Ile Vierge ili Djevičin otok je otočić površine 6 hektara, na nepunu milju od obale Bretanje, na kojem je najviši europski svjetionik. Visok je 82,5 m i do njegovog vrha vodi kružna skalinada od 392 stepenika. Sagrađen je pokraj 33 m visokog svjetionika koji je bio u upotrebi od 1845. do 1902. kada ga je zamjenio novi. Ile Vierge svjetionik označava krajnju jugozapadnu točku La Manchea. Otočić na kojem stoji ime je dobio po kapeli posvećenoj Djevici Mariji koja se nalazila u samostanu što su ga franjevci oko 1450. podigli na otoku. Pola stoljeća kasnije oni odlaze na kopno, a samostan je propao, pa danas samo ime otoka i svjetionika čuvaju spomen na njih.

Drugi poznati svjetionik djevičanskog naziva je Kiz Kulesi (Djevičanska kula) i nalazi se na otočiću u Bosporu, pred Istanbulom. Od 5. stoljeća otok je služio kao mjesto za naplatu carina za brodove što su tuda prolazili, a u tursko doba na njemu se gradi svjetionik. Uz otok i svjetionik vežu se brojne legende, pa i naziv Djevičanska kula potječe od jedne. Vladarevoj kćeri proreknuto je da će do 18. rođendana umrijeti od ugriza zmije. Zabrinut za svoju jedinicu, otac je poslao na otok na kojem nikad nije bilo zmija. Redovito je posjećivao, a kada je na njen 18. rođendan došao po nju, na dar joj je donio košaru voća. Nije znao da se u nju zavukla i otrovnica. Djevičanska kula, danas jedan od najpoznatijih lokaliteta u Istanbulu.

Ile Vierge ili Djevičin otok je otočić površine 6 hektara, na nepunu milju od obale Bretanje, na kojem je najviši europski svjetionik. Visok je 82,5 m i do njegovog vrha vodi kružna skalinada od 392 stepenika. Sagrađen je pokraj 33 m visokog svjetionika koji je bio u upotrebi od 1845. do 1902. kada ga je zamjenio novi. Ile Vierge svjetionik označava krajnju jugozapadnu točku La Manchea. Otočić na kojem stoji ime je dobio po kapeli posvećenoj Djevici Mariji koja se nalazila u samostanu što su ga franjevci oko 1450. podigli na otoku. Pola stoljeća kasnije oni odlaze na kopno, a samostan je propao, pa danas samo ime otoka i svjetionika čuvaju spomen na njih.

Drugi poznati svjetionik djevičanskog naziva je Kiz Kulesi (Djevičanska kula) i nalazi se na otočiću u Bosporu, pred Istanbulom. Od 5. stoljeća otok je služio kao mjesto za naplatu carina za brodove što su tuda prolazili, a u tursko doba na njemu se gradi svjetionik. Uz otok i svjetionik vežu se brojne legende, pa i naziv Djevičanska kula potječe od jedne. Vladarevoj kćeri proreknuto je da će do 18. rođendana umrijeti od ugriza zmije. Zabrinut za svoju jedinicu, otac je poslao na otok na kojem nikad nije bilo zmija. Redovito je posjećivao, a kada je na njen 18. rođendan došao po nju, na dar joj je donio košaru voća. Ile Vierge ili Djevičin otok

Ile Vierge ili Djevičin otok je otočić površine 6 hektara, na nepunu milju od obale Bretanje, na kojem je najviši europski svjetionik. Visok je 82,5 m i do njegovog vrha vodi kružna skalinada od 392 stepenika. Sagrađen je pokraj 33 m visokog svjetionika koji je bio u upotrebi od 1845. do 1902. kada ga je zamjenio novi. Ile Vierge svjetionik označava krajnju jugozapadnu točku La Manchea. Otočić na kojem stoji ime je dobio po kapeli posvećenoj Djevici Mariji koja se nalazila u samostanu što su ga franjevci oko 1450. podigli na otoku. Pola stoljeća kasnije oni odlaze na kopno, a samostan je propao, pa danas samo ime otoka i svjetionika čuvaju spomen na njih.

Drugi poznati svjetionik djevičanskog naziva je Kiz Kulesi (Djevičanska kula) i nalazi se na otočiću u Bosporu, pred Istanbulom. Od 5. stoljeća otok je služio kao mjesto za naplatu carina za brodove što su tuda prolazili, a u tursko doba na njemu se gradi svjetionik. Uz otok i svjetionik vežu se brojne legende, pa i naziv Djevičanska kula potječe od jedne. Vladarevoj kćeri proreknuto je da će do 18. rođendana umrijeti od ugriza zmije. Zabrinut za svoju jedinicu, otac je poslao na otok na kojem nikad nije bilo zmija. Redovito je posjećivao, a kada je na njen 18. rođendan došao po nju, na dar joj je donio košaru voća. Nije znao da se u nju zavukla i otrovnica. Djevičanska kula, danas jedan od najpoznatijih lokaliteta u Istanbulu.
