Brokulu prati zao glas namirnice koju djeca jednostavno ne vole jesti, a tom je stereotipu svoj obol dao i bivši američki predsjednik Bush izjavivši, mrtav hladan, da su ga kao malog tjerali da jede to povrće, a sad kad je predsjednik, objavljuje da više neće jesti brokulu. Antireklama je toliko "umela" proizvođače brokule da su se odlučili na neočekivan potet: u Bijelu su kuću poslali 10 tona brokule, zajedno s obiljem recepata za njenu pripremu. Možda stara gospođa Bush (ili njena sluškinja, prije će biti) jednostavno nije - poput mnogih - znala kako se brokula točno priprema?

A to je zaista šteta, ne zbog obitelji Bush, dobro je njima i bez brokule, nego zbog većine onih koji kupuju brokulu u nadi da će tako unijeti dodatne zdrave sastojke u prehranu, a zbog pogrešnog načina pripreme ta im vitaminska i mineralna blagodat  - poput vitamimna C, B i Ka te folne kiseline, kojima ovo povrće obiluje - jednostavno iscuri u odvod.

Ako tko još kojim slučajem dvoji oko toga je li brokula zaista tako zdrava ili nas tom pričom, još od malih nogu, samo pokušavaju pridobiti da ipak pojedemo koji zalogaj, evo mu friški dokaz da je zaista tako: nova studija provedena na Univerzitetu Penn State pokazala je da brokula sadrži određene molekule koje mogu zaštititi i poboljšati zdravlje crijeva, kao i smanjiti rizik od određenih bolesti probavnog sustava te potpomoći zdravlje stijenki crijeva. O detaljima se, ako želite, možete informirati na webu znanstvene publikacije Science Daily, gdje je objavljen cijeli znanstveni rad, a mi vam prenosimo samo najbitniju rečenicu iz izjave Grryja Perdewa, jednog od autora studije, za New Yotk Post: "Dobili smo snažne dokaze da bi povrće poput brokule trebalo biti dio svakodnevne prehrane zbog njene dobrobiti za crijeva".

Sad se vjerojatno pitate kako bi to brokulu trebalo kuhati da zadrži sve te benefite za zdravlje. Za početak, što kraće. Nutricionisti poručuju da je sasvim dobra i sirova, na salatu (vjerovat ćemo im na riječ), a da dovoljno hranjivih sastojaka sačuva i kad se kuha na pari. Ako je već morate kuhati u vodi, neka to bude u velikom loncu zasoljene vode, na što jačoj vatri i samo par minuta, a nakon što je tako obrađena možete je kratko zapeći na grillu, samo da uhvati malo zapečene arome. To ćete najlakše izvesti ako je nabodete na dugačke drvene štapiće. Brokulu možete kratko zapeći u pećnici na visokoj temperaturi, dobro začinjenu i posutu sastojcima koji se zahrskave pri pečenju poput krušnih mrvica, sjemenki i orašastih plodova, dobit će baš lijepu slatkastu notu u okusu.

Brokulu prati zao glas namirnice koju djeca jednostavno ne vole jesti, a tom je stereotipu svoj obol dao i bivši američki predsjednik Bush izjavivši, mrtav hladan, da su ga kao malog tjerali da jede to povrće, a sad kad je predsjednik, objavljuje da više neće jesti brokulu. Antireklama je toliko "umela" proizvođače brokule da su se odlučili na neočekivan potet: u Bijelu su kuću poslali 10 tona brokule, zajedno s obiljem recepata za njenu pripremu. Možda stara gospođa Bush (ili njena sluškinja, prije će biti) jednostavno nije - poput mnogih - znala kako se brokula točno priprema?

A to je zaista šteta, ne zbog obitelji Bush, dobro je njima i bez brokule, nego zbog većine onih koji kupuju brokulu u nadi da će tako unijeti dodatne zdrave sastojke u prehranu, a zbog pogrešnog načina pripreme ta im vitaminska i mineralna blagodat  - poput vitamimna C, B i Ka te folne kiseline, kojima ovo povrće obiluje - jednostavno iscuri u odvod.

Ako tko još kojim slučajem dvoji oko toga je li brokula zaista tako zdrava ili nas tom pričom, još od malih nogu, samo pokušavaju pridobiti da ipak pojedemo koji zalogaj, evo mu friški dokaz da je zaista tako: nova studija provedena na Univerzitetu Penn State pokazala je da brokula sadrži određene molekule koje mogu zaštititi i poboljšati zdravlje crijeva, kao i smanjiti rizik od određenih bolesti probavnog sustava te potpomoći zdravlje stijenki crijeva. O detaljima se, ako želite, možete informirati na webu znanstvene publikacije Science Daily, gdje je objavljen cijeli znanstveni rad, a mi vam prenosimo samo najbitniju rečenicu iz izjave Grryja Perdewa, jednog od autora studije, za New Yotk Post: "Dobili smo snažne dokaze da bi povrće poput brokule trebalo biti dio svakodnevne prehrane zbog njene dobrobiti za crijeva".

Sad se vjerojatno pitate kako bi to brokulu trebalo kuhati da zadrži sve te benefite za zdravlje. Za početak, što kraće. Nutricionisti poručuju da je sasvim dobra i sirova, na salatu (vjerovat ćemo im na riječ), a da dovoljno hranjivih sastojaka sačuva i kad se kuha na pari. Ako je već morate kuhati u vodi, neka to bude u velikom loncu zasoljene vode, na što jačoj vatri i samo par minuta, a nakon što je tako obrađena možete je kratko zapeći na grillu, samo da uhvati malo zapečene arome. To ćete najlakše izvesti ako je nabodete na dugačke drvene štapiće. Brokulu možete kratko zapeći u pećnici na visokoj temperaturi, dobro začinjenu i posutu sastojcima koji se zahrskave pri pečenju poput krušnih mrvica, sjemenki i orašastih plodova, dobit će baš lijepu slatkastu notu u okusu.

Brokulu prati zao glas namirnice koju djeca jednostavno ne vole jesti, a tom je stereotipu svoj obol dao i bivši američki predsjednik Bush izjavivši, mrtav hladan, da su ga kao malog tjerali da jede to povrće, a sad kad je predsjednik, objavljuje da više neće jesti brokulu. Antireklama je toliko "umela" proizvođače brokule da su se odlučili na neočekivan potet: u Bijelu su kuću poslali 10 tona brokule, zajedno s obiljem recepata za njenu pripremu. Možda stara gospođa Bush (ili njena sluškinja, prije će biti) jednostavno nije - poput mnogih - znala kako se brokula točno priprema?

A to je zaista šteta, ne zbog obitelji Bush, dobro je njima i bez brokule, nego zbog većine onih koji kupuju brokulu u nadi da će tako unijeti dodatne zdrave sastojke u prehranu, a zbog pogrešnog ...
