Znanstvenici su utvrdili da su muškarci stariji od 45 godina, koji su uzimali najviše vitamina C i E, folata i cinka, imali manje oštećenja na DNK u spermijima, navodi se u radu objavljemom u časopisu Fertility & Sterility.

Sa starenjem muškaraca raste broj oštećenja na DNK spermija.

Ovo istraživanje ipak ne dokazuje da antioksidansi sami izravno popravljaju kvalitetu spermija ili povećavaju izglede za zdravu trudnoću.

"Osobe koje se zdravo hrane vjerojatno rade i mnogo drugih zdravih stvari", kazao je jedan od voditelja istraživanja Andrew Wyrobek s Lawrence Berkeley nacionalnog laboratorija u Kaliforniji.

Istraživanje je provedeno na 80 zdravih nepušača u dobi od 22 do 80 godina života.

Znanstvenici su utvrdili da su muškarci stariji od 45 godina, koji su uzimali najviše vitamina C i E, folata i cinka, imali manje oštećenja na DNK u spermijima, navodi se u radu objavljemom u časopisu Fertility & Sterility.

Sa starenjem muškaraca raste broj oštećenja na DNK spermija.

Ovo istraživanje ipak ne dokazuje da antioksidansi sami izravno popravljaju kvalitetu spermija ili povećavaju izglede za zdravu trudnoću.

"Osobe koje se zdravo hrane vjerojatno rade i mnogo drugih zdravih stvari", kazao je jedan od voditelja istraživanja Andrew Wyrobek s Lawrence Berkeley nacionalnog laboratorija u Kaliforniji.

Istraživanje je provedeno na 80 zdravih nepušača u dobi od 22 do 80 godina života.
