Osobe sklone prekomjernom znojenju kod kojih za to nema nekog posebnog zdravstvenog uzroka, iznimno teško podnose visoke ljetne temperature, a stručnjaci imaju nekoliko savjeta koji će im pomoći da smanje pojačan rad znojnih žlijezda ne koristeći pritom antiperspirante.
Jedan od načina je, kažu njemački ljekarnici, konzumacija manje količine crvenog mesa za vrijeme sparnih ljetnih dana.

Upozoravaju da i neke veganske i vegetarijanske alternative, poput proizvoda od soje ili mahunarki također mogu utjecati na pojačano lučenje znoja iz znojnih žlijezda, jer, poput crvenog mesa, sadrže kemijske spojeve poznate kao purini.

Još je jedan način koji pridonosi smanjenom znojenju - suzdržavanje ili konzumacija što manje kofeina, alkohola, začinjene hrane i nikotina.
Znojenje je prirodna reakcija organizma na tjelesnu toplinu i djeluje kao sustav hlađenja. Znoj sam po sebi nema miris. On nastaje kao reakcija na bakterije koje nastanjuju kožu. Što je osobna higijena na višoj razini, bakterija će biti manje, a tako će i mirisi nestati.
Mjesta s kojih znoj ne uspijeva ispariti brzo pružaju toplo i vlažno okruženje, a ono pogoduje bakterijama koje se hrane kemikalijama iz znoja. Brijanje pazuha omogućit će brže isparavanje znoja, a svakodnevno tuširanje smanjiti razmnožavanje bakterija na koži.
Dezodoransi prikrivaju miris tijela, ali ne smanjuju znojenje ni razmnožavanje bakterija. Lokalna primjena alkohola visoke otpornosti spriječit će razmnožavanje bakterija, ali može jako iziritirati kožu.
Njemački ljekarnici podsjećaju da nekim ljudima pomaže puder za tijelo koji upija višak vlage te njegovo korištenje preporučuju na dijelovima tijela koji se nešto manje znoje.
