Čak i u vrijeme najmračnijih dana hladnog rata u 20. stoljeću ruske operne i baletne zvijezde redovito su odlazile nastupati na Zapad, no ovaj put stvari stoje drukčije: uvodi se znatno stroži kulturni bojkot.

U manje od tjedan dana, neki od vodećih svjetskih plesača, opernih pjevača i dirigenata ostali su bez posla na Zapadu nakon ruske invazije na Ukrajinu. Njihovi su nastupi otkazani, a karijere ugrožene.

"Čak i na vrhuncu hladnog rata, kulturna razmjena između ruskih, američki i europskih umjetnika se nastavila. Naravno, uvijek je bilo napetosti, no bilo je izvedivo”, rekao je ravnatelj njujorške operne kuće Metropolitan Peter Gelb i dodao da današnja situacija nadilazi hladni rat i da se radi o „pravome ratu”.

Gelb, koji je nekoliko dana prije invazije bio u Moskvi radi dogovora o zajedničkoj produkciji s Boljšoj teatrom, zna o čemu govori.

Kao agent mladih talenata, predstavljao je legendarnog rusko-američkog pijanist Vladimira Horowitza i organizirao njegov povratak u Sovjetsku Rusiju kada se zemlja otvarala u osamdesetim godinama.

Gelb je također snimio koncert ruskog čelista Mstislava Rostropoviča za vrijeme njegova povratka u istom razdoblju.

Balet je predstavljao osobit izvor meke moći za Sovjetski Savez, a gostovanja su na Zapadu započela u pedesetim godinama, no uvijek su bila pod strogim nadzorom domaćina, ali i sigurnosne službe KGB-a.

Neka od tih gostovanja upisala su se u knjige povijesti: poput posjeta Boljšoj teatra Londonu 1956. ili teatra Kirov (kasnije nazvanog Marijinski) Parizu 1961., tijekom kojeg je legendarni plesač Rudolf Nurejev prebjegao na Zapad.

Istodobno je Zapad u suprotnom pravcu slao svoje izaslanike: Američki baletni teatar prvi je put nastupio u Moskvi 1960., a dvije godine nakon toga, usred kubanske raketne krize, ondje je nastupio i Njujorški gradski balet.

Nakon raspada SSSR-a, broj razmjena se povećao i poznati ruski plesači pozivani su posvuda. Čak su postali vodeći članovi umjetničkih družina na Zapadu, poput Svetlane Zaharove, "carice” plesa, koja je imala glavne plesačke uloge i u Boljšoju i u milanskom teatru La Scali.

David Hallberg, Amerikanac, postao je glavni plesač teatra Boljšoj 2011., što je nekada bilo nezamislivo, za razliku od današnjih okolnosti. 

"U trenutačnom kontekstu brutalnosti prema nevinim građanima ne postoji mogućnost razmjena poput onih u vrijeme hladnog rata”, kazao je Gelb.

Metropolitan je raskinuo svoju suradnju s Boljšojem i bojkotirat će sve umjetnike bliske Putinu, a istu odluku su donijeli Pariška opera i mnoga druga mjesta diljem Europe.

Posjet Boljšoj teatra Londonu, koji je bio predviđen za ovo ljeto, otkazan je.

Ruski koreograf Aleksej Ratmanskij, bivši ravnatelj Boljšoja koji je odrastao u Kijevu, odustao je od nove baletne priredbe koju je pripremao u Moskvi i vratio se kući u New York.

Laurent Hilaire, francuski ravnatelj moskovskog baleta Stanislavski, podnio je ostavku na dotadašnju funkciju koju je obavljao pet godina. 

Dvije superzvijezde, koje se smatraju bliskima Putinu, posebno su teško prošle.

Dirigent Valerij Gergijev, kojega smatraju najboljim u njegovoj generaciji, smijenjen je s mjesta ravnatelja Minhenske filharmonije i mnoga su ga kazališta, a i njegov vlastiti agent, proglasili personom non grata.

I sopranistica Anna Netrebko, međunarodna kraljica opere, otkazuje svoje nastupe u Metropolitanu.

Laurent Bayle, bivši upravitelj Pariške filharmonije, rekao je da se tim umjetnicima ostavlja malo prostora za rad izvan Rusije, osobito kad se uzme u obzir da Kina ostaje gotovo u potpunosti zatvorena zbog pandemije covida-19.

"Ostat će u vlastitoj zemlji. Tri četvrtine njihova djelovanja dovedeno je u pitanje”, rekao je Bayle.

Ako sadašnji rat završi dugotrajnom okupacijom Ukrajine "sigurno nitko neće riskirati” i pozivati ruske umjetnike, dodao je.

Očito je da će se napraviti iznimke za one koji su i sami bili žrtve Putinova režima ili ga otvoreno kritiziraju.

No malo je vjerojatno da će ustanove poput Boljšoja ili Marijinskog teatra, koje su pod pokroviteljstvom države, biti pošteđene.

"One koriste javno financiranje i u očima svijeta govoriti o Boljšoju znači govoriti o ruskoj državi”, rekao je Bayle.

Čak i u vrijeme najmračnijih dana hladnog rata u 20. stoljeću ruske operne i baletne zvijezde redovito su odlazile nastupati na Zapad, no ovaj put stvari stoje drukčije: uvodi se znatno stroži kulturni bojkot.

U manje od tjedan dana, neki od vodećih svjetskih plesača, opernih pjevača i dirigenata ostali su bez posla na Zapadu nakon ruske invazije na Ukrajinu. Njihovi su nastupi otkazani, a karijere ugrožene.

