- Ne mogu to reći sa stopostotnom sigurnošću, treba provesti još studija, ali gotovo sam uvjeren da je učinkovito - rekao je Sahin dodavši da im treba dva tjedna da prouče ovaj novi soj korone, a u slučaju da postojeće cjepivo bude neučinkovito, da im treba još šest tjedana da pripreme cjepivo koje će biti učinkovito i za novi soj.
- Ali bez obzira na sve... Izgledi da je postojeće cjepivo učinkovito su jako veliki.
WHO će sazvati sastanak o novom soju koronavirusa
Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija (WHO) sazvat će sastanak članica kako bi razmotrili strategije za borbu protiv novog, zaraznijeg soja koronavirusa koji se pojavio u Britaniji, rekao je u utorak šef WHO-a za Europu.
On nije naveo datum održavanja sastanka.
"Ograničavanje putovanja u svrhu suzbijanja širenja virusa je mudro dok ne budemo imali više informacija. Lanci opskrbe osnovnim potrepštinama i nužna putovanja trebali bi ostati mogući", objavio je na Twitteru regionalni direktor WHO-a Hans Kluge i pozvao na pojačane preventivne mjere.
Tijelo sa sjedištem u Ženevi objavilo je u ponedjeljak da novi soj koronavirusa otkriven u Velikoj Britaniji, za koji se pokazalo da se brže širi nego ranija varijanta, "nije izvan kontrole".
Maria Van Kerkhove, tehnička voditeljica WHO-a za covid-19, rekla je da novi soj koronavirusa iako je zarazniji ne uzrokuje teže oblike bolesti niti više smrtnih slučajeva, pozivajući se na britanske analize.
WHO je također objavio da uskoro očekuje više detalja o mogućem utjecaju novog visokozaraznog soja koronavirusa, dok je niz zemalja zatvorio granice za putovanja iz Britanije zbog straha od njegovog širenja.
Novi soj koji je uzbunio Britaniju otkriven je i kod pojedinaca u Australiji, na Islandu, u Italiji i u Nizozemskoj, a bilo je i nekoliko slučajeva u Danskoj.
WHO je istaknuo da se radi o normalnoj etapi evolucije pandemije.

- Ne mogu to reći sa stopostotnom sigurnošću, treba provesti još studija, ali gotovo sam uvjeren da je učinkovito - rekao je Sahin dodavši da im treba dva tjedna da prouče ovaj novi soj korone, a u slučaju da postojeće cjepivo bude neučinkovito, da im treba još šest tjedana da pripreme cjepivo koje će biti učinkovito i za novi soj.
- Ali bez obzira na sve... Izgledi da je postojeće cjepivo učinkovito su jako veliki.
WHO će sazvati sastanak o novom soju koronavirusa
Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija (WHO) sazvat će sastanak članica kako bi razmotrili strategije za borbu protiv novog, zaraznijeg soja koronavirusa koji se pojavio u Britaniji, rekao je u utorak šef WHO-a za Europu.
On nije naveo datum održavanja sastanka.
"Ograničavanje putovanja u svrhu suzbijanja širenja virusa je mudro dok ne budemo imali više informacija. Lanci opskrbe osnovnim potrepštinama i nužna putovanja trebali bi ostati mogući", objavio je na Twitteru regionalni direktor WHO-a Hans Kluge i pozvao na pojačane preventivne mjere.
Tijelo sa sjedištem u Ženevi objavilo je u ponedjeljak da novi soj koronavirusa otkriven u Velikoj Britaniji, za koji se pokazalo da se brže širi nego ranija varijanta, "nije izvan kontrole".
Maria Van Kerkhove, tehnička voditeljica WHO-a za covid-19, rekla je da novi soj koronavirusa iako je zarazniji ne uzrokuje teže oblike bolesti niti više smrtnih slučajeva, pozivajući se na britanske analize.
WHO je također objavio da uskoro očekuje više detalja o mogućem utjecaju novog visokozaraznog soja koronavirusa, dok je niz zemalja zatvorio granice za putovanja iz Britanije zbog straha od njegovog širenja.
Novi soj koji je uzbunio Britaniju otkriven je i kod pojedinaca u Australiji, na Islandu, u Italiji i u Nizozemskoj, a bilo je i nekoliko slučajeva u Danskoj.
WHO je istaknuo da se radi o normalnoj etapi evolucije pandemije.
