Kao tvorac liberalnog švedskog odgovora na panedmiju koronavirusa, Anders Tegnell navikao je primati prijetnje smrću i pozive na ostavku.
Ali on ne namjerava odstupiti ili ustuknuti i uvjeren je da će se s vremenom njegov model pokazati ispravnim.
"Mislim da je velik broj zemalja trebao dvaput razmisliti prije poduzimanja vrlo drastičnih mjera ograničenja kretanja", rekao je u razgovoru za Reuters.
"To je bio eksperiment, a ne švedski model", uvjeren je.
I dok se većina zemalja sklupčala iza zatvorenih vrata, Švedska se oslonila na odgovornost svojih građana u održavanju socijalne distance, a većinu je škola, restorana, barova ostavila otvorenima.
Od ožujka švedska ekonomija nadmašuje ostatak Europe, ali njezinih više od 5.000 mrtvih od covida-19 višestruko nadmašuje broj mrtvih u susjednim zemljama Danskoj, Finskoj i Norveškoj zajedno.
Tegnell ima masu pristaša koje hvale njegov pristup. Pošto je glavni švedski epidemiolog ujedno i gorljivi vrtlar, na kuću je adresu dobivao tolike količine cvijeća da je njegov mjesni cvjećar zamolio da uspore s narudžbama.
Istodobno populistička stranka Švedskih demokrata stopu smrtnosti među starijom populacijom zaraženom koronavirusom naziva "masakrom" i traži njegovu ostavku, a policija istražuje prijetnje smrću koje je primio.
Tegnell (64), pomalo sijed i naborana čela, slaže se da je broj mrtvih "strašan", ali tvrdi da to nije posljedica liberalnog pristupa i ukazuje na loše stanje u domovima za starije i decentraliziran zdravstveni sustav.
Veteran borbe protiv ebole u Africi, smatra da se njegovi kritičari premalo bave posljedicama potpunog zatvaranja.
"Zadivljujuće je koliko smo malo razgovarali o vrlo negativnim posljedicama karantena u mnogim zemljama. Nasilje u obitelji.. djeca s problemima u školi", rekao je.
"Učinci različitih strategija, različitih mjera mnogo su složeniji nego što danas razumijemo. Ova bolest teška je za razumjeti", kaže.
Dodaje da su neke zemlje koje su uvele drastične mjere, poput Španjolske, Italije, Britanije, više propatile od Švedske.
Njega, pak, mnogo više čudi ponašanje švedskih nordijskih susjeda. "Jesu li oni uopće imali razloga da se zatvore, to je pitanje".
Ali je njegovo mišljenje u Europi u manjini. Ostale zemlje polako se otvaraju za turiste, ali malo koja prihvaća švedske. Ne žele ih zasad niti u nordijskim zemljama.
"Njihova strategija nije uspjela", kazao je Allan Randrup Thomsen, virolog s kopenhaškog sveučilišta. U Danskoj je stopa smrtnosti zaraženih po glavi stanovnika pet puta manja od švedske.
"Glavni razlog je taj što se nisu zatvorili kao Danska", uvjeren je Thomsen.

Kao tvorac liberalnog švedskog odgovora na panedmiju koronavirusa, Anders Tegnell navikao je primati prijetnje smrću i pozive na ostavku.
Ali on ne namjerava odstupiti ili ustuknuti i uvjeren je da će se s vremenom njegov model pokazati ispravnim.
"Mislim da je velik broj zemalja trebao dvaput razmisliti prije poduzimanja vrlo drastičnih mjera ograničenja kretanja", rekao je u razgovoru za Reuters.
"To je bio eksperiment, a ne švedski model", uvjeren je.
I dok se većina zemalja sklupčala iza zatvorenih vrata, Švedska se oslonila na odgovornost svojih građana u održavanju socijalne distance, a većinu je škola, restorana, barova ostavila otvorenima.
Od ožujka švedska ekonomija nadmašuje ostatak Europe, ali njezinih više od 5.000 mrtvih od covida-19 višestruko nadmašuje broj mrtvih u susjednim zemljama Danskoj, Finskoj i Norveškoj zajedno.
Tegnell ima masu pristaša koje hvale njegov pristup. Pošto je glavni švedski epidemiolog ujedno i gorljivi vrtlar, na kuću je adresu dobivao tolike količine cvijeća da je njegov mjesni cvjećar zamolio da uspore s narudžbama.
Istodobno populistička stranka Švedskih demokrata stopu smrtnosti među starijom populacijom zaraženom koronavirusom naziva "masakrom" i traži njegovu ostavku, a policija istražuje prijetnje smrću koje je primio.
Tegnell (64), pomalo sijed i naborana čela, slaže se da je broj mrtvih "strašan", ali tvrdi da to nije posljedica liberalnog pristupa i ukazuje na loše stanje u domovima za starije i decentraliziran zdravstveni sustav.
Veteran borbe protiv ebole u Africi, smatra da se njegovi kritičari premalo bave posljedicama potpunog zatvaranja.
"Zadivljujuće je koliko smo malo razgovarali o vrlo negativnim posljedicama karantena u mnogim zemljama. Nasilje u obitelji.. djeca s problemima u školi", rekao je.
"Učinci različitih strategija, različitih mjera mnogo su složeniji nego što danas razumijemo. Ova bolest teška je za razumjeti", kaže.
Dodaje da su neke zemlje koje su uvele drastične mjere, poput Španjolske, Italije, Britanije, više propatile od Švedske.
Njega, pak, mnogo više čudi ponašanje švedskih nordijskih susjeda. "Jesu li oni uopće imali razloga da se zatvore, to je pitanje".
Ali je njegovo mišljenje u Europi u manjini. Ostale zemlje polako se otvaraju za turiste, ali malo koja prihvaća švedske. Ne žele ih zasad niti u nordijskim zemljama.
"Njihova strategija nije uspjela", kazao je Allan Randrup Thomsen, virolog s kopenhaškog sveučilišta. U Danskoj je stopa smrtnosti zaraženih po glavi stanovnika pet puta manja od švedske.
"Glavni razlog je taj što se nisu zatvorili kao Danska", uvjeren je Thomsen.
