Britanska vlada priznala je da dokazi za korištenje maski u školama u svrhu smanjenja širenja covida-19 "nisu uvjerljivi".

Nepouzdanost u maske u tom smislu priznata je prilikom ponovne procjene koju su ministri u Engleskoj proveli kako bi donijeli odluku o uvođenju maski u školske učionice, prenosi BBC.

Vladina studija, provedena u jesen, nije pružila dokaz o statistički značajnom doprinosu nošenja maski smanjenju širenja zaraze.

Analiza dokaza pokazala je da su druge studije dale raznolike rezultate, no promatrane zajedno sugeriraju da bi maske mogle pomoći, a to je podržala i Britanska agencija za zdravstvenu sigurnost (UKHSA).

Statistički beznačajna razlika

Zaključci novog razmatranja su objavljeni nakon najave u ponedjeljak o ponovnom uvođenju maski u učionicama.

Nova procjena uključuje rezultate studije u 123 škole u Engleskoj koje su koristile maske te ih je usporedila sa školama koje nisu uvodile maske tijekom vala delta varijante covida.

U školama u kojima su bile uvedene maske, u listopadu prošle godine došlo je dva do tri tjedna nakon toga do smanjenja izostanaka zbog covida sa 5,3 na 3 posto, a u školama koje nisu uvodile maske izostanci su pali s 5,3 na 3,6 posto.

Zaključeno je kako to statistički gledano nije značajna razlika te da bi veće smanjenje izostanaka zbog covida u školama u kojima su uvedene maske, moglo biti posve slučajno.

U novoj analizi također se navodi da bi korištenje maski moglo štetiti učenju, no cjelokupna analiza prednosti i mana ove politike nije provedena, unatoč tome što 94 posto školskih ravnatelja i učitelja kaže da je to otežalo komunikaciju između njih i učenika.

'Uravnotežena prosudba'

Oko 80 posto učenika također je ocijenilo da su maske otežale komunikaciju, ali 70 posto je izjavilo i da se zbog njih osjećaju sigurnije.

U analizi je stoga ocijenjeno kako je donesena "uravnotežena prosudba".

Ministri su zaključili da maske imaju materijalni učinak, ali kažu da se neće koristiti niti dan dulje nego što je to potrebno.

"Podržavamo odluku Odjela za obrazovanje da privremeno ponovno uvede korištenje maski za lice u srednjim školama dok stope covida ostaju visoke", rekla je Susan Hopkins, glavna medicinska savjetnica u UKHSA.

Velika Britanija trenutačno prolazi kroz fazu širenja omikrona, još zaraznije varijante koronavirusa, no još nema dovoljno podataka o učinku maski kada je ovaj soj u pitanju.

Britanska vlada priznala je da dokazi za korištenje maski u školama u svrhu smanjenja širenja covida-19 "nisu uvjerljivi".

Nepouzdanost u maske u tom smislu priznata je prilikom ponovne procjene koju su ministri u Engleskoj proveli kako bi donijeli odluku o uvođenju maski u školske učionice, prenosi BBC.

Vladina studija, provedena u jesen, nije pružila dokaz o statistički značajnom doprinosu nošenja maski smanjenju širenja zaraze.

Analiza dokaza pokazala je da su druge studije dale raznolike rezultate, no promatrane zajedno sugeriraju da bi maske mogle pomoći, a to je podržala i Britanska agencija za zdravstvenu sigurnost (UKHSA).

Statistički beznačajna razlika

Zaključci novog razmatranja su objavljeni nakon najave u ponedjeljak o ponovnom uvođenju maski u učionicama.

Nova procjena uključuje rezultate studije u 123 škole u Engleskoj koje su koristile maske te ih je usporedila sa školama koje nisu uvodile maske tijekom vala delta varijante covida.

U školama u kojima su bile uvedene maske, u listopadu prošle godine došlo je dva do tri tjedna nakon toga do smanjenja izostanaka zbog covida sa 5,3 na 3 posto, a u školama koje nisu uvodile maske izostanci su pali s 5,3 na 3,6 posto.

