Naš poznati znanstvenik, molekularni biolog Nenad Ban s ETH-a u Zürichu, bio je gost N1 Studija uživo gdje je govorio o koronavirusu, mjerama u Švicarskoj gdje se on nalazi, ali i proturječnim informacijama koje često dolaze od različitih znanstvenika, a koje onda posljedično zbunjuju javnost.

- Ova situacija nije sasvim nepredvidiva. Epidemiolozi su upozoravali na ovakav rast koji postepeno, od malih žarišta, poprimi eksponencijalni razvoj. To se desi kada se spoje mala žarišta i kontakti se više ne mogu kontrolirati - kazao je Nenad Ban na početku gostovanja.

Ima nešto važnije od samih mjera, dodaje, a to je da "ljudi shvate o kakvoj situaciji se radi i da se počnu ponašati shodno njoj".

Ima i ideju za mlade ljude, recimo, da formiraju manje grupe i onda se druže s istim ljudima. Nije potrebno u potpunosti se izolirati, ističe naš znanstvenik, ali treba shvatiti ozbiljnost situacije.

- Treba smanjiti kontakte što je moguće više. Ne treba se u potpunosti izolirati, biti u krugu najužih prijatelja i obitelji.

'Španjolska gripa isto došla u tri vala'

Svijet definitno nije ni približno blizu toga da dođe do imuniteta krda, smatra znanstvenik.

- Postoje različiti načini da bi se procijenilo koliko ljudi je preboljelo Covid-19. Jedan od najtočnijih indikatora jest ta brojka ljudi koji su imali jako jake simptome, jer ljudi koji su imali slabe možda ne bi bili detektirani. Ako je smrtnost 0.4 posto i ako je umrlo 400 ljudi, to znači da ih je oko 100.000 preboljelo Covid, što je i dalje jako mali broj s obzirom na broj stanovnika - kaže i dodaje:

- Španjolska gripa je isto došla u tri vala. Val u proljeće bio je blaži nego u jesen i zimu. Taj jesenski val bi s covidom mogao biti gori. Nećemo ove zime doći do imuniteta krda, ni približno. Možda da se cijeli svijet razboli, ali onda bi bilo jako puno umrlih. Problem nije samo broj ljudi koji umiru, nego i 10 puta veći broj onih kojima treba bolnička pomoć - ističe Ban.

- Rizik je jako velik. Sad je trenutak da ljudi uzmu stvar ozbiljno u ruke i prihvate odgovornost za cijelo društvo. U ovom trenu dok nove mjere nisu uzele maha, znači da će broj oboljelih još rasti barem tjedan ili deset dana. Svatko ima odgovornost - upozorava.

'Ne slažem se s Miroslavom Radmanom'

Često se u javnosti mogu čuti oprečna mišljenja raznih znanstvenika. Neki upozoravaju na oprez, dok drugi govore kako se ne radi o tako ozbiljnoj situaciji. Ban upozorava do čega može dovesti takva kakofonija mišljenja te je odgovorio i slaže li se sa znanstvenikom Miroslavom Radmanom koji tvrdi kako bi virus mogao izumrijeti ako se dovoljan broj puta umnoži greška u virusu.

- Ne slažem se s Radmanom. Ovaj virus, s obzirom na sve što znamo o njegovoj biologiji, ne radi greške tako često kao drugi RNA virusi. Nema znaka da bi virus usporavao, u bilo kojem smislu. Istina je da koji put širenjem virusa može doći do akumulacije grešaka i virus izgubi potentnost. To je u ovom trenu hipoteza koja nije znanstveno potvrđena i nema pokazatelja - što se tiče svih eksperimenata - da bi to bio realan scenarij - objašnjava.

Ovakve izjave smatra problemom.

- Nitko nije zainteresiran čuti da je koronavirus opasan, da nije stvar samo u tome kolika je stopa smrtnosti, nego upravo u toj stopi ljudi koji moraju primiti bolničku pomoć. Ako netko ima hipotezu koja odstupa od trenutačnog uvriježenog mišljenja epidemiologa, ona će se brzo proširiti. Mislim da je to veliki problem jer zbunjuje ljude.

Važno je i slušati kontekst izjave. Ako netko kaže ovo je možda tako, ali nije potvrđeno, to se mora uzeti s određenom rezervom - kaže Ban za N1 i zaključuje kako niti jedna država - bez obzira je li implementirala blaže ili strože mjere - nije negirala koronavirus.

Naš poznati znanstvenik, molekularni biolog Nenad Ban s ETH-a u Zürichu, bio je gost N1 Studija uživo gdje je govorio o koronavirusu, mjerama u Švicarskoj gdje se on nalazi, ali i proturječnim informacijama koje često dolaze od različitih znanstvenika, a koje onda posljedično zbunjuju javnost.

