Snažan potres magnitude 7 pogodio je južni dio Tajvana oko 15 h po lokalnom vremenu (9 sati prema srednjoeuropskom). U trenutku potresa mi smo bili u Taipeiju, a hotel Westgate, u kojem smo smješteni, bio je krcat.

Ljudi su panično istrčali na hodnike ispred soba, grabeći prvo što im se našlo pod rukom. Neki su se skupili ispod štokova ulaznih vrata svojih soba, neki su kupili svoju djecu i trudili se izaći napolje, neki su se ukopali ispod štokova ulaznih vrata svojih soba. Neki su samo vrištali. Osoblje hotela podijelilo je letke za evakuacije u slučaju novog snažnijeg potresa. Svi su odjeveni i spremni izaći iz hotela. U trenutku dok pišem ovaj tekst, događa se nova serija manjih potresa koje dobrano tresu zgradu hotela. Posljednji je, prema osobnoj procjeni i iskustvu s onim zagrebačkim, zasigurno veći od 5,5.

Epicentar je obalni grad Taitung koji se nalazi na oko 200 kilometara od glavnog grada. To je, inače, područje ravnog terena s oko 8500 stanovnika u kojem se uzgaja riža. Uslijedila je serija od čak 56 tzv. afteršok potresa od kojih je posljednji, magnitude 5,9 stupnjeva pogodio i glavni grad Taipei.

Snažnom udaru prethodio je i potres magnitude 6,5 na tek 7,3 kilometra od površine tla. Kako izvještavaju lokalni mediji, prijavljena je velika šteta: zabilježeni su teški odroni zemlje, urušavanje kamenoloma, a preko 120 turista ostalo je zarobljeno u Chief Spa Hotelu koji se nalazi na autocesti Southern Cross-Island. Hotel je već nekoliko sati bez struje i potrošio je sve gorivo iz generatora. Središnja tajvanska novinska agencija objavila je da je sustav podzemne željeznice u gradu Kaoshiung na jugu otoka privremeno obustavljen. Društvenim mrežama kolaju i različite snimke i fotografije uništenih objekata. Razbijeno je i preko 2200 pogrebnih urni u kolumbariju blizu Taitunga. Pepeo koji se nalazio unutra pomiješan je, izvještava Jutarnji list. 

Tajvan na rubu

Sve ovo dolazi u trenutku kada su kolektivni živci stanovnika Tajvana ionako na rubu. Nakon što je otok uzdrman teškim potresom, mnogi su u panici pomislili da je riječ o granati, nekakvom projektilu ili početku kineske invazije koju je Peking više no ikad aktualizirao prošli mjesec. Podsjećamo, nakon posjeta Nancy Pelosi, predsjednice Zastupničkog doma američkog Kongresa službenom Taipeiju, Kina je u i oko tajvanskog tjesnaca održala najveće vojne vježbe u kontekstu simulacije napada na ovaj otok.

Jučer je Taiwan News, najveća ovdašnja medijska platforma, ekstenzivno pisala da kineski predsjednik Xi Jinping zahtijeva da Narodnooslobodilačka armija Kine u sljedećih 5 godina, do 2027. godine bude pripravna izvršiti invaziju na otok. Taiwan News poziva se na izjave zamjenika direktora CIA-a Davida Cohena. Veliki kongres kineske Komunističke partije, na kojem će se veoma vjerojatno produžiti mandat Jinpingu, počinje 16. listopada. Osovina Jinpingovog političkog nasljeđa je vratiti Tajvan, iz perspektive Pekinga - odmetnuti otok kojeg su poslije poraza 1949. godine okupirale nacionalističke snage Čang Kai Šeka.

Japanac s kojim pod obaveznim maskama pričam u hodniku hotela duhovito komentira: ‘Invazija je preskupa, politički kontraproduktivna i prekrvava, Kinezi samo moraju pronaći dovoljno strpljenja i potresi će dokrajčiti ovaj otočić!‘

Tajvan, inače, redovito pogađaju potresi jer se otok nalazi blizu spajanja dvaju tektonskih ploča, iako je ovaj, kako izvještavaju najjači ove godine. S obzirom da je potres jači od 7,0 otok bi mogao izdati i upozorenje za tsunami.

Snažan potres magnitude 7 pogodio je južni dio Tajvana oko 15 h po lokalnom vremenu (9 sati prema srednjoeuropskom). U trenutku potresa mi smo bili u Taipeiju, a hotel Westgate, u kojem smo smješteni, bio je krcat.

Ljudi su panično istrčali na hodnike ispred soba, grabeći prvo što im se našlo pod rukom. Neki su se skupili ispod štokova ulaznih vrata svojih soba, neki su kupili svoju djecu i trudili se izaći napolje, neki su se ukopali ispod štokova ulaznih vrata svojih soba. Neki su samo vrištali. Osoblje hotela podijelilo je letke za evakuacije u slučaju novog snažnijeg potresa. Svi su odjeveni i spremni izaći iz hotela. U trenutku dok pišem ovaj tekst, događa se nova serija manjih potresa koje dobrano tresu zgradu hotela. Posljednji je, prema osobnoj procjeni i iskustvu s onim zagrebačkim, zasigurno veći od 5,5.

