Ukrajinski šahisti pogođeni su već 19 mjeseci Putinovim “ratnim gambitom” u kojem je zanimljiva jedna priča. Ukrajinski predsjednik Voldomir Zelenski odlikovao je poznatog velemajstora Igora Kovalenka ordenom Za hrabrost III. stupnja. Neki će se sjetiti da je on bio pobjednik zagrebačkog šahovskog Turnira Mira 2021. godine - pišu Sportske novosti.

Nejerojatna je ovo priča s obzirom da je budući pravoslavni pop postao ratni heroj. U mirnodopsko vrijeme Kovalenko je studirao teologiju, bio šahovski trener i crkveni kapelan. Kad je Rusija napala Ukrajinu 24. veljače 2022. godine, živio je u Kijevu.

Nisam u vojsci da ubijem Ruse

Prema Kovalenku, najmanje što šahovska zajednica može učiniti je izbrisati iz života one koji podržavaju akcije Rusije i Bjelorusije na teritoriju Ukrajine - fanatike i podlace.

- Ukrajina je nacija koja upravo sada uklanja gangrenu Sovjetskog Saveza iz svoje povijesti - rekao je Kovalenko.

Velemajstor je još rekao da su njegova braća otišla u obranu domovine, dok on sam pomaže starim ljudima koji ne mogu napustiti svoj rodni grad. Počeo je volontirati, skupljati zalihe za vojnike i prikupljati novčana sredstva. U travnju je već bio profesionalni vojnik, u srpnju raspoređen u ratom razorenu oblast Donjeck. Kovalenko trenutno zauzima 65. mjesto na svjetskoj FIDE ljestvici, s rejtingom 2674.

Poznati velemajstor nije znao ni pucati kada se prijavio u ukrajinsku vojsku. Sada služi kao vojnik, kada je potrebno i kao kapelan. Ne vidi kontradikciju između tih dviju uloga. Ranjen je u nogu prošle jeseni, pa je imao prilike malo igrati šah, nastupio je za Ukrajinu na Svjetskom ekipnom šahovskom prvenstvu u Jeruzalemu u studenom prošle godine.

“Nisam u vojsci da ubijam Ruse, ja sam tu da spasim Ukrajince”, objašnjava Kovalenko na Twitteru i nastavlja:

“Ratujemo u vrlo teškim uvjetima. Ponekad se nalazimo u napuštenim kućama, ponekad ispod mostova, ponekad u rovovima i zemunicama.”

70 dana na položaju

Junak Bahmuta i 3. jurišne brigade još navodi:

- Najteže je što nema redovne rotacije. Bio sam tamo 70 dana, bez dana odmora sam znao provesti na položaju u stalnoj dnevnoj i noćnoj dužnosti. Kada se ta psihološka i fizička iscrpljenost nakupi, pretvara vas u zombija. Još je teži miran dan, ali znajući činjenicu da se sutra ne možete odmoriti i oporaviti, samo morate nastaviti.

Kovalenko je jedini iz skupine vrhunskih ukrajinskih velemajstora koji je postao profesionalni vojnik, ostali su uključeni u ukrajinske ratne napore na druge načine.

Ukrajinski šahisti pogođeni su već 19 mjeseci Putinovim “ratnim gambitom” u kojem je zanimljiva jedna priča. Ukrajinski predsjednik Voldomir Zelenski odlikovao je poznatog velemajstora Igora Kovalenka ordenom Za hrabrost III. stupnja. Neki će se sjetiti da je on bio pobjednik zagrebačkog šahovskog Turnira Mira 2021. godine - pišu Sportske novosti.

Nejerojatna je ovo priča s obzirom da je budući pravoslavni pop postao ratni heroj. U mirnodopsko vrijeme Kovalenko je studirao teologiju, bio šahovski trener i crkveni kapelan. Kad je Rusija napala Ukrajinu 24. veljače 2022. godine, živio je u Kijevu.

“U Kijevu sam i bit ću u Kijevu”, poručio je tada Igor Kovalenko u snimljenoj videoporuci.

Nisam u vojsci da ubijem Ruse

Prema Kovalenku, najmanje što šahovska zajednica može učiniti je izbrisati iz života one koji podržavaju akcije Rusije i Bjelorusije na teritoriju Ukrajine - fanatike i podlace.

