Ovu godinu obilježit će intenziviranje sukoba između zapada i Rusije za budućnost jugoistoka Europe, no nova američka vlada vratila je fokus SAD-a na to područje nakon više od desetljeća povlačenja, rekao je u utorak umirovljeni vrhovni zapovjednik snaga NATO-a Philip Breedlove.
"2021. će biti godina rastućih sukoba između zapada i Rusije za budućnost zapadnog Balkana”, rekao je general američkog zrakoplovstva Breedlove, javljajući se s Floride za virtualni okrugli stol za hrvatske novinare.
Kazao je kako je ruski ministar vanjskih poslova Sergej Lavrov krajem prošle godine na svom "političkom hodočašću” ciljao na dvije države koje "Moskvi omogućuju da provodi svoju regionalnu politiku 'razjedini pa vladaj'” – Bosnu i Hercegovinu i Srbiju.
Moskva će se nastaviti žestoko protiviti napretku BiH prema Europskoj uniji, a Srbija će provoditi svoj takozvani projekt Velike Srbije po pitanju Kosova, Crne Gore i BiH, predviđa Breedlove, stručnjaka za europsku sigurnost.
Taj američki general, koji novog američkog ministra obrane Lloyda Austina zove "dobrim prijateljem”, a u prošlosti je često surađivao s američkim predsjednikom Joeom Bidenom dok je on bio senator, pa potpredsjednik, tvrdi da je "dobra vijest” što se nova američka vlada jasno postavila prema NATO-u i jugoistoku Europe.
"Novi predsjednik će vratiti Ameriku u Europu kako bi tamo ponovno bila dio vodstva”, nakon dvanaest godina američkog „povlačenja” s kontinenta, naglasio je.
Breedlove ističe da "odbija biti političar” jer u Washingtonu ima povjerenje obje političke strane, "pa ne želi otuđiti polovicu publike”, no rekao je da su ljudi koje je imenovala Bidenova vlada snažno predani NATO savezu te upoznati s europskim i zapadnobalkanskim geopolitičkim kontekstom.
"Mislim da ćete vidjeti primjerenu vrstu pažnje SAD-a”, rekao je.
Komentirajući ubrzano vojno jačanje Srbije, Breedlove je rekao kako NATO u svom djelovanju mora biti otvoreniji oko događaja na Balkanu.
"Dio shvaćanja problema je priznanje da on postoji i njegovo kategoriziranje. Mislim da bi bilo od velike pomoći kad bi vodstvo NATO-a bilo izravnije oko tih zabrinutosti” te na to odgovorilo diplomatskim i političkim radom u regiji.
Interoperabilnost
Okrugli stol za hrvatske novinare i analitičare s Breedloveom organizirao je Lockheed Martin koji je jedan od četiri ponuđača borbenih zrakoplova Hrvatskoj. Breedlove je vanjski suradnik tog američkog proizvođača oružja.
Ministarstvo obrane je početkom rujna prošle godine primilo ponude za nabavu dvanaest višenamjenskih borbenih aviona, a osim novih Lockheed Martinovih zrakoplova F-16 blok 70 koje nudi SAD, ministarstvo bira između novih švedskih Gripena C/D, polovnih francuskih Rafalea i polovnih izraelskih F-16, blok 30.
Unatoč tome, nabava aviona nije bila tema okruglog stola, no Breedlove je naglasio potrebu interoperabilnosti vojski članica NATO saveza, kazavši kako je u svoje vrijeme, leteći avionom F-16, mogao znati da će „ako sleti u Nizozemskoj ili Belgiji pronaći dijelove zrakoplova koji mu trebaju”.
Govoreći o ideji stvaranja zajedničke europske vojske, koja je dobila na važnosti nakon što je prethodni američki predsjednik Donald Trump zauzeo 'hladniji' stav prema NATO savezu i partnerstvu s Europom, Breedlove je istaknuo da je sve što države Europske unije čine za svoju vojsku dobro i za NATO, jer je većina njih dio obaju saveza.
"Ono što nije dobro jest kad neka država investira u kapacitete koje NATO već posjeduje”, rekao je.
Dodao je i kako neprijatelji sjevernoatlantskog saveza snažno pokušavaju utjecati na javno mnijenje zapada, a da NATO još nije pronašao odgovor na borbu informacijama u toj „sivoj zoni”, no da je to sve češća tema unutar saveza.

