Sjedinjene Američke Države podržale su napore Međunarodnog olimpijskog odbora (MOO) da se ruskim i bjeloruskim sportašima omogući natjecanje na Olimpijskim igrama u Parizu pod neutralnom zastavom, priopćila je u četvrtak Bijela kuća.

- SAD je od samog početka podržavao isključenje nacionalnih sportskih tijela Rusije i Bjelorusije iz međunarodnih sportskih saveza - rekla je glasnogovornica Bijele kuće Karine Jean-Pierre.

- U slučajevima kada sportske organizacije i organizatori događaja, kao što je Međunarodni olimpijski odbor, odluče dopustiti sportašima iz Rusije i Bjelorusije da sudjeluju u sportskim događajima, trebalo bi biti potpuno jasno da ne predstavljaju Rusiju ili Bjelorusiju - dodala je.

Iz Bijele kuće su dodali da se i dalje protive bilo kakvom isticanju državnih simbola, zastava i grbova.

Američki odgovor dolazi nešto manje od tjedan dana nakon što je MOO odlučio da će, unatoč ruskoj agresiji na Ukrajinu, proučiti mogućnosti sudjelovanja ruskih i bjeloruskih sportaša na službenim natjecanjima, među kojima i na Olimpijskim igrama u Parizu 2024. godine.

Stav SAD-a samo pridonosi rastućoj raspravi oko nadolazećih Igara u Parizu 2024. Prije nekog vremena Ukrajina je pozvala na potpunu zabranu ruskih sportaša zbog ruske invazije na Ukrajinu. Rusija se, s druge strane, zalaže za ukidanje svih ograničenja i tvrdi da Olimpijske igre ne treba politizirati.

Baltičke zemlje i Poljska pozvale su međunarodna sportska tijela da zabrane ruskim i bjeloruskim sportašima sudjelovanje na OI i drugim sportskim natjecanjima dok god traje rat u Ukrajini.

- Ministri Litve, Estonije, Latvije i Poljske su objavili zajedničku izjavu kojom traže isključenje ruskih i bjeloruskih sportaša - kazala je litvanska ministrica obrazovanja, znanosti i sporta Jurgita Siugzdiniene.

Međutim, s druge strane glavni tajnik Austrijskog olimpijskog odbora (ÖOC) Peter Mennel se kao i predsjednik Međunarodnog olimpijskog odbora (MOK) Thomas Bach založio za sudjelovanje ruskih i bjeloruskih sportaša na Ljetnim olimpijskim igrama u Parizu 2024.

- Mišljenje Međunarodnog olimpijskog odbora je da niti jedan sportaš ne smije biti spriječen sudjelovati na natjecanjima samo zbog svoje putovnice. Mi u Austrijskom olimpijskom odboru slažemo se s tom ocjenom - objasnio je Mennel.

Sjedinjene Američke Države podržale su napore Međunarodnog olimpijskog odbora (MOO) da se ruskim i bjeloruskim sportašima omogući natjecanje na Olimpijskim igrama u Parizu pod neutralnom zastavom, priopćila je u četvrtak Bijela kuća.

- SAD je od samog početka podržavao isključenje nacionalnih sportskih tijela Rusije i Bjelorusije iz međunarodnih sportskih saveza - rekla je glasnogovornica Bijele kuće Karine Jean-Pierre.

- U slučajevima kada sportske organizacije i organizatori događaja, kao što je Međunarodni olimpijski odbor, odluče dopustiti sportašima iz Rusije i Bjelorusije da sudjeluju u sportskim događajima, trebalo bi biti potpuno jasno da ne predstavljaju Rusiju ili Bjelorusiju - dodala je.

Iz Bijele kuće su dodali da se i dalje protive bilo kakvom isticanju državnih simbola, zastava i grbova.

Američki odgovor dolazi nešto manje od tjedan dana nakon što je MOO odlučio da će, unatoč ruskoj agresiji na Ukrajinu, proučiti mogućnosti sudjelovanja ruskih i bjeloruskih sportaša na službenim natjecanjima, među kojima i na Olimpijskim igrama u Parizu 2024. godine.

Stav SAD-a samo pridonosi rastućoj raspravi oko nadolazećih Igara u Parizu 2024. Prije nekog vremena Ukrajina je pozvala na potpunu zabranu ruskih sportaša zbog ruske invazije na Ukrajinu. Rusija se, s druge strane, zalaže za ukidanje svih ograničenja i tvrdi da Olimpijske igre ne treba politizirati.

Baltičke zemlje i Poljska pozvale su međunarodna sportska tijela da zabrane ruskim i bjeloruskim sportašima sudjelovanje na OI i drugim sportskim natjecanjima dok god traje rat u Ukrajini.

- Ministri Litve, Estonije, Latvije i Poljske su objavili zajedničku izjavu kojom traže isključenje ruskih i bjeloruskih sportaša - kazala je litvanska ministrica obrazovanja, znanosti i sporta Jurgita Siugzdiniene.

Međutim, s druge strane glavni tajnik Austrijskog olimpijskog odbora (ÖOC) Peter Mennel se kao i predsjednik Međunarodnog olimpijskog odbora (MOK) Thomas Bach založio za sudjelovanje ruskih i bjeloruskih sportaša na Ljetnim olimpijskim igrama u Parizu 2024.

- Mišljenje Međunarodnog olimpijskog odbora je da niti jedan sportaš ne smije biti spriječen sudjelovati na natjecanjima samo zbog svoje putovnice. Mi u Austrijskom olimpijskom odboru slažemo se s tom ocjenom - objasnio je Mennel.

Sjedinjene Američke Države podržale su napore Međunarodnog olimpijskog odbora (MOO) da se ruskim i bjeloruskim sportašima omogući natjecanje na Olimpijskim igrama u Parizu pod neutralnom zastavom, priopćila je u četvrtak Bijela kuća.

- SAD je od samog početka podržavao isključenje nacionalnih sportskih tijela Rusije i Bjelorusije iz međunarodnih sportskih saveza - rekla je glasnogovornica Bijele kuće Karine Jean-Pierre.

- U slučajevima kada sportske organizacije i organizatori događaja, kao što je Međunarodni olimpijski odbor, odluče dopustiti sportašima iz Rusije i Bjelorusije da sudjeluju u sportskim događajima, trebalo bi biti potpuno jasno da ne predstavljaju Rusiju ili Bjelorusiju - dodala je.

Iz Bijele kuće su dodali da se i dalje protive bilo kakvom isticanju...