"Čak i na vrhuncu hladnog rata, kulturna razmjena između ruskih, američki i europskih umjetnika se nastavila. Naravno, uvijek je bilo napetosti, no bilo je izvedivo”, rekao je ravnatelj njujorške operne kuće Metropolitan Peter Gelb i dodao da današnja situacija nadilazi hladni rat i da se radi o „pravome ratu”.

Gelb, koji je nekoliko dana prije invazije bio u Moskvi radi dogovora o zajedničkoj produkciji s Boljšoj teatrom, zna o čemu govori.

Kao agent mladih talenata, predstavljao je legendarnog rusko-američkog pijanist Vladimira Horowitza i organizirao njegov povratak u Sovjetsku Rusiju kada se zemlja otvarala u osamdesetim godinama.

Gelb je također snimio koncert ruskog čelista Mstislava Rostropoviča za vrijeme njegova povratka u istom razdoblju.

Balet je predstavljao osobit izvor meke moći za Sovjetski Savez, a gostovanja su na Zapadu započela u pedesetim godinama, no uvijek su bila pod strogim nadzorom domaćina, ali i sigurnosne službe KGB-a.

Neka od tih gostovanja upisala su se u knjige povijesti: poput posjeta Boljšoj teatra Londonu 1956. ili teatra Kirov (kasnije nazvanog Marijinski) Parizu 1961., tijekom kojeg je legendarni plesač Rudolf Nurejev prebjegao na Zapad.

Istodobno je Zapad u suprotnom pravcu slao svoje izaslanike: Američki baletni teatar prvi je put nastupio u Moskvi 1960., a dvije godine nakon toga, usred kubanske raketne krize, ondje je nastupio i Njujorški gradski balet.

Nakon raspada SSSR-a, broj razmjena se povećao i poznati ruski plesači pozivani su posvuda. Čak su postali vodeći članovi umjetničkih družina na Zapadu, poput Svetlane Zaharove, "carice” plesa, koja je imala glavne plesačke uloge i u Boljšoju i u milanskom teatru La Scali.

David Hallberg, Amerikanac, postao je glavni plesač teatra Boljšoj 2011., što je nekada bilo nezamislivo, za razliku od današnjih okolnosti. 

"U trenutačnom kontekstu brutalnosti prema nevinim građanima ne postoji mogućnost razmjena poput onih u vrijeme hladnog rata”, kazao je Gelb.

Metropolitan je raskinuo svoju suradnju s Boljšojem i bojkotirat će sve umjetnike bliske Putinu, a istu odluku su donijeli Pariška opera i mnoga druga mjesta diljem Europe.

Posjet Boljšoj teatra Londonu, koji je bio predviđen za ovo ljeto, otkazan je.

Ruski koreograf Aleksej Ratmanskij, bivši ravnatelj Boljšoja koji je odrastao u Kijevu, odustao je od nove baletne priredbe koju je pripremao u Moskvi i vratio se kući u New York.

Laurent Hilaire, francuski ravnatelj moskovskog baleta Stanislavski, podnio je ostavku na dotadašnju funkciju koju je obavljao pet godina. 

Dvije superzvijezde, koje se smatraju bliskima Putinu, posebno su teško prošle.

Dirigent Valerij Gergijev, kojega smatraju najboljim u njegovoj generaciji, smijenjen je s mjesta ravnatelja Minhenske filharmonije i mnoga su ga kazališta, a i njegov vlastiti agent, proglasili personom non grata.

I sopranistica Anna Netrebko, međunarodna kraljica opere, otkazuje svoje nastupe u Metropolitanu.

Laurent Bayle, bivši upravitelj Pariške filharmonije, rekao je da se tim umjetnicima ostavlja malo prostora za rad izvan Rusije, osobito kad se uzme u obzir da Kina ostaje gotovo u potpunosti zatvorena zbog pandemije covida-19.

"Ostat će u vlastitoj zemlji. Tri četvrtine njihova djelovanja dovedeno je u pitanje”, rekao je Bayle.

Ako sadašnji rat završi dugotrajnom okupacijom Ukrajine "sigurno nitko neće riskirati” i pozivati ruske umjetnike, dodao je.

Očito je da će se napraviti iznimke za one koji su i sami bili žrtve Putinova režima ili ga otvoreno kritiziraju.

No malo je vjerojatno da će ustanove poput Boljšoja ili Marijinskog teatra, koje su pod pokroviteljstvom države, biti pošteđene.

"One koriste javno financiranje i u očima svijeta govoriti o Boljšoju znači govoriti o ruskoj državi”, rekao je Bayle.

Čak i u vrijeme najmračnijih dana hladnog rata u 20. stoljeću ruske operne i baletne zvijezde redovito su odlazile nastupati na Zapad, no ovaj put stvari stoje drukčije: uvodi se znatno stroži kulturni bojkot.

U manje od tjedan dana, neki od vodećih svjetskih plesača, opernih pjevača i dirigenata ostali su bez posla na Zapadu nakon ruske invazije na Ukrajinu. Njihovi su nastupi otkazani, a karijere ugrožene.

"Čak i na vrhuncu hladnog rata, kulturna razmjena između ruskih, američki i europskih umjetnika se nastavila. Naravno, uvijek je bilo napetosti, no bilo je izvedivo”, rekao je ravnatelj njujorške operne kuće Metropolitan Peter Gelb i dodao da današnja situacija nadilazi hladni rat i da se radi o „pravome ratu”.