Epicentar je obalni grad Taitung koji se nalazi na oko 200 kilometara od glavnog grada. To je, inače, područje ravnog terena s oko 8500 stanovnika u kojem se uzgaja riža. Uslijedila je serija od čak 56 tzv. afteršok potresa od kojih je posljednji, magnitude 5,9 stupnjeva pogodio i glavni grad Taipei.

Snažnom udaru prethodio je i potres magnitude 6,5 na tek 7,3 kilometra od površine tla. Kako izvještavaju lokalni mediji, prijavljena je velika šteta: zabilježeni su teški odroni zemlje, urušavanje kamenoloma, a preko 120 turista ostalo je zarobljeno u Chief Spa Hotelu koji se nalazi na autocesti Southern Cross-Island. Hotel je već nekoliko sati bez struje i potrošio je sve gorivo iz generatora. Središnja tajvanska novinska agencija objavila je da je sustav podzemne željeznice u gradu Kaoshiung na jugu otoka privremeno obustavljen. Društvenim mrežama kolaju i različite snimke i fotografije uništenih objekata. Razbijeno je i preko 2200 pogrebnih urni u kolumbariju blizu Taitunga. Pepeo koji se nalazio unutra pomiješan je, izvještava Jutarnji list. 

Tajvan na rubu

Sve ovo dolazi u trenutku kada su kolektivni živci stanovnika Tajvana ionako na rubu. Nakon što je otok uzdrman teškim potresom, mnogi su u panici pomislili da je riječ o granati, nekakvom projektilu ili početku kineske invazije koju je Peking više no ikad aktualizirao prošli mjesec. Podsjećamo, nakon posjeta Nancy Pelosi, predsjednice Zastupničkog doma američkog Kongresa službenom Taipeiju, Kina je u i oko tajvanskog tjesnaca održala najveće vojne vježbe u kontekstu simulacije napada na ovaj otok.

Jučer je Taiwan News, najveća ovdašnja medijska platforma, ekstenzivno pisala da kineski predsjednik Xi Jinping zahtijeva da Narodnooslobodilačka armija Kine u sljedećih 5 godina, do 2027. godine bude pripravna izvršiti invaziju na otok. Taiwan News poziva se na izjave zamjenika direktora CIA-a Davida Cohena. Veliki kongres kineske Komunističke partije, na kojem će se veoma vjerojatno produžiti mandat Jinpingu, počinje 16. listopada. Osovina Jinpingovog političkog nasljeđa je vratiti Tajvan, iz perspektive Pekinga - odmetnuti otok kojeg su poslije poraza 1949. godine okupirale nacionalističke snage Čang Kai Šeka.

Japanac s kojim pod obaveznim maskama pričam u hodniku hotela duhovito komentira: ‘Invazija je preskupa, politički kontraproduktivna i prekrvava, Kinezi samo moraju pronaći dovoljno strpljenja i potresi će dokrajčiti ovaj otočić!‘

Tajvan, inače, redovito pogađaju potresi jer se otok nalazi blizu spajanja dvaju tektonskih ploča, iako je ovaj, kako izvještavaju najjači ove godine. S obzirom da je potres jači od 7,0 otok bi mogao izdati i upozorenje za tsunami.

Snažan potres pogodio Tajvan,reporter Jutarnjeg je tamo: ‘Ljudi trče u panici, čuje se vriska...‘

Snažan potres magnitude 7 pogodio je južni dio Tajvana oko 15 h po lokalnom vremenu (9 sati prema srednjoeuropskom). U trenutku potresa mi smo bili u Taipeiju, a hotel Westgate, u kojem smo smješteni, bio je krcat.

Ljudi su panično istrčali na hodnike ispred soba, grabeći prvo što im se našlo pod rukom. Neki su se skupili ispod štokova ulaznih vrata svojih soba, neki su kupili svoju djecu i trudili se izaći napolje, neki su se ukopali ispod štokova ulaznih vrata svojih soba. Neki su samo vrištali. Osoblje hotela podijelilo je letke za evakuacije u slučaju novog snažnijeg potresa. Svi su odjeveni i spremni izaći iz hotela. U trenutku dok pišem ovaj tekst, događa se nova serija manjih potresa koje dobrano tresu zgradu hotela. Posljednji je, prema osobnoj procjeni i iskustvu s onim zagrebačkim, zasigurno veći od 5,5.

Epicentar je obalni grad Taitung koji se nalazi na oko 200 kilometara od glavnog grada. To je, inače, područje ravnog terena s oko 8500 stanovnika u kojem se uzgaja riža. Uslijedila je serija od čak 56 tzv. afteršok potresa od kojih je posljednji, magnitude 5,9 stupnjeva pogodio i glavni grad Taipei.
