Na osnivačkoj skupštini održanoj u Muzeju dominikanskog samostana sv. Petra Mučenika u Starome Gradu, u nazočnosti 20 članova, jednoglasno je usvojena odluka o osnivanju ogranka Matice hrvatske.

Skupštinu je u ime pokretačkog odbora otvorila potpredsjednica Buratović koja je naglasila da je ogranak Matice hrvatske u Starome Gradu prvi put osnovan oko 1880. godine i djelovao do početka Prvog svjetskog rata.

Od 1888. do 1891. godine Matičin je povjerenik učitelj Mihovil Justinijanović. Iz godišnjega izvješća Glavnog odbora Matice za 1890. vidljivo je da te godine ogranak imao 16 članova, što je uz ogranke u Hvaru s 18 članova i u Jelsi s 42 člana, činilo snažnu nacionalnu jezgru na škoju.

Uslijedila su dva pokušaja ponovnoga osnutka, ali su oba neslavno završila, no u listopadu prošle godine pokrenut je postupak njegova ponovnog osnivanja nakon čega je Glavni odbor prihvatio tu inicijativu te ih primio u članstvo 20. studenoga.

Za predsjednika je izabran starješina samostana, fratar Ante Kazoti, za potpredsjednicu Marica Buratović, dok je tajnica Dragana Lazaneo Mandarić.

U ime središnjice Matice skup su pozdravili Mihovil Antić, tajnik, i Cvijeta Pavlović, pročelnica za književnost, a tijekom rada skupštine uz izborne aktivnosti predsjednik Kazoti se zahvalio na povjerenju te članstvu predstavio program rada i financijski plan.

U prigodnom programu sudjelovali su: Dragana Lazaneo Mandarić, glazbenice Davorka Čović i Jelena Gracin, Marica Buratović, dr. Aldo Čavić, Katija Beba Stančić i Damir Carić.

Na osnivačkoj skupštini održanoj u Muzeju dominikanskog samostana sv. Petra Mučenika u Starome Gradu, u nazočnosti 20 članova, jednoglasno je usvojena odluka o osnivanju ogranka Matice hrvatske.

Skupštinu je u ime pokretačkog odbora otvorila potpredsjednica Buratović koja je naglasila da je ogranak Matice hrvatske u Starome Gradu prvi put osnovan oko 1880. godine i djelovao do početka Prvog svjetskog rata.

Od 1888. do 1891. godine Matičin je povjerenik učitelj Mihovil Justinijanović. Iz godišnjega izvješća Glavnog odbora Matice za 1890. vidljivo je da te godine ogranak imao 16 članova, što je uz ogranke u Hvaru s 18 članova i u Jelsi s 42 člana, činilo snažnu nacionalnu jezgru na škoju.

Uslijedila su dva pokušaja ponovnoga osnutka, ali su oba neslavno završila, no u listopadu prošle godine pokrenut je postupak njegova ponovnog osnivanja nakon čega je Glavni odbor prihvatio tu inicijativu te ih primio u članstvo 20. studenoga.

Za predsjednika je izabran starješina samostana, fratar Ante Kazoti, za potpredsjednicu Marica Buratović, dok je tajnica Dragana Lazaneo Mandarić.

U ime središnjice Matice skup su pozdravili Mihovil Antić, tajnik, i Cvijeta Pavlović, pročelnica za književnost, a tijekom rada skupštine uz izborne aktivnosti predsjednik Kazoti se zahvalio na povjerenju te članstvu predstavio program rada i financijski plan.

U prigodnom programu sudjelovali su: Dragana Lazaneo Mandarić, glazbenice Davorka Čović i Jelena Gracin, Marica Buratović, dr. Aldo Čavić, Katija Beba Stančić i Damir Carić.
