Multipli posao obavio je popularni glumac Viggo Mortensen na filmu "Obiteljska priča" ("Falling"), tempiranom za post-EU Oscar distribuciju u hrvatskim kinima od nadolazećeg četvrtka. Viggo se našao među glumačkim nominentima za nagradu Europske filmske akademije u drami koju je, kao "renesansni čovjek", sam režirao, producirao, napisao i skladao, uz to što je i glumio.

Ovo je prva EFA nominacija za hollywoodskog glumca danskog podrijetla, nakon što je dosad već triput bio nominiran za američkog Oscara zahvaljujući odličnim ulogama u "Eastern Promises", "Captain Fantastic" i, nedavno, "Green Book".

Mortensenov autorski prvijenac je najbolji upravo u glumi, odnosno režiji glumaca, među kojima se, u maloj ulozi proktologa, nalazi i njegov kućni redatelj, majstor tjelesnog horora David Cronenberg ("Povijest nasilja, "Ruska obećanja", "Opasna metoda").

Dojmljivu dramsku ulogu dao je Lance Henriksen, živopisni hollywoodski "supporting actor" norveškog podrijetla iz niza žanrovskih kultova/klasika osamdesetih i devedesetih s potpisom Jamesa Camerona ("Terminator", "Aliens"), Kathryn Bigelow ("Blizu tame"), Johna Wooa ("Teška meta") i Sama Raimija ("Brzi i mrtvi")...

Henriksen je rijetko dramski angažiran za festivalske/umjetničke filmove i Mortensen je drugi redatelj nakon Jima Jarmuscha ("Mrtav čovjek") koji se odvažio dati mu ulogu u jednom takvom ostvarenju, k tome glavnu. Premijerno prikazana na Sundance Film Festivalu, "Obiteljska priča" predstavlja Henriksena u intenzivnoj i energičnoj ulozi Willisa, konzervativnog, strogog i dementnog starca, oca Mortensenovu Johnu, koji nježnost pokazuje jedino prema unuci (Gabby Velis).

Komplicirani i kompleksni odnos oca i sina temelj je obiteljske drame koja se odmotava i u sjećanjima iz prošlosti, gdje Willisa glumi Sverrir Gudason, s ciljem da pokušamo mariti za njega i proniknemo u um emotivnog zlostavljača.

Zbog naglih prijelaza u karakternoj drami, tj. ponašanju lika, a možda i nepouzdanog sjećanja, flešbekovi ne daju potpun odgovor kako je Willis postao takav kakav jest na temelju interakcija s uskoro bivšom suprugom (Hannah Gross) i djecom, ali umiju biti režijski efektni u dočaravanju osjetnog i osjetilnog, sugerirajući Viggov filmaški potencijal.

Ipak je Moretensen surađivao s nizom velikih režisera, od Briana De Palme ("Carlitov način"), Ridleyja Scotta ("G.I. Jane") i Petera Jacksona ("LOTR") do Cronenberga. Glumio je i u redateljskom prvijencu glumca Seana Penna ("The Indian Runner") koji ga je možda i inspirirao da stane iza kamere i ispriča (polu)autobiografsku priču kao sin dementnih i razvedenih roditelja.

Sve da Viggo nije otkrio da je scenu s mrtvom patkom preuzeo iz vlastita djetinjstva, osjećaj nečeg duboko osobnog i emotivnog prožima njegov plemenitu i dobronamjernu dramu posvećenu braći. Zato je šteta da filmu povremeno nedostaje osobnosti i autentičnosti, iskrenih emocija, ako je već razumljivo da Mortensen u svom debitantskom filmaškom ostvarenju nije kadar stopostotno prenijeti svoje osjećaje na gledatelja.

"Falling" znade nalikovati na slično postavljene obiteljske "kakav otac, takav sin" filmove iz nezavisne/festivalske provenijencije i teško je ne oteti se dojmu određene kalkulacije i umjetno stvorene drame u trendovskom priklanjanju LGBTQ kinematografiji. Tako je Willis, povrh svega, rasist i homofob, a John gay u braku s muškarcem azijskog podrijetla Ericom (Terry Chen), kako bi verbalna iskrenja mogla predvidljivije dosegnuti kipuću točku, unatoč Henriksenovoj nepredvidljivosti u ulozi.

Međutim, iskrenja na rubu repetitivnosti Mortensen znade prekinuti dobrom scenom, primjerice da se otac i sin rječkaju istovremeno sa svađanjem Johna Waynea i (posvojena) sina Montgomeryja Clifta iz vesterna "Crvena rijeka" Howarda Hawksa koji se vrti na televiziji. Najsnažnija, katarzična konfrontacija ostavljena je za sam kraj, kada Mortensen i Henriksen uspijevaju izvojevati opipljivi(ji) osjećaj obiteljske drame i potencijalno se zavući u srce glasača američke Akademije.

Glumci u usponu i veteranka

Mortensen prati zbivanja u svijetu filma i TV-a pa je uloge dodijelio mladim glumcima u usponu Sverriru Gudasonu ("Borg/McEnroe") i Hannah Gross ("Mindhunter"). Za ulogu odrasle sestre angažirao je veteranku Lauru Linney.

