U dramatičnoj završnici finala XXX Europa kupa, koji se u organizaciji NBC, međunarodne kuglačke federacije, održavao u Sarajevu od 2. do 6. listopada, kuglači Mertojaka pobijedili su Victoriju Bamberg rezultatom 5:3.

U do kraja izjednačenoj utakmici i uzavreloj atmosferi kuglane u sportskom centru Juan Antonio Samaranch u Zetri, odlučivali su ukupno srušeni čunjevi. Doslovno u posljednjem hitcu, najmlađi igrač Mertojaka Mihael Grivičić, dvostruki svjetski prvak U-18, bio je za dva čunja uspješniji od svog protivnika. Nastalo je neopisivo slavlje igrača i njihovih vjernih navijača, jer se već na drugoj međunarodnoj sceni, Mertojak popeo na vrh Europe, te time nakon dugo vremena donio jednu ekipnu europsku titulu u Grad Split.

I u pojedinačnom rankingu, najbolji rezultat ostvario je igrač i trener kluba, Hrvoje Marinović, najbolji Hrvatski kuglač i nominalno treći igrač svijeta. Pored Marinovića osvajanju titule europskog klupskog prvaka doprinijeli su igrači Mate Primorac, kapetan, Andrej Kovač, Dimitar Dimitrovski, Ivan Totić, Mihael Grivičić, Goran Žubrinić, Duško Milanović, Davor Zoković, Nikola Muše i Pave Ćubelić, pod rukovodstvom Mladena Vukovića i Branka Bosanaca, tajnika kluba.

Plasmanom u polufinale kupa (u kojem je pobijeđen Partizan iz Beograda), Mertojak je izborio nastup u Ligi prvaka, gdje će se u 1/8 finala susresti s klubom TJ Lokomotiva Ceska Trebova iz Češke.

U dramatičnoj završnici finala XXX Europa kupa, koji se u organizaciji NBC, međunarodne kuglačke federacije, održavao u Sarajevu od 2. do 6. listopada, kuglači Mertojaka pobijedili su Victoriju Bamberg rezultatom 5:3.

U do kraja izjednačenoj utakmici i uzavreloj atmosferi kuglane u sportskom centru Juan Antonio Samaranch u Zetri, odlučivali su ukupno srušeni čunjevi. Doslovno u posljednjem hitcu, najmlađi igrač Mertojaka Mihael Grivičić, dvostruki svjetski prvak U-18, bio je za dva čunja uspješniji od svog protivnika. Nastalo je neopisivo slavlje igrača i njihovih vjernih navijača, jer se već na drugoj međunarodnoj sceni, Mertojak popeo na vrh Europe, te time nakon dugo vremena donio jednu ekipnu europsku titulu u Grad Split.

I u pojedinačnom rankingu, najbolji rezultat ostvario je igrač i trener kluba, Hrvoje Marinović, najbolji Hrvatski kuglač i nominalno treći igrač svijeta. Pored Marinovića osvajanju titule europskog klupskog prvaka doprinijeli su igrači Mate Primorac, kapetan, Andrej Kovač, Dimitar Dimitrovski, Ivan Totić, Mihael Grivičić, Goran Žubrinić, Duško Milanović, Davor Zoković, Nikola Muše i Pave Ćubelić, pod rukovodstvom Mladena Vukovića i Branka Bosanaca, tajnika kluba.

Plasmanom u polufinale kupa (u kojem je pobijeđen Partizan iz Beograda), Mertojak je izborio nastup u Ligi prvaka, gdje će se u 1/8 finala susresti s klubom TJ Lokomotiva Ceska Trebova iz Češke.
