Egipat će urediti dodatnih 10 kilometara Sueskog kanala za dvosmjerni promet, a još 30 kilometara bit će prošireno i produbljeno, najavio je predsjednik uprave Sueskog kanala Osama Rabie.

Bilo bi preskupo proširiti cijeli, 190 kilometara dugi kanal koji povezuje Crveno more i Mediteran, ali dio koji omogućuje dvosmjerni promet trebao bi se produljiti sa sadašnjih 75 na 85 kilometara, objasnio je Rabie u utorak.

Globalni pomorski promet znatno je otežan u ožujku prošle godine nakon što je ogroman kontejnerski brod Ever Given zapeo u južnom dijelu kanala, blokiravši ključni pomorski pravac između Europe i Azije.

Planirano proširenje ubrzano je nakon te krize, rekao je Rabie, iako je cilj aktualnih radova poboljšanje sigurnosti prometa, te će nakon njihovog završetka prolaz kroz kanal i dalje trajati 11 sati.

Druga faza uključivat će proširenje kanala 30 kilometara do južnog ulaza za 40 metara, te njegovo produbljivanje za oko dva metra. Upravo je na tom dijelu kanala Ever Given zaglavio.

„To je težak dio kanala”, kazao je Rabie, dodavši da će „se na tom mjestu produbljivanjem i proširenjem poravnati zavoji u kanalu" i smanjiti utjecaj južnih vjetrova.

Projekt će koštati 3 milijarde egipatskih funti odnosno oko 191 milijun dolara, a bit će dovršen i otvoren do kraja lipnja 2023., rekao je.

Rekordni promet u 2021. godini - kanalom je prolazilo 56 brodova dnevno

Unatoč pandemiji i šestodnevnom zatvaranju zbog problema s kontejnerašem Ever Given, promet kroz Sueski kanal je u 2021. godini dosegao rekordne brojke.

Prema službenim podacima, kroz kanal su prošli brodovi sa ukupno 1,27 milijardi tona tereta.

Šef Suez Canal Authoritya Osama Rabie je rekao kako je za prolaz ukupno plaćeno 5,5 milijardi eura. On je dodao da je tijekom 2021. kanalom prošlo 20,694 brodova (18.830 u 2020.), odnosno 56 svakog dana.

Egipat će urediti dodatnih 10 kilometara Sueskog kanala za dvosmjerni promet, a još 30 kilometara bit će prošireno i produbljeno, najavio je predsjednik uprave Sueskog kanala Osama Rabie.

Bilo bi preskupo proširiti cijeli, 190 kilometara dugi kanal koji povezuje Crveno more i Mediteran, ali dio koji omogućuje dvosmjerni promet trebao bi se produljiti sa sadašnjih 75 na 85 kilometara, objasnio je Rabie u utorak.

Globalni pomorski promet znatno je otežan u ožujku prošle godine nakon što je ogroman kontejnerski brod Ever Given zapeo u južnom dijelu kanala, blokiravši ključni pomorski pravac između Europe i Azije.

Planirano proširenje ubrzano je nakon te krize, rekao je Rabie, iako je cilj aktualnih radova poboljšanje sigurnosti prometa, te će nakon njihovog završetka prolaz kroz kanal i dalje trajati 11 sati.

Druga faza uključivat će proširenje kanala 30 kilometara do južnog ulaza za 40 metara, te njegovo produbljivanje za oko dva metra. Upravo je na tom dijelu kanala Ever Given zaglavio.

„To je težak dio kanala”, kazao je Rabie, dodavši da će „se na tom mjestu produbljivanjem i proširenjem poravnati zavoji u kanalu" i smanjiti utjecaj južnih vjetrova.

Projekt će koštati 3 milijarde egipatskih funti odnosno oko 191 milijun dolara, a bit će dovršen i otvoren do kraja lipnja 2023., rekao je.

Rekordni promet u 2021. godini - kanalom je prolazilo 56 brodova dnevno

Unatoč pandemiji i šestodnevnom zatvaranju zbog problema s kontejnerašem Ever Given, promet kroz Sueski kanal je u 2021. godini dosegao rekordne brojke.

Prema službenim podacima, kroz kanal su prošli brodovi sa ukupno 1,27 milijardi tona tereta.

Šef Suez Canal Authoritya Osama Rabie je rekao kako je za prolaz ukupno plaćeno 5,5 milijardi eura. On je dodao da je tijekom 2021. kanalom prošlo 20,694 brodova (18.830 u 2020.), odnosno 56 svakog dana.

Egipat će urediti dodatnih 10 kilometara Sueskog kanala za dvosmjerni promet, a još 30 kilometara bit će prošireno i produbljeno, najavio je predsjednik uprave Sueskog kanala Osama Rabie.

Bilo bi preskupo proširiti cijeli, 190 kilometara dugi kanal koji povezuje Crveno more i Mediteran, ali dio koji omogućuje dvosmjerni promet trebao bi se produljiti sa sadašnjih 75 na 85 kilometara, objasnio je Rabie u utorak.

Globalni pomorski promet znatno je otežan u ožujku prošle godine nakon što je ogroman kontejnerski brod Ever Given zapeo u južnom dijelu kanala, blokiravši ključni pomorski pravac između Europe i Azije.

Planirano proširenje ubrzano je nakon te krize, rekao je Rabie, iako je cilj aktualnih radova poboljšanje sigurnosti prometa, te će nakon njihovog završetka prolaz kroz kanal i dalje trajati 11 sati.

Druga faza uključivat će proširenje kanala 30 kilometara do južnog ulaza za 40 metara, te njegovo produbljivanje za oko dva metra. Upravo je na tom dijelu kanala Ever Given zaglavio.

„To je težak dio kanala”, kazao je Rabie, dodavši da će „se na tom mjestu produbljivanjem i proširenjem poravnati zavoji u kanalu" i smanjiti utjecaj južnih vjetrova.

Projekt će koštati 3 milijarde egipatskih funti odnosno oko 191 milijun dolara, a bit će dovršen i otvoren do kraja lipnja 2023., rekao je.

Rekordni promet u 2021. godini - kanalom je prolazilo 56 brodova dnevno

Unatoč pandemiji i šestodnevnom zatvaranju zbog problema s kontejnerašem Ever Given, promet kroz Sueski kanal je u 2021. godini dosegao rekordne brojke.

Prema službenim podacima, kroz kanal su prošli brodovi sa ukupno 1,27 milijardi tona tereta.

Šef Suez Canal Authoritya Osama Rabie je rekao kako je za prolaz ukupno plaćeno 5,5 milijardi eura. On je dodao da je tijekom 2021. kanalom prošlo 20,694 brodova (18.830 u 2020.), odnosno 56 svakog dana.
