Mađioničarski trik s golubovima koji izvodi “zvijezda scene i ekrana” Hector P. Valenti (raspoloženo osebujni oskarovac Javier Bardem) prilično je “passe” za današnje pojmove dječje zabave. To je “trik iz prošlog stoljeća”. “Pokaži im nešto što nikad nisu vidjeli, ovo danas nije vrijedno spomena”, savjet je za Hectora.

Uvod obiteljskog filma za djecu “Lil, Lil, krokodil” (“Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile”) krije određena metafilmska čitanja. Danas klincima više nije dovoljan stari trik s golubovima, oni žele nešto neviđeno, poput mede sklonog pekmezu od naranče (“Medvjedić Paddington 1&2”), pričajućeg zeke (“Petar Zecimir 1&2”) ili trometarskog četveronožnog ljubimca (“Veliki crveni pas Clifford”).

U to “neviđeno” uklapa se i krokodil koji pjeva i tako komunicira s okolinom, nosi šal oko vrata i živi na Manhattanu.

“Lil, Lil, krokodil” nastavlja trend obiteljskih-dječjih igranih filmova s neobičnim računalno-animiranim likovima i nemjerljivo je bolji od “Štrumpfova” i “Alvina i vjeverica”, a ako već ne doseže najvišu razinu “Paddingtona”, superiorniji je u odnosu na hit “Peter Rabbit” i li-la kao “Clifford”.

I ovdje je riječ o adaptaciji klasične slikovnice, one Bernarda Wabera iz 1962. godine, koju je scenaristički adaptirao Will Davies, specijaliziran za komedije (“Blizanci”, “Stani ili će moja mama pucati”, “Johnny English ponovno jaše”, “Johnny English: Ponovno na zadatku”) i dječje filmove (“Kako izdresirati zmaja”, “Mačak u čizmama”).

Pokojni Waber bi vjerojatno bio zadovoljan kako je njegovo djelo zaživjelo na velikom ekranu točno 60 godina nakon izvorne objave. Ovo je u suštini ugodan, topao i srčan obiteljski film baš za blagdansko doba godine, sa zaraznim pjesmama dua Benj Pasek-Justin Paul (“La La Land”, “Najveći showman”) i uvjerljivo integriranim vizualnim efektima.

Klinci će ga sigurno (za)voljeti, a ni roditeljima neće biti mrzak, neovisno o njihovoj inicijalnoj sumnjičavosti prema premisi o raspjevanom krokodilu s glasom mlade kanadske pop-zvijezde Shawna Mendesa. Priča filma redateljskog dvojca Josh Gordon-Will Speck (“Zamjena”, “Ludi Božić u uredu”) počinje kad Hector u potrazi za nečim neviđenim svrati u dućan egzotičnih životinja i čuje malog krokodila kao pjeva.

Hector ga nazove Lil, oni postaju nerazdvojeni prijatelji i pjevaju zajedno na tavanu, zamalo i na sceni, ali krokodil dobije tremu i ne uspije zapjevati i donijeti veliku zaradu vlasniku. Zbog toga do grla zaduženi Hector odlazi zaraditi novac, a Lil ostaje na tavanu (“Ako itko pita, reci da si plišanac”).

Tamo ga, 18 mjeseci kasnije, pronalazi klinac Josh Primm (Winslow Fegley) kad se tu doseli s mamom i tatom (Scott McNairy, Constance Wu). Isprve se klinac boji Lila, kao i njegovi roditelji, s obzirom da se od reptila poput njega očekuje da budu alfa predatori kao u filmovima “Užas iz rijeke” i “Plijen”, međutim ubrzo shvaćaju da nije opasan, već usamljen poput njih, prijateljski nastrojen i da u njima, posebice kad zapjeva, budi samopouzdanje koje im je prijeko potrebno kao novima u velikom gradu.

Pjesme poput “Take a Look at Us Now” i, napose, “Top Of The World” bude radosan duh i umiju se vinuti u nebesa kao u najboljim mjuziklima, od onih na kojima su radili Pasek i Paul do novijih kao što su “Priča sa zapadne strane”, “tick, tick... BOOM” i “Cyrano”. Krokodil pjeva, zlo ne misli.

