Tajlandski znanstvenici izvijestili su o prvom slučaju prenošenja koronavirusa s mrtvog pacijenta na medicinskog ispitivača, što je među stručnjacima povećalo zabrinutost za radnike koji rade u mrtvačnicama i pogrebnike usred pandemije.

"Ovo je prvo izvješće o infekciji COVID-19 i smrti među medicinskim osobljem u jedinici sudske medicine", navodi se u časopisu "Journal of Forensic and Legal Medicine".

"Postupak dezinfekcije koji se koristi u operacijskim salama treba se primijeniti i u jedinicama patologije i forenzike", napisali su autori članka Won Sriwijitalai iz Medicinskog centra RVT u Bangkoku i Viroj Wiwanitkit s kineskoga Medicinskog sveučilišta Hainan.

"Realan problem"

"Trenutno nema podataka o točnom broju mrtvih tijela kontaminiranih koronavirusom jer do sada nije bila uobičajena praksa ispitivanja prisutnosti virusa u tijelima mrtvih na Tajlandu."

Smrt člana forenzičkog tima bio je tek drugi slučaj prijavljen među medicinskim osobljem na Tajlandu od 20. ožujka, dodaju autori.

Ne samo medicinski ispitivači, već i tehničari mrtvačnice i ljudi u pogrebnim poduzećima trebaju se dodatno zaštititi, rekla je Angelique Corthals, profesorica patologije na CUNY-ovom John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

"To je realan problem jer se malo zna o tome koliko dugo novi koronavirus može preživjeti u mrtvim tijelima ili mogu li ona biti zarazni za ljude koji su u dodiru s njima", dodala je.

Mr. sc. dr. Antonio Alujević, specijalist patološke anatomije i sudske medicine na Kliničkom zavodu za patologiju, sudsku medicinu i citologiju KBC-a Split, kaže da do sada nisu radili obdukcije na mrtvim tijelima osoba umrlih od komplikacija bolesti COVID-19, niti je to itko tražio, a nada se da i neće. Objasnio je i zašto:

- Takve obdukcije ne bi imale smisla, nitko od njih ne bi imao koristi, a mi bi se izlagali velikom i nepotrebnom riziku da se zarazimo opasnim virusom.

Može se dokazati CT-om

Osobe koje su umrle nakon infekcije koronavirusom, umrle su zbog komplikacija, zbog upale pluća, zatajenja srca..., što se može dokazati i bez obdukcije, recimo CT-om.

Mi obdukcije inače radimo u roku od 48 sati od trenutka smrti, kada su virusi i bakterije živi i mogu nas zaraziti, kao što je slučaj s virusom HIV-a, tuberkuloze, hepatitisa B i C, pa i koronavirusa.

Radimo obdukcije kod svih sumnjivih smrti, nakon samoubojstava, ubojstava, prometnih i drugih nesreća, na mrtvim tijelima koja nam stižu sa ceste i za koje ne znamo jesu li zaražena, ali to radimo kada je to u javnom interesu, odnosno kada to od nas traži Državno odvjetništvo.

U svim nejasnim slučajevima moramo utvrditi uzrok smrti, neovisno o riziku. Stoga se, radi zaštite svih koji u tome sudjeluju, uvijek mora poštovati strogo utvrđeni protokol o zaštitnim mjerama, odjeći i opremi, koje imamo dovoljno na raspolaganju - kaže dr. Alujević.

Osobna zaštita

"Svatko tko dođe u kontakt s tijelom pozitivnim na COVID-19, živim ili mrtvim, trebao bi koristiti osobnu zaštitnu opremu kako bi se spriječilo izlaganje virusu", kaže Summer Johnson McGee, stručnjakinja za zdravstvenu politiku sa University of New Haven.

Od mrtvozornika se sve češće traži da utvrde uzrok smrti pacijenata koji su umrli, a nisu testirani, primijetila je, te se nastoji pronaći kontakte s izloženim članovima obitelji, susjedima i suradnicima.

"Obdukcije i naknadne istrage predstavljaju stvarne rizike za mrtvozornike koji bi se mogli zaraziti bolešću COVID-19", rekla je.

"Kako se povećavaju napori za privremene masovne pokope žrtava i privremene mrtvačnice, medicinsko osoblje koje rukuje s mrtvim tijelima mora biti prioritetno u pogledu zaštitne opreme. Moramo se brinuti za ljude koji se brinu o mrtvima", zaključila je Corthals.