Multipli posao obavio je popularni glumac Viggo Mortensen na filmu "Obiteljska priča" ("Falling"), tempiranom za post-EU Oscar distribuciju u hrvatskim kinima od nadolazećeg četvrtka. Viggo se našao među glumačkim nominentima za nagradu Europske filmske akademije u drami koju je, kao "renesansni čovjek", sam režirao, producirao, napisao i skladao, uz to što je i glumio.

Ovo je prva EFA nominacija za hollywoodskog glumca danskog podrijetla, nakon što je dosad već triput bio nominiran za američkog Oscara zahvaljujući odličnim ulogama u "Eastern Promises", "Captain Fantastic" i, nedavno, "Green Book".

Mortensenov autorski prvijenac je najbolji upravo u glumi, odnosno režiji glumaca, među kojima se, u maloj ulozi proktologa, nalazi i njegov kućni redatelj, majstor tjelesnog horora David Cronenberg ("Povijest nasilja, "Ruska obećanja", "Opasna metoda").

Dojmljivu dramsku ulogu dao je Lance Henriksen, živopisni hollywoodski "supporting actor" norveškog podrijetla iz niza žanrovskih kultova/klasika osamdesetih i devedesetih s potpisom Jamesa Camerona ("Terminator", "Aliens"), Kathryn Bigelow ("Blizu tame"), Johna Wooa ("Teška meta") i Sama Raimija ("Brzi i mrtvi")...

Henriksen je rijetko dramski angažiran za festivalske/umjetničke filmove i Mortensen je drugi redatelj nakon Jima Jarmuscha ("Mrtav čovjek") koji se odvažio dati mu ulogu u jednom takvom ostvarenju, k tome glavnu. Premijerno prikazana na Sundance Film Festivalu, "Obiteljska priča" predstavlja Henriksena u intenzivnoj i energičnoj ulozi Willisa, konzervativnog, strogog i dementnog starca, oca Mortensenovu Johnu, koji nježnost pokazuje jedino prema unuci (Gabby Velis).

Komplicirani i kompleksni odnos oca i sina temelj je obiteljske drame koja se odmotava i u sjećanjima iz prošlosti, gdje Willisa glumi Sverrir Gudason, s ciljem da pokušamo mariti za njega i proniknemo u um emotivnog zlostavljača.

Zbog naglih prijelaza u karakternoj drami, tj. ponašanju lika, a možda i nepouzdanog sjećanja, flešbekovi ne daju potpun odgovor kako je Willis postao takav kakav jest na temelju interakcija s uskoro bivšom suprugom (Hannah Gross) i djecom, ali umiju biti režijski efektni u dočaravanju osjetnog i osjetilnog, sugerirajući Viggov filmaški potencijal.

Ipak je Moretensen surađivao s nizom velikih režisera, od Briana De Palme ("Carlitov način"), Ridleyja Scotta ("G.I. Jane") i Petera Jacksona ("LOTR") do Cronenberga. Glumio je i u redateljskom prvijencu glumca Seana Penna ("The Indian Runner") koji ga je možda i inspirirao da stane iza kamere i ispriča (polu)autobiografsku priču kao sin dementnih i razvedenih roditelja.

Sve da Viggo nije otkrio da je scenu s mrtvom patkom preuzeo iz vlastita djetinjstva, osjećaj nečeg duboko osobnog i emotivnog prožima njegov plemenitu i dobronamjernu dramu posvećenu braći. Zato je šteta da filmu povremeno nedostaje osobnosti i autentičnosti, iskrenih emocija, ako je već razumljivo da Mortensen u svom debitantskom filmaškom ostvarenju nije kadar stopostotno prenijeti svoje osjećaje na gledatelja.

"Falling" znade nalikovati na slično postavljene obiteljske "kakav otac, takav sin" filmove iz nezavisne/festivalske provenijencije i teško je ne oteti se dojmu određene kalkulacije i umjetno stvorene drame u trendovskom priklanjanju LGBTQ kinematografiji. Tako je Willis, povrh svega, rasist i homofob, a John gay u braku s muškarcem azijskog podrijetla Ericom (Terry Chen), kako bi verbalna iskrenja mogla predvidljivije dosegnuti kipuću točku, unatoč Henriksenovoj nepredvidljivosti u ulozi.

Međutim, iskrenja na rubu repetitivnosti Mortensen znade prekinuti dobrom scenom, primjerice da se otac i sin rječkaju istovremeno sa svađanjem Johna Waynea i (posvojena) sina Montgomeryja Clifta iz vesterna "Crvena rijeka" Howarda Hawksa koji se vrti na televiziji. Najsnažnija, katarzična konfrontacija ostavljena je za sam kraj, kada Mortensen i Henriksen uspijevaju izvojevati opipljivi(ji) osjećaj obiteljske drame i potencijalno se zavući u srce glasača američke Akademije.

Mortensen prati zbivanja u svijetu filma i TV-a pa je uloge dodijelio mladim glumcima u usponu Sverriru Gudasonu ("Borg/McEnroe") i Hannah Gross ("Mindhunter"). Za ulogu odrasle sestre angažirao je veteranku Lauru Linney.