Mađioničarski trik s golubovima koji izvodi “zvijezda scene i ekrana” Hector P. Valenti (raspoloženo osebujni oskarovac Javier Bardem) prilično je “passe” za današnje pojmove dječje zabave. To je “trik iz prošlog stoljeća”. “Pokaži im nešto što nikad nisu vidjeli, ovo danas nije vrijedno spomena”, savjet je za Hectora.

Uvod obiteljskog filma za djecu “Lil, Lil, krokodil” (“Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile”) krije određena metafilmska čitanja. Danas klincima više nije dovoljan stari trik s golubovima, oni žele nešto neviđeno, poput mede sklonog pekmezu od naranče (“Medvjedić Paddington 1&2”), pričajućeg zeke (“Petar Zecimir 1&2”) ili trometarskog četveronožnog ljubimca (“Veliki crveni pas Clifford”).

U to “neviđeno” uklapa se i krokodil koji pjeva i tako komunicira s okolinom, nosi šal oko vrata i živi na Manhattanu.

“Lil, Lil, krokodil” nastavlja trend obiteljskih-dječjih igranih filmova s neobičnim računalno-animiranim likovima i nemjerljivo je bolji od “Štrumpfova” i “Alvina i vjeverica”, a ako već ne doseže najvišu razinu “Paddingtona”, superiorniji je u odnosu na hit “Peter Rabbit” i li-la kao “Clifford”.

I ovdje je riječ o adaptaciji klasične slikovnice, one Bernarda Wabera iz 1962. godine, koju je scenaristički adaptirao Will Davies, specijaliziran za komedije (“Blizanci”, “Stani ili će moja mama pucati”, “Johnny English ponovno jaše”, “Johnny English: Ponovno na zadatku”) i dječje filmove (“Kako izdresirati zmaja”, “Mačak u čizmama”).

Pokojni Waber bi vjerojatno bio zadovoljan kako je njegovo djelo zaživjelo na velikom ekranu točno 60 godina nakon izvorne objave. Ovo je u suštini ugodan, topao i srčan obiteljski film baš za blagdansko doba godine, sa zaraznim pjesmama dua Benj Pasek-Justin Paul (“La La Land”, “Najveći showman”) i uvjerljivo integriranim vizualnim efektima.

Klinci će ga sigurno (za)voljeti, a ni roditeljima neće biti mrzak, neovisno o njihovoj inicijalnoj sumnjičavosti prema premisi o raspjevanom krokodilu s glasom mlade kanadske pop-zvijezde Shawna Mendesa. Priča filma redateljskog dvojca Josh Gordon-Will Speck (“Zamjena”, “Ludi Božić u uredu”) počinje kad Hector u potrazi za nečim neviđenim svrati u dućan egzotičnih životinja i čuje malog krokodila kao pjeva.

Hector ga nazove Lil, oni postaju nerazdvojeni prijatelji i pjevaju zajedno na tavanu, zamalo i na sceni, ali krokodil dobije tremu i ne uspije zapjevati i donijeti veliku zaradu vlasniku. Zbog toga do grla zaduženi Hector odlazi zaraditi novac, a Lil ostaje na tavanu (“Ako itko pita, reci da si plišanac”).

Tamo ga, 18 mjeseci kasnije, pronalazi klinac Josh Primm (Winslow Fegley) kad se tu doseli s mamom i tatom (Scott McNairy, Constance Wu). Isprve se klinac boji Lila, kao i njegovi roditelji, s obzirom da se od reptila poput njega očekuje da budu alfa predatori kao u filmovima “Užas iz rijeke” i “Plijen”, međutim ubrzo shvaćaju da nije opasan, već usamljen poput njih, prijateljski nastrojen i da u njima, posebice kad zapjeva, budi samopouzdanje koje im je prijeko potrebno kao novima u velikom gradu.

Pjesme poput “Take a Look at Us Now” i, napose, “Top Of The World” bude radosan duh i umiju se vinuti u nebesa kao u najboljim mjuziklima, od onih na kojima su radili Pasek i Paul do novijih kao što su “Priča sa zapadne strane”, “tick, tick... BOOM” i “Cyrano”. Krokodil pjeva, zlo ne misli.