Tajlandski znanstvenici izvijestili su o prvom slučaju prenošenja koronavirusa s mrtvog pacijenta na medicinskog ispitivača, što je među stručnjacima povećalo zabrinutost za radnike koji rade u mrtvačnicama i pogrebnike usred pandemije.

"Ovo je prvo izvješće o infekciji COVID-19 i smrti među medicinskim osobljem u jedinici sudske medicine", navodi se u časopisu "Journal of Forensic and Legal Medicine".

"Postupak dezinfekcije koji se koristi u operacijskim salama treba se primijeniti i u jedinicama patologije i forenzike", napisali su autori članka Won Sriwijitalai iz Medicinskog centra RVT u Bangkoku i Viroj Wiwanitkit s kineskoga Medicinskog sveučilišta Hainan.

"Realan problem"

"Trenutno nema podataka o točnom broju mrtvih tijela kontaminiranih koronavirusom jer do sada nije bila uobičajena praksa ispitivanja prisutnosti virusa u tijelima mrtvih na Tajlandu."

Smrt člana forenzičkog tima bio je tek drugi slučaj prijavljen među medicinskim osobljem na Tajlandu od 20. ožujka, dodaju autori.

Ne samo medicinski ispitivači, već i tehničari mrtvačnice i ljudi u pogrebnim poduzećima trebaju se dodatno zaštititi, rekla je Angelique Corthals, profesorica patologije na CUNY-ovom John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

"To je realan problem jer se malo zna o tome koliko dugo novi koronavirus može preživjeti u mrtvim tijelima ili mogu li ona biti zarazni za ljude koji su u dodiru s njima", dodala je.

Mr. sc. dr. Antonio Alujević, specijalist patološke anatomije i sudske medicine na Kliničkom zavodu za patologiju, sudsku medicinu i citologiju KBC-a Split, kaže da do sada nisu radili obdukcije na mrtvim tijelima osoba umrlih od komplikacija bolesti COVID-19, niti je to itko tražio, a nada se da i neće. Objasnio je i zašto:

- Takve obdukcije ne bi imale smisla, nitko od njih ne bi imao koristi, a mi bi se izlagali velikom i nepotrebnom riziku da se zarazimo opasnim virusom.

Može se dokazati CT-om

Osobe koje su umrle nakon infekcije koronavirusom, umrle su zbog komplikacija, zbog upale pluća, zatajenja srca..., što se može dokazati i bez obdukcije, recimo CT-om.

Mi obdukcije inače radimo u roku od 48 sati od trenutka smrti, kada su virusi i bakterije živi i mogu nas zaraziti, kao što je slučaj s virusom HIV-a, tuberkuloze, hepatitisa B i C, pa i koronavirusa.

Radimo obdukcije kod svih sumnjivih smrti, nakon samoubojstava, ubojstava, prometnih i drugih nesreća, na mrtvim tijelima koja nam stižu sa ceste i za koje ne znamo jesu li zaražena, ali to radimo kada je to u javnom interesu, odnosno kada to od nas traži Državno odvjetništvo.

U svim nejasnim slučajevima moramo utvrditi uzrok smrti, neovisno o riziku. Stoga se, radi zaštite svih koji u tome sudjeluju, uvijek mora poštovati strogo utvrđeni protokol o zaštitnim mjerama, odjeći i opremi, koje imamo dovoljno na raspolaganju - kaže dr. Alujević.

Osobna zaštita

"Svatko tko dođe u kontakt s tijelom pozitivnim na COVID-19, živim ili mrtvim, trebao bi koristiti osobnu zaštitnu opremu kako bi se spriječilo izlaganje virusu", kaže Summer Johnson McGee, stručnjakinja za zdravstvenu politiku sa University of New Haven.

Od mrtvozornika se sve češće traži da utvrde uzrok smrti pacijenata koji su umrli, a nisu testirani, primijetila je, te se nastoji pronaći kontakte s izloženim članovima obitelji, susjedima i suradnicima.

"Obdukcije i naknadne istrage predstavljaju stvarne rizike za mrtvozornike koji bi se mogli zaraziti bolešću COVID-19", rekla je.

"Kako se povećavaju napori za privremene masovne pokope žrtava i privremene mrtvačnice, medicinsko osoblje koje rukuje s mrtvim tijelima mora biti prioritetno u pogledu zaštitne opreme. Moramo se brinuti za ljude koji se brinu o mrtvima", zaključila je Corthals.
