Čistačica i udovica iz Londona pedesetih godina odlazi u Pariz kako bi ispunila snove i kupila vlastitu haljinu s potpisom Christiana Diora nakon što se na prvi pogled zaljubila u "haute couture" komad svoje klijentice. Postavka je to romana "Gospođa Harris ide u Pariz" ("Mrs. Harris Goes To Paris") američkog spisatelja Paula Gallica iz 1958. godine.

---Nesvakidašnja priča doprla je do srca postratne publike i inicirala Gallica da kreira serijal od nekoliko nastavaka. Roman je zaživio i na televiziji u nekoliko ekranizacija (u jednoj je titularni ženski lik glumila Angela Lansbury), a bio je postavljen i na kazališne daske kao mjuzikl.
Prošle godine napokon je snimljen i više nego solidan film redatelja Anthonyja Fabiana s Lesley Manville u glavnoj ulozi, koji je hrvatsku premijeru upravo doživio na SkyShowtimeu. Ako se već toliko dugo čekalo da gospođa Harris ode u Pariz i na filmu, ekranizacija je, reklo bi se, stigla u pravo vrijeme.
Posljednjih godina sve je više filmova za sredovječnu, zreliju (žensku) publiku iznad 50. ili 60., kao što su "Hotel Marigold", "Navijačice", "Klub zadovoljnih žena", "Downton Abbey", "Dobra kuća", "Sretno, Leo Grande"... "Gospođa Harris ide u Pariz" fino se uklapa u taj filmski trend.
Velika gledanost eskapističke serije "Emily u Parizu", odnosno dodatna popularizacija Grada svjetlosti, dodatno ide u prilog tajmingu filma. Postoji i opipljiva poveznica između serije i filma u vidu glumca Lucasa Brava, a kad smo kod "Diora", nedavno smo gledali i "Visoku modu" o glavnoj krojačici čuvene modne kuće pred skorom mirovinom.
S "Mrs. Harris Goes To Paris" mame ili bake gledateljica "Emily" dobile su nešto (znatno bolje) za sebe, kao i ljubiteljice spomenutih filmova za žene u zlatnim godinama i fanovi Diorove "haute couture". "Gospođa Harris ide u Pariz" kvalitetan je primjerak bajkovitog "feel good" filma, gotovo pa fantazija nakon koje se gledatelj/gledateljica osjeća bolje i ponovno vjeruje u snove i njihovo ispunjenje. San je naveo gđu Adu Harris, skromnu čistačicu, da se otisne u Pariz, a to će joj iskustvo promijeniti život.

Promjena je gđi Harris trebala nakon nestanka, a zatim i gubitka supruga Eddieja, pilota RAF-a, u Drugom svjetskom ratu. Haljina Diore motivirala ju je da se zaputi u Pariz i iskoristi svu ušteđevinu, 500 funti (danas bi to bilo oko 12.000), za ostvarenje snova, posebice kad su je za tu odluku dodatno osokolili prijateljica Vi (Ellen Thomas) i prijatelj Archie (Jason Isaacs), mogući novi muškarac u njezinu životu.
Dolaskom u Pariz gđa Harris posjećuje modnu kuću "Dior", gdje upoznaje direktoricu Claudine Colbert (diva francuske kinematografije Isabelle Huppert), top-model Natashu (Alba Baptista) i računovođu Andrea (Bravo), ali u pariškim krugovima susreće i markiza de Chassagnea (Lambert Wilson), koji je isprva jedini podržava i poziva na modnu reviju. U filmu se, uzgred, nakratko pojavljuje i sam Dior, kojega glumi Philippe Bertin.
Naravno, Claudine odbija prihvatiti gđu Harris kao klijenticu budući da je žena iz radničke klase i tko je vidio da, kao takva, nosi Dior. Tračak društveno-političkog podteksta na temu razlika u klasama opstoji u "Mrs. Harris Goes To Paris", ali posrijedi je ponajprije šarmantna, razoružavajuća bajka.
Ovo je "Pepeljuga" u zrelim godinama, film raskošne kostimografije s potpisom trostruke oskarovke Jenny Beavan ("Kraljev govor", "Pobješnjeli Max: Divlja cesta", "Cruella"), prepune haljina koje će mnoge gledateljice poželjeti, baš poput protagonistice u izvrsnom tumačenju Manville.
Interesantno, nekoliko godina prije filma "Gospođa Harris ide u Pariz" Manville je odigrala sporednu ulogu sestre perfekcionističkog modnog dizajnera (Daniel Day-Lewis) u "Fantomskoj niti", "fashion" drami također ambijentiranoj u pedesete. No dok su "Phantom Thread" i njezina uloga bili hladni i distancirani, "Mrs. Harris Goes To Paris" topao je i ljudski film.
Vrhunska britanska glumica najviše profitira od "Gospođe Harris" jer ne dobiva često glavne uloge ("Još jedna godina" Mikea Leigha, "Sasvim obična ljubav" s Liamom Neesonom), kamoli u visokoprofilnim filmovima, odnosno češće se, kao karakterna glumica, nalazi u sporednima ("Gospodin Turner", "Skandalozno ponašanje", "Let Him Go", "Kruna 5").

Ovakve uloge obično tumače velike zvijezde poput Meryl Streep, Helen Mirren ili Emme Thompson, zato svaka čast producentima što su dali priliku manje poznatoj glumici. Manville je opravdala povjerenje i osvojila nominaciju za Zlatni globus u malom filmu koji je zaradio više od 30 milijuna dolara u svjetskim kinima. Enchanté.