- Ukrajina je nacija koja upravo sada uklanja gangrenu Sovjetskog Saveza iz svoje povijesti - rekao je Kovalenko.

Velemajstor je još rekao da su njegova braća otišla u obranu domovine, dok on sam pomaže starim ljudima koji ne mogu napustiti svoj rodni grad. Počeo je volontirati, skupljati zalihe za vojnike i prikupljati novčana sredstva. U travnju je već bio profesionalni vojnik, u srpnju raspoređen u ratom razorenu oblast Donjeck. Kovalenko trenutno zauzima 65. mjesto na svjetskoj FIDE ljestvici, s rejtingom 2674.

Poznati velemajstor nije znao ni pucati kada se prijavio u ukrajinsku vojsku. Sada služi kao vojnik, kada je potrebno i kao kapelan. Ne vidi kontradikciju između tih dviju uloga. Ranjen je u nogu prošle jeseni, pa je imao prilike malo igrati šah, nastupio je za Ukrajinu na Svjetskom ekipnom šahovskom prvenstvu u Jeruzalemu u studenom prošle godine.

“Ratujemo u vrlo teškim uvjetima. Ponekad se nalazimo u napuštenim kućama, ponekad ispod mostova, ponekad u rovovima i zemunicama.”

70 dana na položaju

Junak Bahmuta i 3. jurišne brigade još navodi:

- Najteže je što nema redovne rotacije. Bio sam tamo 70 dana, bez dana odmora sam znao provesti na položaju u stalnoj dnevnoj i noćnoj dužnosti. Kada se ta psihološka i fizička iscrpljenost nakupi, pretvara vas u zombija. Još je teži miran dan, ali znajući činjenicu da se sutra ne možete odmoriti i oporaviti, samo morate nastaviti.

Kovalenko je jedini iz skupine vrhunskih ukrajinskih velemajstora koji je postao profesionalni vojnik, ostali su uključeni u ukrajinske ratne napore na druge načine.

Nevjerojatna priča poznatog velemajstora, studirao je teologiju, osvajao turnire, a sad je ratni heroj

Ukrajinski šahisti pogođeni su već 19 mjeseci Putinovim “ratnim gambitom” u kojem je zanimljiva jedna priča. Ukrajinski predsjednik Voldomir Zelenski odlikovao je poznatog velemajstora Igora Kovalenka ordenom Za hrabrost III. stupnja. Neki će se sjetiti da je on bio pobjednik zagrebačkog šahovskog Turnira Mira 2021. godine - pišu Sportske novosti.

Nejerojatna je ovo priča s obzirom da je budući pravoslavni pop postao ratni heroj. U mirnodopsko vrijeme Kovalenko je studirao teologiju, bio šahovski trener i crkveni kapelan. Kad je Rusija napala Ukrajinu 24. veljače 2022. godine, živio je u Kijevu.

“U Kijevu sam i bit ću u Kijevu”, poručio je tada Igor Kovalenko u snimljenoj videoporuci.

Prema Kovalenku, najmanje što šahovska zajednica može učiniti je izbrisati iz života one koji podržavaju akcije Rusije i Bjelorusije na teritoriju Ukrajine - fanatike i podlace.

- Ukrajina je nacija koja upravo sada uklanja gangrenu Sovjetskog Saveza iz svoje povijesti - rekao je Kovalenko.

Velemajstor je još rekao da su njegova braća otišla u obranu domovine, dok on sam pomaže starim ljudima koji ne mogu napustiti svoj rodni grad. Počeo je volontirati, skupljati zalihe za vojnike i prikupljati novčana sredstva. U travnju je već bio profesionalni vojnik, u srpnju raspoređen u ratom razorenu oblast Donjeck. Kovalenko trenutno zauzima 65. mjesto na svjetskoj FIDE ljestvici, s rejtingom 2674.

Poznati velemajstor nije znao ni pucati kada se prijavio u ukrajinsku vojsku. Sada služi kao vojnik, kada je potrebno i kao kapelan. Ne vidi kontradikciju između tih dviju uloga. Ranjen je u nogu prošle jeseni, pa je imao prilike malo igrati šah, nastupio je za Ukrajinu na Svjetskom ekipnom šahovskom prvenstvu u Jeruzalemu u studenom prošle godine.
