Krvni test koji može otkriti više od 50 vrsta raka, često prije bilo kakvih znakova ili simptoma, daje odlične rezultate u ograničenoj uporabi u kliničkim ispitivanjima, objavili su znanstvenici u Annals of Oncology.

Istraživači s Instituta za rak Dana-Farber i Medicinskog fakulteta Harvard, radeći s kolegama iz Velike Britanije s Instituta Francis Crick i University College London testirali su pet tisuće uzoraka pacijenata koji su posjetili svog liječnika opće prakse sa sumnjom na rak - neki su ga imali, a neki nisu. Uključeno je više od 50 vrsta raka, poput raka debelog crijeva, pluća i jajnik, a test je u 96 posto uzoraka točno otkrio vrstu raka, a u 85 posto pozitivnih slučajeva također je odredio izvorno mjesto raka. Test je posebno dobar u pronalaženju teško uočljivih karcinoma kao što su rak mozga i vrata, crijeva, pluća, gušterače i grla.

To je veliki korak naprijed u ranijem dijagnosticiranju tumora, kada ih je lakše liječiti i, u idealnom slučaju, izliječiti, nadaju se stručnjaci. Test je točan u više od 99 posto pozitivnih rezultata, ali bit će ključno još provjeriti njegovu točnost kako bi se izbjeglo lažno jamstvo. Gallerijev test, koji je razvila kalifornijska tvrtka Grail, traži različite promjene u komadićima genetskog koda koji cure iz različitih karcinoma u krvotok.

- Čini se da ovaj test krvi ima sve značajke potrebne za upotrebu na populacijskoj razini, kao test probira na više karcinoma - rekao je prof. Geoff Oxnard, jedan od vodećih istraživača, prenosi BBC. Dodao je da je test nakon uspješne kliničke validacije kod tisuća pacijenata sada zapravo u ograničenoj kliničkoj upotrebi.

- Prije nego što se počne rutinski koristiti, morat će se vidjeti rezultate ovakvih kliničkih studija kako bismo potpunije razumjeli učinkovitost testa. No sigurno je da neće proći puno vremena dok se ovaj potencijal ne pretvori u stvarnost -rekao je Oxnard.

- Otkrivanje karcinoma u najranijim fazama, kada su manje agresivni i izlječiviji, ima ogroman potencijal za spašavanje života i prijeko su nam potrebne tehnološke inovacije koje taj potencijal mogu pretvoriti u stvarnost. Iako je ovaj test još uvijek u ranoj fazi razvoja, početni rezultati su ohrabrujući. A ako se test može fino podesiti kako bi bio učinkovitiji u hvatanju raka u najranijim fazama, mogao bi postati alat za rano otkrivanje –-istaknuo je dr. David Crosby, voditelj programa ranog otkrivanja raka u Velikoj Britaniji.

- Ovaj bi se test mogao koristiti za podršku liječnicima opće prakse u kliničkim procjenama, ali potrebno je mnogo više istraživanja, u većem ispitivanju, kako bi se vidjelo može li poboljšati procjenu liječnika opće prakse i na kraju ishode pacijenata - također je rekao Crosby. Početni rezultati očekuju se sljedeće godine, a ako budu uspješni, u Engleskoj se planira proširiti uvođenje testa na dodatnih milijun ljudi 2024. i 2025. godine.

Krvni test koji može otkriti više od 50 vrsta raka, često prije bilo kakvih znakova ili simptoma, daje odlične rezultate u ograničenoj uporabi u kliničkim ispitivanjima, objavili su znanstvenici u Annals of Oncology.

Istraživači s Instituta za rak Dana-Farber i Medicinskog fakulteta Harvard, radeći s kolegama iz Velike Britanije s Instituta Francis Crick i University College London testirali su pet tisuće uzoraka pacijenata koji su posjetili svog liječnika opće prakse sa sumnjom na rak - neki su ga imali, a neki nisu. Uključeno je više od 50 vrsta raka, poput raka debelog crijeva, pluća i jajnik, a test je u 96 posto uzoraka točno otkrio vrstu raka, a u 85 posto pozitivnih slučajeva također je odredio izvorno mjesto raka. Test je posebno dobar u pronalaženju teško uočljivih karcinoma kao što su rak mozga i vrata, crijeva, pluća, gušterače i grla.

To je veliki korak naprijed u ranijem dijagnosticiranju tumora, kada ih je lakše liječiti i, u idealnom slučaju, izliječiti, nadaju se stručnjaci. Test je točan u više od 99 posto pozitivnih rezultata, ali bit će ključno još provjeriti njegovu točnost kako bi se izbjeglo lažno jamstvo. Gallerijev test, koji je razvila kalifornijska tvrtka Grail, traži različite promjene u komadićima genetskog koda koji cure iz različitih karcinoma u krvotok.

- Čini se da ovaj test krvi ima sve značajke potrebne za upotrebu na populacijskoj razini, kao test probira na više karcinoma - rekao je prof. Geoff Oxnard, jedan od vodećih istraživača, prenosi BBC. Dodao je da je test nakon uspješne kliničke validacije kod tisuća pacijenata sada zapravo u ograničenoj kliničkoj upotrebi.

Krvni test koji može otkriti više od 50 vrsta raka, često prije bilo kakvih znakova ili simptoma, daje odlične rezultate u ograničenoj uporabi u kliničkim ispitivanjima, objavili su znanstvenici u Annals of Oncology.

Istraživači s Instituta za rak Dana-Farber i Medicinskog fakulteta Harvard, radeći s kolegama iz Velike Britanije s Instituta Francis Crick i University College London testirali su pet tisuće uzoraka pacijenata koji su posjetili svog liječnika opće prakse sa sumnjom na rak - neki su ga imali, a neki nisu. Uključeno je više od 50 vrsta raka, poput raka debelog crijeva, pluća i jajnik, a test je u 96 posto uzoraka točno otkrio vrstu raka, a u 85 posto pozitivnih slučajeva također je odredio izvorno mjesto raka. Test je posebno dobar u pronalaženju teško uočljivih karcinoma kao što su rak mozga i vrata, crijeva, pluća, gušterače i grla.

To je veliki korak naprijed u ranijem dijagnosticiranju tumora, kada ih je lakše liječiti i, u idealnom slučaju, izliječiti, nadaju se stručnjaci. Test je točan u više od 99 posto pozitivnih rezultata, ali bit će ključno još provjeriti njegovu točnost kako bi se izbjeglo lažno jamstvo. Gallerijev test, koji je razvila kalifornijska tvrtka Grail, traži različite promjene u komadićima genetskog koda koji cure iz različitih karcinoma u krvotok.

- Čini se da ovaj test krvi ima sve značajke potrebne za upotrebu na populacijskoj razini, kao test probira na više karcinoma - rekao je prof. Geoff Oxnard, jedan od vodećih istraživača, prenosi BBC. Dodao je da je test nakon uspješne kliničke validacije kod tisuća pacijenata sada zapravo u ograničenoj kliničkoj upotrebi.