- Ova situacija nije sasvim nepredvidiva. Epidemiolozi su upozoravali na ovakav rast koji postepeno, od malih žarišta, poprimi eksponencijalni razvoj. To se desi kada se spoje mala žarišta i kontakti se više ne mogu kontrolirati - kazao je Nenad Ban na početku gostovanja.

Ima nešto važnije od samih mjera, dodaje, a to je da "ljudi shvate o kakvoj situaciji se radi i da se počnu ponašati shodno njoj".

Ima i ideju za mlade ljude, recimo, da formiraju manje grupe i onda se druže s istim ljudima. Nije potrebno u potpunosti se izolirati, ističe naš znanstvenik, ali treba shvatiti ozbiljnost situacije.

- Treba smanjiti kontakte što je moguće više. Ne treba se u potpunosti izolirati, biti u krugu najužih prijatelja i obitelji.

'Španjolska gripa isto došla u tri vala'

Svijet definitno nije ni približno blizu toga da dođe do imuniteta krda, smatra znanstvenik.

- Postoje različiti načini da bi se procijenilo koliko ljudi je preboljelo Covid-19. Jedan od najtočnijih indikatora jest ta brojka ljudi koji su imali jako jake simptome, jer ljudi koji su imali slabe možda ne bi bili detektirani. Ako je smrtnost 0.4 posto i ako je umrlo 400 ljudi, to znači da ih je oko 100.000 preboljelo Covid, što je i dalje jako mali broj s obzirom na broj stanovnika - kaže i dodaje:

- Španjolska gripa je isto došla u tri vala. Val u proljeće bio je blaži nego u jesen i zimu. Taj jesenski val bi s covidom mogao biti gori. Nećemo ove zime doći do imuniteta krda, ni približno. Možda da se cijeli svijet razboli, ali onda bi bilo jako puno umrlih. Problem nije samo broj ljudi koji umiru, nego i 10 puta veći broj onih kojima treba bolnička pomoć - ističe Ban.

- Rizik je jako velik. Sad je trenutak da ljudi uzmu stvar ozbiljno u ruke i prihvate odgovornost za cijelo društvo. U ovom trenu dok nove mjere nisu uzele maha, znači da će broj oboljelih još rasti barem tjedan ili deset dana. Svatko ima odgovornost - upozorava.

'Ne slažem se s Miroslavom Radmanom'

Često se u javnosti mogu čuti oprečna mišljenja raznih znanstvenika. Neki upozoravaju na oprez, dok drugi govore kako se ne radi o tako ozbiljnoj situaciji. Ban upozorava do čega može dovesti takva kakofonija mišljenja te je odgovorio i slaže li se sa znanstvenikom Miroslavom Radmanom koji tvrdi kako bi virus mogao izumrijeti ako se dovoljan broj puta umnoži greška u virusu.

- Ne slažem se s Radmanom. Ovaj virus, s obzirom na sve što znamo o njegovoj biologiji, ne radi greške tako često kao drugi RNA virusi. Nema znaka da bi virus usporavao, u bilo kojem smislu. Istina je da koji put širenjem virusa može doći do akumulacije grešaka i virus izgubi potentnost. To je u ovom trenu hipoteza koja nije znanstveno potvrđena i nema pokazatelja - što se tiče svih eksperimenata - da bi to bio realan scenarij - objašnjava.

Ovakve izjave smatra problemom.

- Nitko nije zainteresiran čuti da je koronavirus opasan, da nije stvar samo u tome kolika je stopa smrtnosti, nego upravo u toj stopi ljudi koji moraju primiti bolničku pomoć. Ako netko ima hipotezu koja odstupa od trenutačnog uvriježenog mišljenja epidemiologa, ona će se brzo proširiti. Mislim da je to veliki problem jer zbunjuje ljude.

Važno je i slušati kontekst izjave. Ako netko kaže ovo je možda tako, ali nije potvrđeno, to se mora uzeti s određenom rezervom - kaže Ban za N1 i zaključuje kako niti jedna država - bez obzira je li implementirala blaže ili strože mjere - nije negirala koronavirus.

Naš poznati znanstvenik, molekularni biolog Nenad Ban s ETH-a u Zürichu, bio je gost N1 Studija uživo gdje je govorio o koronavirusu, mjerama u Švicarskoj gdje se on nalazi, ali i proturječnim informacijama koje često dolaze od različitih znanstvenika, a koje onda posljedično zbunjuju javnost.

- Ova situacija nije sasvim nepredvidiva. Epidemiolozi su upozoravali na ovakav rast koji postepeno, od malih žarišta, poprimi eksponencijalni razvoj. To se desi kada se spoje mala žarišta i kontakti se više ne mogu kontrolirati - kazao je Nenad Ban na početku gostovanja.

Ima nešto važnije od samih mjera, dodaje, a to je da "ljudi shvate o kakvoj situaciji se radi i da se počnu ponašati shodno njoj".

Ima i ideju za mlade ljude, recimo, da formiraju manje grupe i onda se druže s ist...
