Nekadašnji veleposlanik Hrvatske u Rusiji Božo Kovačević u razgovoru za Novi List analizirao je rusku invaziju na Ukrajinu i njezine posljedice.
- Globalno nadmetanje Rusije i Sjedinjenih Država rezultiralo je potpunim ostvarivanjem američkih interesa u Europi, a da pritom Amerika nije morala u to ništa uložiti. Postignuta je homogenizacija NATO saveza. Povećana je ovisnost EU-a o Americi, posebno ona energetska. S tim da je još uvijek nejasno kakve će posljedice imati sankcije po rusko gospodarstvo. Ruski predsjednik geopolitička pitanja pretpostavlja ekonomskim, ali u ovom se trenutku još ne zna kakve će biti ekonomske posljedice - objasnio je Kovačević.
Smatra da je za trenutnu krizu odgovoran ruski predsjednik Vladimir Putin. Napominje da su njegove odluke iznenađujuće s obzirom na međunarodnu situaciju koja je prethodila sukobu.
- Zapad je dvadeset godina ignorirao ruska upozorenja o tome da širenje NATO pakta na istok za njih predstavlja sigurnosnu prijetnju. Međutim, Putin se odlučio na agresiju na Ukrajinu u trenutku kad je Zapad bio spreman pregovarati o tim pitanjima koja brinu Rusiju. I utoliko su ovi njegovi potezi iznenađujući - rekao je bivši veleposlanik.
Kovačević napominje da je Putinov cilj okupirati cijelu Ukrajinu, ali agresori bi mogli naići na odlučan otpor na zapadu zemlje, budući da je riječ o narodu koji je ustanke dizao i u Staljinovo vrijeme.
- Čak ako i uspije okupirati cijelu Ukrajinu, time će Rusiji natovariti hipoteku za koju nije sasvim izvjesno da je Rusija može izdržati bez većih posljedica - ističe Kovačević.
Dodaje da bi se moglo naslutiti da je Amerika spremna prihvatiti podjelu Ukrajine.
– Činjenica je da su svoje veleposlanstvo preselili u Lavov. Pozvali su i predsjednika Zelenskog da se preseli u taj grad na zapadu Ukrajine. To bi se možda moglo tumačiti i kao prešutni pristanak na podjelu Ukrajine. Relativno mlake američke reakcije na ovaj čin agresije isto tako možemo smatrati nekom vrstom prešutnog pristanka na to da Rusija na taj način definira svoju sferu interesa - kazao je Kovačević za Novi List.
Odgovorio je i na pitanje ima li Putin, zahvaljujući ratnoj propagandi, podršku ruskog naroda.
– Teško je na to odgovoriti budući da nema pouzdanih ispitivanja javnog mnijenja. I nema organizirane oporbene snage koja bi bila legitimni izraz raspoloženja dijela ruskog stanovništva. U svakom slučaju, promidžba je na djelu u ruskim medijima. I tamo se Ukrajinci demoniziraju kao nacisti. I ova se intervencija opravdava kao akcija zaštite ljudi koji govore ruski od napada razularenih ukrajinskih fašista - objasnio je Kovačević.

Nekadašnji veleposlanik Hrvatske u Rusiji Božo Kovačević u razgovoru za Novi List analizirao je rusku invaziju na Ukrajinu i njezine posljedice.
- Globalno nadmetanje Rusije i Sjedinjenih Država rezultiralo je potpunim ostvarivanjem američkih interesa u Europi, a da pritom Amerika nije morala u to ništa uložiti. Postignuta je homogenizacija NATO saveza. Povećana je ovisnost EU-a o Americi, posebno ona energetska. S tim da je još uvijek nejasno kakve će posljedice imati sankcije po rusko gospodarstvo. Ruski predsjednik geopolitička pitanja pretpostavlja ekonomskim, ali u ovom se trenutku još ne zna kakve će biti ekonomske posljedice - objasnio je Kovačević.
Smatra da je za trenutnu krizu odgovoran ruski predsjednik Vladimir Putin. Napominje da su njegove odluke iznenađujuće s obzirom na međunarodnu situaciju koja je prethodila sukobu.
- Zapad je dvadeset godina ignorirao ruska upozorenja o tome da širenje NATO pakta na istok za njih predstavlja sigurnosnu prijetnju. Međutim, Putin se odlučio na agresiju na Ukrajinu u trenutku kad je Zapad bio spreman pregovarati o tim pitanjima koja brinu Rusiju. I utoliko su ovi njegovi potezi iznenađujući - rekao je bivši veleposlanik.
Kovačević napominje da je Putinov cilj okupirati cijelu Ukrajinu, ali agresori bi mogli naići na odlučan otpor na zapadu zemlje, budući da je riječ o narodu koji je ustanke dizao i u Staljinovo vrijeme.
- Čak ako i uspije okupirati cijelu Ukrajinu, time će Rusiji natovariti hipoteku za koju nije sasvim izvjesno da je Rusija može izdržati bez većih posljedica - ističe Kovačević.
Dodaje da bi se moglo naslutiti da je Amerika spremna prihvatiti podjelu Ukrajine.
– Činjenica je da su svoje veleposlanstvo preselili u Lavov. Pozvali su i predsjednika Zelenskog da se preseli u taj grad na zapadu Ukrajine. To bi se možda moglo tumačiti i kao prešutni pristanak na podjelu Ukrajine. Relativno mlake američke reakcije na ovaj čin agresije isto tako možemo smatrati nekom vrstom prešutnog pristanka na to da Rusija na taj način definira svoju sferu interesa - kazao je Kovačević za Novi List.
Odgovorio je i na pitanje ima li Putin, zahvaljujući ratnoj propagandi, podršku ruskog naroda.
– Teško je na to odgovoriti budući da nema pouzdanih ispitivanja javnog mnijenja. I nema organizirane oporbene snage koja bi bila legitimni izraz raspoloženja dijela ruskog stanovništva. U svakom slučaju, promidžba je na djelu u ruskim medijima. I tamo se Ukrajinci demoniziraju kao nacisti. I ova se intervencija opravdava kao akcija zaštite ljudi koji govore ruski od napada razularenih ukrajinskih fašista - objasnio je Kovačević.
