Kada je 2002. godine predstavljena prva generacija Sorenta, taj legendarni terenac, s kojim je krenuo Kijin streloviti uspon što se kvalitete tiče, imao je robusnu šasiju koja je nudila puno prostora i nevjerojatne terenske mogućnosti. 

Prelaskom na monocoque karoseriju s drugom generacijom Sorenta 2009. godine došlo je do promjene voznih osobina. Kijina nova platforma sportskog terenca predstavlja sličan iskorak najnovije generacije Sorenta, koji postavlja nove standarde u segmentu na području prostranosti, praktičnosti, učinkovitosti i kvalitete.

Sorento četvrte generacije, koji je zasigurno najznačajniji Kijin model u ovoj godini, imat će svjetsku premijeru početkom ožujka na međunarodnom salonu automobila u Ženevi. Za sada je poznato da će Sorento četvrte generacije biti prvi Kijin SUV na novoj platformi. S kompaktnim prostorom za motor, kraćim prevjesima i dužim međuosovinskim razmakom, platforma omogućava potpuno novi dizajn i držanje na cesti, te nudi udobniju i zabavniju vožnju.

Najveći Kijin SUV duži je u odnosu na prethodnika 10 milimetara (4790 mm), dok je međuosovinski razmak povećan za dodatnih 35 milimetara, pa sada iznosi 2815 mm. Unutrašnjost nudi više prostora od većine konkurenata, a inteligentna konstrukcija Sorentu jamči najveću zapreminu prtljažnika u segmentu velikih sportskih terenaca.

Najnovija platforma namijenjena je u prvom redu novom „Smartstream“ turbohibridnom pogonu. Novi pogonski sustav, koji je Sorentov prvi elektrificirani pogon, donosi 1.6-litreni T-GDi turbobenzinski motor, elektromotor snage 44,2 kW i litij-ionski polimerni baterijski sklop kapaciteta 1,49 kWh. Benzinski i elektromotor zajedno isporučuju 230 KS i 350 Nm okretnog momenta. Uz ove solidne mogućnosti potrebno je spomenuti i niske emisije novog elektrificiranog pogona.

Inteligentna konstrukcija nove platforme omogućava postavljanje baterijskog sklopa ispod vozila bez zadiranja u kabinu ili prtljažni prostor. Sorentov novi 4-cilindarski 2.2-litreni „Smartstream“ dizelski motor, koji će biti u ponudi u Europi i Južnoj Koreji, proizvodi 202 KS, a njegov okretni moment iznosi 440 Nm.

Motor prenosi snagu preko Kijina novog 8-stupanjskog mjenjača s dvostrukom (mokrom) spojkom (8DCT), koji je nastao s ciljem pružanja uglađenog prijenosa karakterističnog za uobičajene automatske mjenjače, dok je ujedno unaprijeđen u odnosu na mjenjač sa suhom dvostrukom spojkom. Uskoro se očekuju još neki novi pogonski agregati, između ostalog i plug-in hibridna izvedba.

Pored nove platforme i pogona, novi Sorento dobio je brojne visokotehnološke sustave pomoći s područja sigurnosti i udobnosti, zbog kojih se razlikuje od ostalih sportskih terenaca. To su primjerice Kijin prvi višestupanjski kočioni sustav, koji smanjuje posljedice sekundarnih sudara.

Sustav automatski koči u slučaju aktiviranja zračnih jastuka nakon početnog sudara, čime štiti putnike od sekundarnih frontalnih ili bočnih sudara. Višestupanjski kočioni sustav će zbog pružanja veće sigurnosti nuditi osam zračnih jastuka, između ostalog središnji između prednjih sjedala te airbag za koljena vozača i suvozača.

Kada je 2002. godine predstavljena prva generacija Sorenta, taj legendarni terenac, s kojim je krenuo Kijin streloviti uspon što se kvalitete tiče, imao je robusnu šasiju koja je nudila puno prostora i nevjerojatne terenske mogućnosti. 

Prelaskom na monocoque karoseriju s drugom generacijom Sorenta 2009. godine došlo je do promjene voznih osobina. Kijina nova platforma sportskog terenca predstavlja sličan iskorak najnovije generacije Sorenta, koji postavlja nove standarde u segmentu na području prostranosti, praktičnosti, učinkovitosti i kvalitete.

Sorento četvrte generacije, koji je zasigurno najznačajniji Kijin model u ovoj godini, imat će svjetsku premijeru početkom ožujka na međunarodnom salonu automobila u Ženevi. Za sada je poznato da će Sorento četvrte generacije biti prvi Kijin SUV na novoj platformi. S kompaktnim prostorom za motor, kraćim prevjesima i dužim međuosovinskim razmakom, platforma omogućava potpuno novi dizajn i držanje na cesti, te nudi udobniju i zabavniju vožnju.

Najveći Kijin SUV duži je u odnosu na prethodnika 10 milimetara (4790 mm), dok je međuosovinski razmak povećan za dodatnih 35 milimetara, pa sada iznosi 2815 mm. Unutrašnjost nudi više prostora od većine konkurenata, a inteligentna konstrukcija Sorentu jamči najveću zapreminu prtljažnika u segmentu velikih sportskih terenaca.

Najnovija platforma namijenjena je u prvom redu novom „Smartstream“ turbohibridnom pogonu. Novi pogonski sustav, koji je Sorentov prvi elektrificirani pogon, donosi 1.6-litreni T-GDi turbobenzinski motor, elektromotor snage 44,2 kW i litij-ionski polimerni baterijski sklop kapaciteta 1,49 kWh. Benzinski i elektromotor zajedno isporučuju 230 KS i 350 Nm okretnog momenta. Uz ove solidne mogućnosti potrebno je spomenuti i niske emisije novog elektrificiranog pogona.

Inteligentna konstrukcija nove platforme omogućava postavljanje baterijskog sklopa ispod vozila bez zadiranja u kabinu ili prtljažni prostor. Sorentov novi 4-cilindarski 2.2-litreni „Smartstream“ dizelski motor, koji će biti u ponudi u Europi i Južnoj Koreji, proizvodi 202 KS, a njegov okretni moment iznosi 440 Nm.

Motor prenosi snagu preko Kijina novog 8-stupanjskog mjenjača s dvostrukom (mokrom) spojkom (8DCT), koji je nastao s ciljem pružanja uglađenog prijenosa karakterističnog za uobičajene automatske mjenjače, dok je ujedno unaprijeđen u odnosu na mjenjač sa suhom dvostrukom spojkom. Uskoro se očekuju još neki novi pogonski agregati, između ostalog i plug-in hibridna izvedba.

Pored nove platforme i pogona, novi Sorento dobio je brojne visokotehnološke sustave pomoći s područja sigurnosti i udobnosti, zbog kojih se razlikuje od ostalih sportskih terenaca. To su primjerice Kijin prvi višestupanjski kočioni sustav, koji smanjuje posljedice sekundarnih sudara.

Sustav automatski koči u slučaju aktiviranja zračnih jastuka nakon početnog sudara, čime štiti putnike od sekundarnih frontalnih ili bočnih sudara. Višestupanjski kočioni sustav će zbog pružanja veće sigurnosti nuditi osam zračnih jastuka, između ostalog središnji između prednjih sjedala te airbag za koljena vozača i suvozača.

Kada je 2002. godine predstavljena prva generacija Sorenta, taj legendarni terenac, s kojim je krenuo Kijin streloviti uspon što se kvalitete tiče, imao je robusnu šasiju koja je nudila puno prostora i nevjerojatne terenske mogućnosti.