Postavka je to romana "Gospođa Harris ide u Pariz" ("Mrs. Harris Goes To Paris") američkog spisatelja Paula Gallica iz 1958. godine. ---
Nesvakidašnja priča doprla je do srca postratne publike i inicirala Gallica da kreira serijal od nekoliko nastavaka. Roman je zaživio i na televiziji u nekoliko ekranizacija (u jednoj je titularni ženski lik glumila Angela Lansbury), a bio je postavljen i na kazališne daske kao mjuzikl.
Prošle godine napokon je snimljen i više nego solidan film redatelja Anthonyja Fabiana s Lesley Manville u glavnoj ulozi, koji je hrvatsku premijeru upravo doživio na SkyShowtimeu. Ako se već toliko dugo čekalo da gospođa Harris ode u Pariz i na filmu, ekranizacija je, reklo bi se, stigla u pravo vrijeme.
Posljednjih godina sve je više filmova za sredovječnu, zreliju (žensku) publiku iznad 50. ili 60., kao što su "Hotel Marigold", "Navijačice", "Klub zadovoljnih žena", "Downton Abbey", "Dobra kuća", "Sretno, Leo Grande"... "Gospođa Harris ide u Pariz" fino se uklapa u taj filmski trend.
Velika gledanost eskapističke serije "Emily u Parizu", odnosno dodatna popularizacija Grada svjetlosti, dodatno ide u prilog tajmingu filma. Postoji i opipljiva poveznica između serije i filma u vidu glumca Lucasa Brava, a kad smo kod "Diora", nedavno smo gledali i "Visoku modu" o glavnoj krojačici čuvene modne kuće pred skorom mirovinom.
S "Mrs. Harris Goes To Paris" mame ili bake gledateljica "Emily" dobile su nešto (znatno bolje) za sebe, kao i ljubiteljice spomenutih filmova za žene u zlatnim godinama i fanovi Diorove "haute couture". "Gospođa Harris ide u Pariz" kvalitetan je primjerak bajkovitog "feel good" filma, gotovo pa fantazija nakon koje se gledatelj/gledateljica osjeća bolje i ponovno vjeruje u snove i njihovo ispunjenje. San je naveo gđu Adu Harris, skromnu čistačicu, da se otisne u Pariz, a to će joj iskustvo promijeniti život.

Promjena je gđi Harris trebala nakon nestanka, a zatim i gubitka supruga Eddieja, pilota RAF-a, u Drugom svjetskom ratu. Haljina Diore motivirala ju je da se zaputi u Pariz i iskoristi svu ušteđevinu, 500 funti (danas bi to bilo oko 12.000), za ostvarenje snova, posebice kad su je za tu odluku dodatno osokolili prijateljica Vi (Ellen Thomas) i prijatelj Archie (Jason Isaacs), mogući novi muškarac u njezinu životu.
Dolaskom u Pariz gđa Harris posjećuje modnu kuću "Dior", gdje upoznaje direktoricu Claudine Colbert (diva francuske kinematografije Isabelle Huppert), top-model Natashu (Alba Baptista) i računovođu Andrea (Bravo), ali u pariškim krugovima susreće i markiza de Chassagnea (Lambert Wilson), koji je isprva jedini podržava i poziva na modnu reviju. U filmu se, uzgred, nakratko pojavljuje i sam Dior, kojega glumi Philippe Bertin.
Naravno, Claudine odbija prihvatiti gđu Harris kao klijenticu budući da je žena iz radničke klase i tko je vidio da, kao takva, nosi Dior. Tračak društveno-političkog podteksta na temu razlika u klasama opstoji u "Mrs. Harris Goes To Paris", ali posrijedi je ponajprije šarmantna, razoružavajuća bajka.
Ovo je "Pepeljuga" u zrelim godinama, film raskošne kostimografije s potpisom trostruke oskarovke Jenny Beavan ("Kraljev govor", "Pobješnjeli Max: Divlja cesta", "Cruella"), prepune haljina koje će mnoge gledateljice poželjeti, baš poput protagonistice u izvrsnom tumačenju Manville.
Interesantno, nekoliko godina prije filma "Gospođa Harris ide u Pariz" Manville je odigrala sporednu ulogu sestre perfekcionističkog modnog dizajnera (Daniel Day-Lewis) u "Fantomskoj niti", "fashion" drami također ambijentiranoj u pedesete. No dok su "Phantom Thread" i njezina uloga bili hladni i distancirani, "Mrs. Harris Goes To Paris" topao je i ljudski film.
Vrhunska britanska glumica najviše profitira od "Gospođe Harris" jer ne dobiva često glavne uloge ("Još jedna godina" Mikea Leigha, "Sasvim obična ljubav" s Liamom Neesonom), kamoli u visokoprofilnim filmovima, odnosno češće se, kao karakterna glumica, nalazi u sporednima ("Gospodin Turner", "Skandalozno ponašanje", "Let Him Go", "Kruna 5").

Ovakve uloge obično tumače velike zvijezde poput Meryl Streep, Helen Mirren ili Emme Thompson, zato svaka čast producentima što su dali priliku manje poznatoj glumici. Manville je opravdala povjerenje i osvojila nominaciju za Zlatni globus u malom filmu koji je zaradio više od 30 milijuna dolara u svjetskim kinima. Enchanté.
