Predsjednik Europskog parlamenta, talijanski socijaldemokrat David Sassoli, preminuo je u noći s ponedjeljka na utorak u Italiji, u 65. godini, objavio je njegov glasnogovornik.

"David Sassoli preminuo je 11. siječnja u 1:15 ujutro u CRO (onkološki referentni centar) u Avianu, Italija, (sjeverno od Venecije), gdje je bio hospitaliziran" od kraja prosinca, objavio je na Twitteru Roberto Cuillo, glasnogovornik Davida Sassolija.

"Datum i mjesto sprovoda bit će objavljeni u idućim satima", dodao je.

U ponedjeljak poslijepodne, njegov glasnogovornik objavio je hospitalizaciju predsjednika Europskog parlamenta od kraja prosinca "slijedom ozbiljnih komplikacija zbog disfunkcije imunološkog sustava" te otkazivanje njegovih službenih aktivnosti.

Budući da je u prošlosti bolovao od leukemije, Sassoli je ove jeseni već bio hospitaliziran zbog upale pluća zbog koje je nekoliko tjedana bio udaljen od Europskog parlamenta.

Bivši novinar, voditelj televizijskih vijesti u Italiji prije nego što se okrenuo politici, David Sassoli bio je na čelu parlamenta u Strasbourgu od 2019. Mandat mu je završio ovog mjeseca, na polovici mandata petogodišnjeg zakonodavnog tijela.

Izbori za njegova nasljednika trenutno su zakazani za 18. siječnja.

Njegova skupina, Socijaldemokrati (S&D), druga politička snaga u Europskom parlamentu, odustala je sredinom prosinca od predstavljanja svog kandidata, otvarajući put za izbor kandidatkinje Europske pučke stranke EPP (desno), sadašnje prve potpredsjednice parlamenta, Maltežanke Roberte Metsole.

Predsjednik Europskog parlamenta, talijanski socijaldemokrat David Sassoli, preminuo je u noći s ponedjeljka na utorak u Italiji, u 65. godini, objavio je njegov glasnogovornik.

"David Sassoli preminuo je 11. siječnja u 1:15 ujutro u CRO (onkološki referentni centar) u Avianu, Italija, (sjeverno od Venecije), gdje je bio hospitaliziran" od kraja prosinca, objavio je na Twitteru Roberto Cuillo, glasnogovornik Davida Sassolija.

"Datum i mjesto sprovoda bit će objavljeni u idućim satima", dodao je.

U ponedjeljak poslijepodne, njegov glasnogovornik objavio je hospitalizaciju predsjednika Europskog parlamenta od kraja prosinca "slijedom ozbiljnih komplikacija zbog disfunkcije imunološkog sustava" te otkazivanje njegovih službenih aktivnosti.

Budući da je u prošlosti bolovao od leukemije, Sassoli je ove jeseni već bio hospitaliziran zbog upale pluća zbog koje je nekoliko tjedana bio udaljen od Europskog parlamenta.

Bivši novinar, voditelj televizijskih vijesti u Italiji prije nego što se okrenuo politici, David Sassoli bio je na čelu parlamenta u Strasbourgu od 2019. Mandat mu je završio ovog mjeseca, na polovici mandata petogodišnjeg zakonodavnog tijela.

Izbori za njegova nasljednika trenutno su zakazani za 18. siječnja.

Njegova skupina, Socijaldemokrati (S&D), druga politička snaga u Europskom parlamentu, odustala je sredinom prosinca od predstavljanja svog kandidata, otvarajući put za izbor kandidatkinje Europske pučke stranke EPP (desno), sadašnje prve potpredsjednice parlamenta, Maltežanke Roberte Metsole.

U 65. godini života preminuo predsjednik Europskog parlamenta David Sassoli

Predsjednik Europskog parlamenta, talijanski socijaldemokrat David Sassoli, preminuo je u noći s ponedjeljka na utorak u Italiji, u 65. godini, objavio je njegov glasnogovornik.

"David Sassoli preminuo je 11. siječnja u 1:15 ujutro u CRO (onkološki referentni centar) u Avianu, Italija, (sjeverno od Venecije), gdje je bio hospitaliziran" od kraja prosinca, objavio je na Twitteru Roberto Cuillo, glasnogovornik Davida Sassolija.

"Datum i mjesto sprovoda bit će objavljeni u idućim satima", dodao je.

U ponedjeljak poslijepodne, njegov glasnogovornik objavio je hospitalizaciju predsjednika Europskog parlamenta od kraja prosinca "slijedom ozbiljnih komplikacija zbog disfunkcije imunološkog sustava" te otkazivanje njegovih službenih aktivnosti.

Budući da je u prošlosti bolovao od leukemije, Sassoli je ove jeseni već bio hospitaliziran zbog upale pluća zbog koje je nekoliko tjedana bio udaljen od Europskog parlamenta.

Bivši novinar, voditelj televizijskih vijesti u Italiji prije nego što se okrenuo politici, David Sassoli bio je na čelu parlamenta u Strasbourgu od 2019. Mandat mu je završio ovog mjeseca, na polovici mandata petogodišnjeg zakonodavnog tijela.

Izbori za njegova nasljednika trenutno su zakazani za 18. siječnja.

Njegova skupina, Socijaldemokrati (S&D), druga politička snaga u Europskom parlamentu, odustala je sredinom prosinca od predstavljanja svog kandidata, otvarajući put za izbor kandidatkinje Europske pučke stranke EPP (desno), sadašnje prve potpredsjednice parlamenta, Maltežanke Roberte Metsole.
