Hrvatski tenisač Marin Čilić svoj je nastup na ovogodišnjem Roland Garrosu okončao u 1. kolu, bolji od njega bio je prošlogodišnji finalist u Parizu te pobjednik nedavnog US Opena Austrijanac Dominic Thiem sa 6-4, 6-3, 6-3 nakon dva sata i šest minuta igre.

Bio je ovo četvrti međusobni susret Čilića i Thiema i četvrta pobjeda Austrijanca koji je bio uspješniji i u 3. kolu US Opena prije tri tjedna.

Susret je započeo s izmjenama "breakova", prvo je Čilić izgubio svoj servis, no odmah je uspio vratiti zaostatak. Čilić je bio aktivniji igrač tijekom čitavog prvog seta, nekoliko puta je ponudio odlična rješenja skraćenim loptama, no kod rezultata 4-4 pri izjednačenju na njegovom servisu promašio je forhend, a zatim ga je Thiem natjerao na pogrešku kojom je Austrijanac stigao do prednosti od 5-4 i servisa za set. Imao je Čilić veliku priliku za novi povratak, stigao je do tri vezane "break-lopte" za 5-5, no prvo je Thiem pogodio as, zatim je Čilić napravio četiri uzastopne pogreške i set je pripao Austrijancu. Posebno veliku priliku čilić je propustio na treću "break-loptu" kada odličan napad nije odlučio završiti izlaskom na mrežu nego je ostao na osnovnoj liniji te je loše skratio loptu koja je završila s njegove stranwe mreže.

U drugom setu Thiem se ograničio na držanje lopte u igri te je većinu poena osvojio na Čilićve pogreške. Naš je igrač u toj dionici napravio 14 neprisiljenih pogrešaka, a Thiem samo tri pa ne čidui što je Austrijanac dva puta oduzimao servis Čiliću.

Početkom trećeg seta Čilić je oduzeo servis Thiemu i poveo sa 2-0, no uslijedio je veliki pad u njegovoj igri. Thiem je s pet uzastopnih gemova stigao nadomak pobjede. Iako je Čilić prilikom Thiemova servisa za meč stigao do "break-lopte", nije ju uspio i realizirati, a drugu šansu Austrijanac mu nije ponudio.

Čilić je susret okončao sa 24 "winnera", sedam više od Thiema, ali i 43 neprisiljene pogreške za razliku od 21 Thiemove.

Čilić tako nije uspio pobjedom proslaviti svoj 32. rođendan.

Hrvatski tenisač Marin Čilić svoj je nastup na ovogodišnjem Roland Garrosu okončao u 1. kolu, bolji od njega bio je prošlogodišnji finalist u Parizu te pobjednik nedavnog US Opena Austrijanac Dominic Thiem sa 6-4, 6-3, 6-3 nakon dva sata i šest minuta igre.

Bio je ovo četvrti međusobni susret Čilića i Thiema i četvrta pobjeda Austrijanca koji je bio uspješniji i u 3. kolu US Opena prije tri tjedna.

Susret je započeo s izmjenama "breakova", prvo je Čilić izgubio svoj servis, no odmah je uspio vratiti zaostatak. Čilić je bio aktivniji igrač tijekom čitavog prvog seta, nekoliko puta je ponudio odlična rješenja skraćenim loptama, no kod rezultata 4-4 pri izjednačenju na njegovom servisu promašio je forhend, a zatim ga je Thiem natjerao na pogrešku kojom je Austrijanac stigao do prednosti od 5-4 i servisa za set. Imao je Čilić veliku priliku za novi povratak, stigao je do tri vezane "break-lopte" za 5-5, no prvo je Thiem pogodio as, zatim je Čilić napravio četiri uzastopne pogreške i set je pripao Austrijancu. Posebno veliku priliku čilić je propustio na treću "break-loptu" kada odličan napad nije odlučio završiti izlaskom na mrežu nego je ostao na osnovnoj liniji te je loše skratio loptu koja je završila s njegove stranwe mreže.

U drugom setu Thiem se ograničio na držanje lopte u igri te je većinu poena osvojio na Čilićve pogreške. Naš je igrač u toj dionici napravio 14 neprisiljenih pogrešaka, a Thiem samo tri pa ne čidui što je Austrijanac dva puta oduzimao servis Čiliću.

Početkom trećeg seta Čilić je oduzeo servis Thiemu i poveo sa 2-0, no uslijedio je veliki pad u njegovoj igri. Thiem je s pet uzastopnih gemova stigao nadomak pobjede. Iako je Čilić prilikom Thiemova servisa za meč stigao do "break-lopte", nije ju uspio i realizirati, a drugu šansu Austrijanac mu nije ponudio.

Čilić je susret okončao sa 24 "winnera", sedam više od Thiema, ali i 43 neprisiljene pogreške za razliku od 21 Thiemove.

Čilić tako nije uspio pobjedom proslaviti svoj 32. rođendan.

Dominic Thiem s lakoćom svladao Marina Čilića u prvom kolu Roland Garrosa

Hrvatski tenisač Marin Čilić svoj je nastup na ovogodišnjem Roland Garrosu okončao u 1. kolu, bolji od njega bio je prošlogodišnji finalist u Parizu te pobjednik nedavnog US Opena Austrijanac Dominic Thiem sa 6-4, 6-3, 6-3 nakon dva sata i šest minuta igre.

Bio je ovo četvrti međusobni susret Čilića i Thiema i četvrta pobjeda Austrijanca koji je bio uspješniji i u 3. kolu US Opena prije tri tjedna.

Susret je započeo s izmjenama "breakova", prvo je Čilić izgubio svoj servis, no odmah je uspio vratiti zaostatak. Čilić je bio aktivniji igrač tijekom čitavog prvog seta, nekoliko puta je ponudio odlična rješenja skraćenim loptama, no kod rezultata 4-4 pri izjednačenju na njegovom servisu promašio je forhend, a zatim ga je Thiem natjerao na pogrešku kojom je Austrijanac stigao do ...
