Zašto komunalno poduzeće zaduženo za odvoz smeća pali otpad pokraj mjesnog groblja svetog Ivana Krstitelja u Župi Biokovskoj, umjesto da se otpad zbrinjava na način kako je to propisano, pitanje je koje postavljaju mještani Župe, koji ističu da su zabrinuti za svoje zdravlje.
Među njima je i Ivica Miloš, koji kaže da je ogorčen takvim postupanjem.

– Ne mogu vjerovati da pale smeće, a mi plaćamo nekakvu naknadu za održavanje groblja. Pokraj groblja je postavljen kontejner za glomazni otpad, a kad sam pitao djelatnike zašto to rade, rekli su mi da su tako radili godinama i da je to u redu – rekao nam je Ivica Miloš.
Načelnik općine Zagvozd Miroslav Gaće kaže da to nipošto nije uobičajena praksa, no da se katkad, istina, dogodi.

– Mi odvozimo smeće sa svih groblja, pa tako i s toga u Župi. Možda je bilo malo više smeća pa su zapalili višak, pogotovo ako se to događalo oko Dana mrtvih. Možda je bila koja svijeća ili vijenac, ali, kažem, mi imamo kontejner za glomazni otpad i brinemo se o tom otpadu – tvrdi načelnik Gaće.
Na drugim se grobljima, kako doznajemo, lampioni uglavnom posebno odvajaju, a paljenje čak i organskog otpada strogo je zabranjeno.
