Izabrani američki predsjednik Joe Biden imenovat će za ministra obrane umirovljenog generala Lloyda Austina, koji je nadzirao američke snage na Bliskom istoku u mandatu predsjednika Baracka Obame, prenijeli su u ponedjeljak američki mediji pozivajući se na portal Politico.

Politico se pak pozvao na izjave troje ljudi koji su imali uvid u tu odluku.

Ako dobije potvrdu u Senatu, Austin će postati prvi Afroamerikanac na dužnosti američkog ministra obrane.

General kopnene vojske, star 67 godina, Austin se borio i u Iraku i Afganistanu.

Biden će u utorak i službeno priopćiti njegovu nominaciju, javio je Politico.  

Austin će trebati dobiti odricanje od Kongresa jer je prošlo manje od potrebnih sedam godina otkako je službovao u vojsci. On bi tako postao drugi šef Pentagona u četiri godine koji će zahtijevati odricanje, nakon što je predsjednik Donald Trump izabrao Jamesa Mattisa, umirovljenog generala iz redova marinaca, za svog prvog ministra obrane.

Biden, koji preuzima dužnost 20. siječnja, također je objavio imena članova svog zdravstvenog tima kojim će njegova administracija odgovoriti na izazove borbe s pandemijom koronavirusa.

Biden je izabrao dosadašnjeg glavnog tužitelja Kalifornije Xaviera Becerru za ministra zdravstva i  dr. Rochelle Walensky, šeficu infektivnog odjela bostonske bolnice Massachusetts General da vodi američke Centre za kontrolu i prevenciju bolesti (CDC).

Dr. Anthony Fauci, direktor Nacionalnog instituta za alergije i infektivne bolesti imenovan je glavnim Bidenovim savjetnikom za virus.

Izabrani američki predsjednik Joe Biden imenovat će za ministra obrane umirovljenog generala Lloyda Austina, koji je nadzirao američke snage na Bliskom istoku u mandatu predsjednika Baracka Obame, prenijeli su u ponedjeljak američki mediji pozivajući se na portal Politico.

Politico se pak pozvao na izjave troje ljudi koji su imali uvid u tu odluku.

Ako dobije potvrdu u Senatu, Austin će postati prvi Afroamerikanac na dužnosti američkog ministra obrane.

General kopnene vojske, star 67 godina, Austin se borio i u Iraku i Afganistanu.

Biden će u utorak i službeno priopćiti njegovu nominaciju, javio je Politico.  

Austin će trebati dobiti odricanje od Kongresa jer je prošlo manje od potrebnih sedam godina otkako je službovao u vojsci. On bi tako postao drugi šef Pentagona u četiri godine koji će zahtijevati odricanje, nakon što je predsjednik Donald Trump izabrao Jamesa Mattisa, umirovljenog generala iz redova marinaca, za svog prvog ministra obrane.

Biden, koji preuzima dužnost 20. siječnja, također je objavio imena članova svog zdravstvenog tima kojim će njegova administracija odgovoriti na izazove borbe s pandemijom koronavirusa.

Biden je izabrao dosadašnjeg glavnog tužitelja Kalifornije Xaviera Becerru za ministra zdravstva i  dr. Rochelle Walensky, šeficu infektivnog odjela bostonske bolnice Massachusetts General da vodi američke Centre za kontrolu i prevenciju bolesti (CDC).

Dr. Anthony Fauci, direktor Nacionalnog instituta za alergije i infektivne bolesti imenovan je glavnim Bidenovim savjetnikom za virus.

Izabrani američki predsjednik Joe Biden imenovat će za ministra obrane umirovljenog generala Lloyda Austina, koji je nadzirao američke snage na Bliskom istoku u mandatu predsjednika Baracka Obame, prenijeli su u ponedjeljak američki mediji pozivajući se na portal Politico.

Politico se pak pozvao na izjave troje ljudi koji su imali uvid u tu odluku.

Ako dobije potvrdu u Senatu, Austin će postati prvi Afroamerikanac na dužnosti američkog ministra obrane.

General kopnene vojske, star 67 godina, Austin se borio i u Iraku i Afganistanu.

Biden će u utorak i službeno priopćiti njegovu nominaciju, javio je Politico.  

Austin će trebati dobiti odricanje od Kongresa jer je prošlo manje od potrebnih sedam godina otkako je službovao u vojsci. On bi tako postao drugi šef Pentagona u četiri g...