Ovu godinu obilježit će intenziviranje sukoba između zapada i Rusije za budućnost jugoistoka Europe, no nova američka vlada vratila je fokus SAD-a na to područje nakon više od desetljeća povlačenja, rekao je u utorak umirovljeni vrhovni zapovjednik snaga NATO-a Philip Breedlove.
"2021. će biti godina rastućih sukoba između zapada i Rusije za budućnost zapadnog Balkana”, rekao je general američkog zrakoplovstva Breedlove, javljajući se s Floride za virtualni okrugli stol za hrvatske novinare.
Kazao je kako je ruski ministar vanjskih poslova Sergej Lavrov krajem prošle godine na svom "političkom hodočašću” ciljao na dvije države koje "Moskvi omogućuju da provodi svoju regionalnu politiku 'razjedini pa vladaj'” – Bosnu i Hercegovinu i Srbiju.
Moskva će se nastaviti žestoko protiviti napretku BiH prema Europskoj uniji, a Srbija će provoditi svoj takozvani projekt Velike Srbije po pitanju Kosova, Crne Gore i BiH, predviđa Breedlove, stručnjaka za europsku sigurnost.
Taj američki general, koji novog američkog ministra obrane Lloyda Austina zove "dobrim prijateljem”, a u prošlosti je često surađivao s američkim predsjednikom Joeom Bidenom dok je on bio senator, pa potpredsjednik, tvrdi da je "dobra vijest” što se nova američka vlada jasno postavila prema NATO-u i jugoistoku Europe.
"Novi predsjednik će vratiti Ameriku u Europu kako bi tamo ponovno bila dio vodstva”, nakon dvanaest godina američkog „povlačenja” s kontinenta, naglasio je.
Breedlove ističe da "odbija biti političar” jer u Washingtonu ima povjerenje obje političke strane, "pa ne želi otuđiti polovicu publike”, no rekao je da su ljudi koje je imenovala Bidenova vlada snažno predani NATO savezu te upoznati s europskim i zapadnobalkanskim geopolitičkim kontekstom.
"Mislim da ćete vidjeti primjerenu vrstu pažnje SAD-a”, rekao je.
Komentirajući ubrzano vojno jačanje Srbije, Breedlove je rekao kako NATO u svom djelovanju mora biti otvoreniji oko događaja na Balkanu.
"Dio shvaćanja problema je priznanje da on postoji i njegovo kategoriziranje. Mislim da bi bilo od velike pomoći kad bi vodstvo NATO-a bilo izravnije oko tih zabrinutosti” te na to odgovorilo diplomatskim i političkim radom u regiji.
Interoperabilnost
Okrugli stol za hrvatske novinare i analitičare s Breedloveom organizirao je Lockheed Martin koji je jedan od četiri ponuđača borbenih zrakoplova Hrvatskoj. Breedlove je vanjski suradnik tog američkog proizvođača oružja.
Ministarstvo obrane je početkom rujna prošle godine primilo ponude za nabavu dvanaest višenamjenskih borbenih aviona, a osim novih Lockheed Martinovih zrakoplova F-16 blok 70 koje nudi SAD, ministarstvo bira između novih švedskih Gripena C/D, polovnih francuskih Rafalea i polovnih izraelskih F-16, blok 30.
Unatoč tome, nabava aviona nije bila tema okruglog stola, no Breedlove je naglasio potrebu interoperabilnosti vojski članica NATO saveza, kazavši kako je u svoje vrijeme, leteći avionom F-16, mogao znati da će „ako sleti u Nizozemskoj ili Belgiji pronaći dijelove zrakoplova koji mu trebaju”.
Govoreći o ideji stvaranja zajedničke europske vojske, koja je dobila na važnosti nakon što je prethodni američki predsjednik Donald Trump zauzeo 'hladniji' stav prema NATO savezu i partnerstvu s Europom, Breedlove je istaknuo da je sve što države Europske unije čine za svoju vojsku dobro i za NATO, jer je većina njih dio obaju saveza.
"Ono što nije dobro jest kad neka država investira u kapacitete koje NATO već posjeduje”, rekao je.
Dodao je i kako neprijatelji sjevernoatlantskog saveza snažno pokušavaju utjecati na javno mnijenje zapada, a da NATO još nije pronašao odgovor na borbu informacijama u toj „sivoj zoni”, no da je to sve češća tema unutar saveza.
