Posebni izaslanik State Departmenta za Zapadni Balkan Matthew Palmer izjavio je u četvrtak kako je dogovor o održavanju izbora u Mostaru nakon 12 godina "izvanredno postignuće" za njegove građane i najavio američku pomoć u ustrojavanju nove gradske vlasti.

Palmer, koji je u dvodnevnom posjetu BiH, u Mostaru je razgovarao s predstavnicima političkih stranaka, izbornog povjerenstva te mladima o izborima koji će se 20. prosinca održati za lokalna tijela vlasti.

"Izbori u Mostaru su izvanredno postignuće za ljude u Mostaru. To je pozitivan iskorak za demokratski razvoj i napredak. Važno je ne samo da se izbori održe u prosincu, nego da se održe uz najviše demokratske standarde kako bi ljudi imali vjeru da će se njihovi glasovi računati, a da je proces pošten i transparentan", rekao je Palmer novinarima.

Dužnosnik State Departmenta rekao je kako mu je posebno važno ohrabriti mlade ljude kako bi glasovali na lokalnim izborima koji će se održati po prvi put od 2008. godine nakon što su usvojene izmjene Izbornog zakona o načinu biranja gradskih vijećnika.

On je najavio kako će administracija Sjedinjenih Američkih Država s drugim međunarodnim predstavnicima pomoći kako bi izborni proces bio transparentan.

"Moja nazočnost ovdje u Mostaru danas je u funkciji poruke da će međunarodna zajednica, uključujući SAD, posvetiti pozornost onome što se događa u Mostaru. SAD će zajedno s OESS-om i Europskom unijom osigurati potporu civilnome društvu kako bi se osigurali promatrači na svim biračkim mjestima u Mostaru", istaknuo je.

Najavio je kako će se američka administracija biti "partner" kako bi se uspostavila nova gradska uprava koja bi bila na usluzi svim građanima Mostara.

Sredinom lipnja čelnici vodeće hrvatske i bošnjačke stranke, HDZ-a BiH i SDA, Dragan Čović i Bakir Izetbegović, postigli su sporazum o izbornim propisima za grad Mostar.

Ustavni sud BiH je 2010. godine po apelaciji tadašnje predsjednice Federacije BiH Borjane Krišto osporio odredbe Izbornog zakona BiH koji se tiče organiziranja izbora u Mostaru, a u međuvremenu se političke stranke nisu mogle usuglasiti o izmjeni tih propisa. Suglasnost je postignuta ove godine pod pritiskom diplomata najutjecajnijih zemalja svijeta.

Lokalni izbori u ovome gradu održat će se 20. prosinca, više od mjesec dana kasnije u odnosu na sve jedinice lokalne samouprave.

Posebni izaslanik State Departmenta za Zapadni Balkan Matthew Palmer izjavio je u četvrtak kako je dogovor o održavanju izbora u Mostaru nakon 12 godina "izvanredno postignuće" za njegove građane i najavio američku pomoć u ustrojavanju nove gradske vlasti.

Palmer, koji je u dvodnevnom posjetu BiH, u Mostaru je razgovarao s predstavnicima političkih stranaka, izbornog povjerenstva te mladima o izborima koji će se 20. prosinca održati za lokalna tijela vlasti.

"Izbori u Mostaru su izvanredno postignuće za ljude u Mostaru. To je pozitivan iskorak za demokratski razvoj i napredak. Važno je ne samo da se izbori održe u prosincu, nego da se održe uz najviše demokratske standarde kako bi ljudi imali vjeru da će se njihovi glasovi računati, a da je proces pošten i transparentan", rekao je Palmer novinarima.

Dužnosnik State Departmenta rekao je kako mu je posebno važno ohrabriti mlade ljude kako bi glasovali na lokalnim izborima koji će se održati po prvi put od 2008. godine nakon što su usvojene izmjene Izbornog zakona o načinu biranja gradskih vijećnika.

On je najavio kako će administracija Sjedinjenih Američkih Država s drugim međunarodnim predstavnicima pomoći kako bi izborni proces bio transparentan.

"Moja nazočnost ovdje u Mostaru danas je u funkciji poruke da će međunarodna zajednica, uključujući SAD, posvetiti pozornost onome što se događa u Mostaru. SAD će zajedno s OESS-om i Europskom unijom osigurati potporu civilnome društvu kako bi se osigurali promatrači na svim biračkim mjestima u Mostaru", istaknuo je.

Najavio je kako će se američka administracija biti "partner" kako bi se uspostavila nova gradska uprava koja bi bila na usluzi svim građanima Mostara.

Sredinom lipnja čelnici vodeće hrvatske i bošnjačke stranke, HDZ-a BiH i SDA, Dragan Čović i Bakir Izetbegović, postigli su sporazum o izbornim propisima za grad Mostar.

Ustavni sud BiH je 2010. godine po apelaciji tadašnje predsjednice Federacije BiH Borjane Krišto osporio odredbe Izbornog zakona BiH koji se tiče organiziranja izbora u Mostaru, a u međuvremenu se političke stranke nisu mogle usuglasiti o izmjeni tih propisa. Suglasnost je postignuta ove godine pod pritiskom diplomata najutjecajnijih zemalja svijeta.

Lokalni izbori u ovome gradu održat će se 20. prosinca, više od mjesec dana kasnije u odnosu na sve jedinice lokalne samouprave.

Posebni izaslanik State Departmenta za Zapadni Balkan Matthew Palmer izjavio je u četvrtak kako je dogovor o održavanju izbora u Mostaru nakon 12 godina "izvanredno postignuće" za njegove građane i najavio američku pomoć u ustrojavanju nove gradske vlasti.

Palmer, koji je u dvodnevnom posjetu BiH, u Mostaru je razgovarao s predstavnicima političkih stranaka, izbornog povjerenstva te mladima o izborima koji će se 20. prosinca održati za lokalna tijela vlasti.

"Izbori u Mostaru su izvanredno postignuće za ljude u Mostaru. To je pozitivan iskorak za demokratski razvoj i napredak. Važno je ne samo da se izbori održe u prosincu, nego da se održe uz najviše demokratske standarde kako bi ljudi imali vjeru da će se njihovi glasovi računati, a da je proces pošten i transparentan", rekao j...
