Splitski svećenik Ante Žderić je za Autograf napisao svoj osvrt na napada na Salmana Rushdiea:
Salman Rushdie (Mumbai, 19. lipnja 1947.), angloindijski pisac u egzilu, bori se za život, nakon što je izboden nožem, pred nastup u Chautauqua Institutu u istoimenom gradu u državi New York, gdje je trebao govoriti o slobodi.
Za neupućene, radikalni vjerski vođe, koji su u Iranu zaveli strogi islamistički režim, prije četrdesetak godina su nad Rushdijem proglasili fetvu, tj. presudu po kojoj je ovaj pisac osuđen na smrt, a koju je pozvan izvršiti svaki islamski vjernik.
Riječ je presudi zbog navodnog vrijeđanja Boga, njegovog Proroka i islama u jednom od njegovih djela ("Sotonski stihovi").
Tako je, ovih dana, u Rushdijevom slučaju nakazna (izvitoperena) verzija jedne u temelju plemenite vjere, pokazala svoju fundamentalističku glavu. Jer je, eto, trebalo braniti Božju čast. Tako što će se izbosti čovjeka.
Vjera uvijek traži samokritičnost. Budnost. U suprotnom, od lijepe se princeze neopaženo preobrazi u ružnu vješticu. Spremnu pružiti otrovnu jabuku.
Jedina krajnost koja je u vjeri i dopuštena i poželjna je krajnost ljubavi. U ljubavi prema čovjeku posvjedočiti ljubav prema Bogu.
Svaka je druga krajnost zastranjenje. Krajnost u politici je ideologija, u religioznosti fundamentalizam, u seksualnosti manija… Krajnosti su otrov koji razara zdravo tkivo osobe, društva, političke, vjerske i svake druge zajednice.
Krajnosti u vjeri uvijek je lako maskirati "obranom Božjih prava i časti", ili "Božjom voljom" – koju se ne propitkuje.
Tako zlokobna interpretacija "Božje volje" od pitomog vjernika preko noći stvori religioznog fanatika, spremnog zapaliti tuđi dom, crkvu, sinagogu ili džamiju. Ili s ramena skinuti tuđu glavu.
Fanatici su uvijek zbog nečega uvrijeđeni. Ne treba im puno da im svako neuklapanje u vlastite fantazije postane meta. Od toga nisu imune ni vjerske zajednice na našem prostoru.
Temeljni cilj vjere (barem što se kršćanstva tiče) je pripraviti bolji svijet i vlastitu dušu, odnosno biti bolji čovjek, kako bismo bili pripravni za Božji dolazak (Kraljevstvo Božje).
Teško je misliti da je to moguće ubijanjem. Time se, istina, pripravlja dolazak kraljevstva, ali onog demonskog.
U funadamentalističkom mentalnom sklopu, upravo je to Božja volja – stvoriti nekakvu Božju policijsku državu, za čije ostvarenje su dopuštena sva sredstva.
Smokvin list "Božje volje i časti" pokriva svu nakaznost takvih ideja i umova koji ih, bizarno (a kako bi drugo?), promiču.
Samopropitivanje vjernika čuva od zastranjenja. Vjera mora uključivati postavljanje pitanja, i to onih najosjetljivijih. To je čuva od okoštalosti i zatvorenosti, čuva je od pretvaranja u totalitarizam, u religiozno obojenu ideologiju, koja lako nađe svoje promotore, suce i egzekutore. Kao u Rushdijevom slučaju.
Tko će propitivati sve stvarnosti ljudskog uma i srca, ako to neće činiti – pisci i umjetnici?! (Samo)propitivanje čuva od spoznajne i duhovne mrene, koja pada na oči, um i srce svakog tko vjeru shvaća kao sredstvo koje oslobađa od okova morala, samo uz uvjet da se time brani "Božja čast".
Teško mi je misliti Boga čijoj bi časti prijetilo pisanje nekog čovjeka. To, uostalom, uopće ne bi bio Bog. Prije neka sablast iz fundamentalističkih umova, s kojom se i sami teško nose, opterećeni vlastitim neostvarenostima.
Zato nije čudo da prave bizarnosti nalazimo pomno skrivene upravo u životima onih koji se tako zdušno – kako sami tvrde – protiv zastranjenja bore.

