Apel poznatog liječnika

Šef splitske Infektologije, prof. dr. sc. Ivo Ivić, preko 'Slobodne' šalje poziv svim ljudima da se, kad cjepivo bude šire dostupno, cijepe. Smatra i promašenim pozive da se čeka na bolje cjepivo, tvrdi da su sva cjepiva dobra i štite od hospitalizacije i smrti.

Na početku cijepljenja protiv COVID-a 19 mediji su zasuti šumom necjelovitih informacijama koje su običnom čovjeku prečesto nerazumljive.

Nažalost, nerazumijevanju ponekad doprinose i medicinski obrazovane osobe kada se služe jezikom znanosti koji može biti zbunjujući za osobu koja traži jednostavan odgovor na jednostavna pitanja.

– Hoće li me cjepivo zaštititi od bolesti?

– Koje je cjepivo bolje?

– Hoće li mi cjepivo pružiti zaštitu od novih sojeva koronavirusa?

Spriječiti umiranje i invaliditet glavni je cilj svakog cijepljenja. Sva do sada odobrena cjepiva, uključujući i cjepivo AstraZenece, pružaju 100-postotnu zaštitu od teških oblika bolesti COVID-19 u svim dobnim skupinama.

To znači: ako ste cijepljeni, a ipak se zarazite, sigurno je da nećete razviti takvu bolest koju treba bolnički liječiti ili od koje bi mogli umrijeti. Postizanje ovog cilja u najkraćem mogućem vremenu najvažniji je zajednički zadatak cijelog svijeta i svake obitelji. Osobito je važno da se što prije procijepe osobe starije životne dobi i osobe s kroničnim bolestima jer je teška i smrtonosna bolest u njih daleko najčešća. Cjepivo je za njih u ovom času jedini djelotvoran lijek.

Možemo pročitati da je učinkovitost nekih cjepiva do 76%, a drugih 90% ili više, pa se čini da je prvo cjepivo lošije od drugog. Ovi postotci učinkovitosti znače da u se slučaju zaraze neće pojaviti nikakvi simptomi bolesti u 76% osoba cijepljenih prvim, odnosno 90% cijepljenih drugim cjepivom. U preostalih, ako se zaraze, simptomi će biti blagi i nitko neće umrijeti niti trebati bolničko liječenje.

Dakle, učinkovitost oba cjepiva u sprječavanju teške bolesti i umiranja je 100%, a učinkovitost sprječavanja blažih manifestacija bolesti je 76%, odnosno 90%. Ako se svi procijepimo, pojava blagih oblika bolesti unatoč cijepljenju nije razlog za zabrinutost, ali teška bolest, invalidnost i umiranje jesu.

Da je kojom srećom COVID-19 i prirodno blaga bolest, onda bi to bila manje važna tema u našim životima.

Dobro cjepivo ne smije imati ozbiljnih štetnih djelovanja. Sva do sada odobrena cjepiva podjednako su sigurna, a nuspojave koje uzrokuju nisu teške niti su uzrok umiranja.

Pojava novih sojeva virusa otvorila je pitanje koliko će dosadašnja cjepiva biti uspješna protiv njih? Nema konačnog odgovora na ovo pitanje.

Novi sojevi koji su se do sada pojavili nisu potpuno "otporni" na proizvedena cjepiva. To se naziva križnom imunošću u kojoj imunost stečena prema izvornom soju virusa pruža određenu zaštitu i od novog soja, a to znači da onemogućava nastanak teške bolesti i smrt, što je najvažnije.

Naravno, moguće je da se pojave toliko različiti sojevi virusa da dosadašnja cjepiva, ili preboljena bolesti, ne pruže otpornost na novi virus. Ako se tako dogodi, slično kao i za gripu, postoji mogućnost proizvodnje polivalentnih cjepiva koja su usmjerena protiv više različitih sojeva virusa. S uhodavanjem proizvodnje cjepiva protiv koronavirusa i taj problem bi trebao biti relativno lako rješiv.

Sada je važno na pametan način i bez oklijevanja iskoristi sve mogućnosti cijepljenja kako bi se cijela zajednica što prije vratila normalnoj radnoj i socijalnoj dinamici. Dobili smo moćno oružje, ali je prevažno da ga svaki naš punoljetni građanin uzme u ruke i doprinese pobjedi.

