Kalifornijski punk-rockeri Pennywise dolaze na INmusic festival, koji će se održati od 20. do 22. lipnja na zagrebačkom Jarunu, objavili su u srijedu organizatori.

Pennywise među punk-rock publikom imaju status heroja, prodali su milijune albuma, a počeli su kao bend koji svira po tulumima u rodnom gradu Hermosa Beach u Kaliforniji. Bend je osnovan 1988. godine, a članovi prve postave svirali su i u drugim kalifornijskim bendovima. Ime benda inspirirano je likom iz romana "Ono" Stephena Kinga,  jednim od najstrašnijih likova modernije književnosti.

Do sada su izdali jedanaest studijskih albuma, jedan live album, dva EP-a i jedan DVD. Istoimeni prvi album “Pennywise” iz 1990. godine iznimno brzo se proširio među ljubiteljima punka osiguravši im svjetsku prepoznatljivost, a zahvaljujući drugom i trećem albumu postali su popularni poput Offspringa i Rancida, iako su uporno odbijali potpisati ugovor za veliku diskografsku kuću.

Najpoznatija pjesma, "Bro Hymn", posvećena je njihovim prijateljima.  Od 1997. godine, kada je napisana, svakim izvođenjem izaziva erupciju emocija te je postala ultimativna himna benda. Prvi njihovi tekstovi odisali su pozitivom, dok u nešto kasnijim tekstovima kritiziraju političku situaciju i društveni nemoral.

Najnoviji album "Yesterdays" iz 2014. godine je svojevrsna kompilacija do sada neizdanih pjesama, uključujući i one iz vremena kada su svirali u dvorištima svojih prijatelja. Iako sastavljen od starijih pjesma, album je izrazito konzistentan te se energične pjesme stapaju jedna u drugu.

Pozitivnim stavom i visokoenergetskim nastupom Pennywise će sigurno zagrijati atmosferu INmusic festivala jer energičnosti i interakcije s publikom tome bendu ne nedostaje, poručuju organizatori. 

Na ovogodišnjem INmusic festivalu nastupit će i Florence + the Machine, PJ Harvey, Gutterdämmerung feat. Henry Rollins, Jake Bugg, Skunk Anansie, The Kooks, Wilco, Django Django, The Heavy, The Coral, Yeasayer, Orkesta Mendoza, Kawasaki 3p, Pat Thomas, My Baby, Gustafi, Žen i dr.

Kalifornijski punk-rockeri Pennywise dolaze na INmusic festival, koji će se održati od 20. do 22. lipnja na zagrebačkom Jarunu, objavili su u srijedu organizatori.

Pennywise među punk-rock publikom imaju status heroja, prodali su milijune albuma, a počeli su kao bend koji svira po tulumima u rodnom gradu Hermosa Beach u Kaliforniji. Bend je osnovan 1988. godine, a članovi prve postave svirali su i u drugim kalifornijskim bendovima. Ime benda inspirirano je likom iz romana "Ono" Stephena Kinga,  jednim od najstrašnijih likova modernije književnosti.

Do sada su izdali jedanaest studijskih albuma, jedan live album, dva EP-a i jedan DVD. Istoimeni prvi album “Pennywise” iz 1990. godine iznimno brzo se proširio među ljubiteljima punka osiguravši im svjetsku prepoznatljivost, a zahvaljujući drugom i trećem albumu postali su popularni poput Offspringa i Rancida, iako su uporno odbijali potpisati ugovor za veliku diskografsku kuću.

Najpoznatija pjesma, "Bro Hymn", posvećena je njihovim prijateljima.  Od 1997. godine, kada je napisana, svakim izvođenjem izaziva erupciju emocija te je postala ultimativna himna benda. Prvi njihovi tekstovi odisali su pozitivom, dok u nešto kasnijim tekstovima kritiziraju političku situaciju i društveni nemoral.

Najnoviji album "Yesterdays" iz 2014. godine je svojevrsna kompilacija do sada neizdanih pjesama, uključujući i one iz vremena kada su svirali u dvorištima svojih prijatelja. Iako sastavljen od starijih pjesma, album je izrazito konzistentan te se energične pjesme stapaju jedna u drugu.

Pozitivnim stavom i visokoenergetskim nastupom Pennywise će sigurno zagrijati atmosferu INmusic festivala jer energičnosti i interakcije s publikom tome bendu ne nedostaje, poručuju organizatori. 

Na ovogodišnjem INmusic festivalu nastupit će i Florence + the Machine, PJ Harvey, Gutterdämmerung feat. Henry Rollins, Jake Bugg, Skunk Anansie, The Kooks, Wilco, Django Django, The Heavy, The Coral, Yeasayer, Orkesta Mendoza, Kawasaki 3p, Pat Thomas, My Baby, Gustafi, Žen i dr.