Splitski svećenik Ante Žderić je za Autograf napisao svoj osvrt na napada na Salmana Rushdiea:
Salman Rushdie (Mumbai, 19. lipnja 1947.), angloindijski pisac u egzilu, bori se za život, nakon što je izboden nožem, pred nastup u Chautauqua Institutu u istoimenom gradu u državi New York, gdje je trebao govoriti o slobodi.
Za neupućene, radikalni vjerski vođe, koji su u Iranu zaveli strogi islamistički režim, prije četrdesetak godina su nad Rushdijem proglasili fetvu, tj. presudu po kojoj je ovaj pisac osuđen na smrt, a koju je pozvan izvršiti svaki islamski vjernik.
Riječ je presudi zbog navodnog vrijeđanja Boga, njegovog Proroka i islama u jednom od njegovih djela ("Sotonski stihovi").
Tako je, ovih dana, u Rushdijevom slučaju nakazna (izvitoperena) verzija jedne u temelju plemenite vjere, pokazala svoju fundamentalističku glavu. Jer je, eto, trebalo braniti Božju čast. Tako što će se izbosti čovjeka.
Vjera uvijek traži samokritičnost. Budnost. U suprotnom, od lijepe se princeze neopaženo preobrazi u ružnu vješticu. Spremnu pružiti otrovnu jabuku.
Jedina krajnost koja je u vjeri i dopuštena i poželjna je krajnost ljubavi. U ljubavi prema čovjeku posvjedočiti ljubav prema Bogu.
Svaka je druga krajnost zastranjenje. Krajnost u politici je ideologija, u religioznosti fundamentalizam, u seksualnosti manija… Krajnosti su otrov koji razara zdravo tkivo osobe, društva, političke, vjerske i svake druge zajednice.
Krajnosti u vjeri uvijek je lako maskirati "obranom Božjih prava i časti", ili "Božjom voljom" – koju se ne propitkuje.
Tako zlokobna interpretacija "Božje volje" od pitomog vjernika preko noći stvori religioznog fanatika, spremnog zapaliti tuđi dom, crkvu, sinagogu ili džamiju. Ili s ramena skinuti tuđu glavu.
Fanatici su uvijek zbog nečega uvrijeđeni. Ne treba im puno da im svako neuklapanje u vlastite fantazije postane meta. Od toga nisu imune ni vjerske zajednice na našem prostoru.
Temeljni cilj vjere (barem što se kršćanstva tiče) je pripraviti bolji svijet i vlastitu dušu, odnosno biti bolji čovjek, kako bismo bili pripravni za Božji dolazak (Kraljevstvo Božje).
Teško je misliti da je to moguće ubijanjem. Time se, istina, pripravlja dolazak kraljevstva, ali onog demonskog.
U funadamentalističkom mentalnom sklopu, upravo je to Božja volja – stvoriti nekakvu Božju policijsku državu, za čije ostvarenje su dopuštena sva sredstva.
Smokvin list "Božje volje i časti" pokriva svu nakaznost takvih ideja i umova koji ih, bizarno (a kako bi drugo?), promiču.
Samopropitivanje vjernika čuva od zastranjenja. Vjera mora uključivati postavljanje pitanja, i to onih najosjetljivijih. To je čuva od okoštalosti i zatvorenosti, čuva je od pretvaranja u totalitarizam, u religiozno obojenu ideologiju, koja lako nađe svoje promotore, suce i egzekutore. Kao u Rushdijevom slučaju.
Tko će propitivati sve stvarnosti ljudskog uma i srca, ako to neće činiti – pisci i umjetnici?! (Samo)propitivanje čuva od spoznajne i duhovne mrene, koja pada na oči, um i srce svakog tko vjeru shvaća kao sredstvo koje oslobađa od okova morala, samo uz uvjet da se time brani "Božja čast".
Teško mi je misliti Boga čijoj bi časti prijetilo pisanje nekog čovjeka. To, uostalom, uopće ne bi bio Bog. Prije neka sablast iz fundamentalističkih umova, s kojom se i sami teško nose, opterećeni vlastitim neostvarenostima.
Zato nije čudo da prave bizarnosti nalazimo pomno skrivene upravo u životima onih koji se tako zdušno – kako sami tvrde – protiv zastranjenja bore.
