a, gdje su izmjerene brzine vjetre od približno 200 kilometara na sat. Politika se nije uvukla u njihove razgovore, kazao je Biden u izjavi prije tri dana.