Zaključeno je kako to statistički gledano nije značajna razlika te da bi veće smanjenje izostanaka zbog covida u školama u kojima su uvedene maske, moglo biti posve slučajno.

U novoj analizi također se navodi da bi korištenje maski moglo štetiti učenju, no cjelokupna analiza prednosti i mana ove politike nije provedena, unatoč tome što 94 posto školskih ravnatelja i učitelja kaže da je to otežalo komunikaciju između njih i učenika.

'Uravnotežena prosudba'

Oko 80 posto učenika također je ocijenilo da su maske otežale komunikaciju, ali 70 posto je izjavilo i da se zbog njih osjećaju sigurnije.

U analizi je stoga ocijenjeno kako je donesena "uravnotežena prosudba".

Ministri su zaključili da maske imaju materijalni učinak, ali kažu da se neće koristiti niti dan dulje nego što je to potrebno.

"Podržavamo odluku Odjela za obrazovanje da privremeno ponovno uvede korištenje maski za lice u srednjim školama dok stope covida ostaju visoke", rekla je Susan Hopkins, glavna medicinska savjetnica u UKHSA.

Velika Britanija trenutačno prolazi kroz fazu širenja omikrona, još zaraznije varijante koronavirusa, no još nema dovoljno podataka o učinku maski kada je ovaj soj u pitanju.

U Britaniji zaključili da od maski u školama nema velike koristi: ‘To je statistički beznačajna razlika‘

Britanska vlada priznala je da dokazi za korištenje maski u školama u svrhu smanjenja širenja covida-19 "nisu uvjerljivi".

Nepouzdanost u maske u tom smislu priznata je prilikom ponovne procjene koju su ministri u Engleskoj proveli kako bi donijeli odluku o uvođenju maski u školske učionice, prenosi BBC.

Vladina studija, provedena u jesen, nije pružila dokaz o statistički značajnom doprinosu nošenja maski smanjenju širenja zaraze.

Analiza dokaza pokazala je da su druge studije dale raznolike rezultate, no promatrane zajedno sugeriraju da bi maske mogle pomoći, a to je podržala i Britanska agencija za zdravstvenu sigurnost (UKHSA).

Statistički beznačajna razlika

Zaključci novog razmatranja su objavljeni nakon najave u ponedjeljak o ponovnom uvođenju maski u učionicama.

Nova procjena uključuje rezultate studije u 123 škole u Engleskoj koje su koristile maske te ih je usporedila sa školama koje nisu uvodile maske tijekom vala delta varijante covida.

U školama u kojima su bile uvedene maske, u listopadu prošle godine došlo je dva do tri tjedna nakon toga do smanjenja izostanaka zbog covida sa 5,3 na 3 posto, a u školama koje nisu uvodile maske izostanci su pali s 5,3 na 3,6 posto.

Zaključeno je kako to statistički gledano nije značajna razlika te da bi veće smanjenje izostanaka zbog covida u školama u kojima su uvedene maske, moglo biti posve slučajno.

U novoj analizi također se navodi da bi korištenje maski moglo štetiti učenju, no cjelokupna analiza prednosti i mana ove politike nije provedena, unatoč tome što 94 posto školskih ravnatelja i učitelja kaže da je to otežalo komunikaciju između njih i učenika.

'Uravnotežena prosudba'

Oko 80 posto učenika također je ocijenilo da su maske otežale komunikaciju, ali 70 posto je izjavilo i da se zbog njih osjećaju sigurnije.

U analizi je stoga ocijenjeno kako je donesena "uravnotežena prosudba".

Ministri su zaključili da maske imaju materijalni učinak, ali kažu da se neće koristiti niti dan dulje nego što je to potrebno.

"Podržavamo odluku Odjela za obrazovanje da privremeno ponovno uvede korištenje maski za lice u srednjim školama dok stope covida ostaju visoke", rekla je Susan Hopkins, glavna medicinska savjetnica u UKHSA.

Velika Britanija trenutačno prolazi kroz fazu širenja omikrona, još zaraznije varijante koronavirusa, no još nema dovoljno podataka o učinku maski kada je ovaj soj u pitanju.