Apel poznatog liječnika

Šef splitske Infektologije, prof. dr. sc. Ivo Ivić, preko 'Slobodne' šalje poziv svim ljudima da se, kad cjepivo bude šire dostupno, cijepe. Smatra i promašenim pozive da se čeka na bolje cjepivo, tvrdi da su sva cjepiva dobra i štite od hospitalizacije i smrti.

Na početku cijepljenja protiv COVID-a 19 mediji su zasuti šumom necjelovitih informacijama koje su običnom čovjeku prečesto nerazumljive.

Nažalost, nerazumijevanju ponekad doprinose i medicinski obrazovane osobe kada se služe jezikom znanosti koji može biti zbunjujući za osobu koja traži jednostavan odgovor na jednostavna pitanja.

– Hoće li me cjepivo zaštititi od bolesti?

– Koje je cjepivo bolje?

– Hoće li mi cjepivo pružiti zaštitu od novih sojeva koronavirusa?

Spriječiti umiranje i invaliditet glavni je cilj svakog cijepljenja. Sva do sada odobrena cjepiva, uključujući i cjepivo AstraZenece, pružaju 100-postotnu zaštitu od teških oblika bolesti COVID-19 u svim dobnim skupinama.

To znači: ako ste cijepljeni, a ipak se zarazite, sigurno je da nećete razviti takvu bolest koju treba bolnički liječiti ili od koje bi mogli umrijeti. Postizanje ovog cilja u najkraćem mogućem vremenu najvažniji je zajednički zadatak cijelog svijeta i svake obitelji. Osobito je važno da se što prije procijepe osobe starije životne dobi i osobe s kroničnim bolestima jer je teška i smrtonosna bolest u njih daleko najčešća. Cjepivo je za njih u ovom času jedini djelotvoran lijek.

Možemo pročitati da je učinkovitost nekih cjepiva do 76%, a drugih 90% ili više, pa se čini da je prvo cjepivo lošije od drugog. Ovi postotci učinkovitosti znače da u se slučaju zaraze neće pojaviti nikakvi simptomi bolesti u 76% osoba cijepljenih prvim, odnosno 90% cijepljenih drugim cjepivom. U preostalih, ako se zaraze, simptomi će biti blagi i nitko neće umrijeti niti trebati bolničko liječenje.

Dakle, učinkovitost oba cjepiva u sprječavanju teške bolesti i umiranja je 100%, a učinkovitost sprječavanja blažih manifestacija bolesti je 76%, odnosno 90%. Ako se svi procijepimo, pojava blagih oblika bolesti unatoč cijepljenju nije razlog za zabrinutost, ali teška bolest, invalidnost i umiranje jesu.

Da je kojom srećom COVID-19 i prirodno blaga bolest, onda bi to bila manje važna tema u našim životima.

Dobro cjepivo ne smije imati ozbiljnih štetnih djelovanja. Sva do sada odobrena cjepiva podjednako su sigurna, a nuspojave koje uzrokuju nisu teške niti su uzrok umiranja.

Pojava novih sojeva virusa otvorila je pitanje koliko će dosadašnja cjepiva biti uspješna protiv njih? Nema konačnog odgovora na ovo pitanje.

Novi sojevi koji su se do sada pojavili nisu potpuno "otporni" na proizvedena cjepiva. To se naziva križnom imunošću u kojoj imunost stečena prema izvornom soju virusa pruža određenu zaštitu i od novog soja, a to znači da onemogućava nastanak teške bolesti i smrt, što je najvažnije.

Naravno, moguće je da se pojave toliko različiti sojevi virusa da dosadašnja cjepiva, ili preboljena bolesti, ne pruže otpornost na novi virus. Ako se tako dogodi, slično kao i za gripu, postoji mogućnost proizvodnje polivalentnih cjepiva koja su usmjerena protiv više različitih sojeva virusa. S uhodavanjem proizvodnje cjepiva protiv koronavirusa i taj problem bi trebao biti relativno lako rješiv.

Sada je važno na pametan način i bez oklijevanja iskoristi sve mogućnosti cijepljenja kako bi se cijela zajednica što prije vratila normalnoj radnoj i socijalnoj dinamici. Dobili smo moćno oružje, ali je prevažno da ga svaki naš punoljetni građanin uzme u ruke i doprinese pobjedi.
