DEFCON (Defense Ready Condition) je sustav koji Pentagon koristi za označavanje razine prijetnji od nuklearnog rata s kojima suočava SAD, a to zatim određuje spremnost za potencijalni odgovor. Postoji pet razina, od DEFCON 1 do 5.

DEFCON 5 je najniže stanje pripravnosti, dok je DEFCON 1 maksimalna spremnost, što znači da nuklearni rat počinje ili je već počeo. Prvi put je DEFCON 2 proglašen 24. listopada 1962. godine te je ta razina opasnosti trajala do 15. studenoga 1962. godine.

DEFCON (Defense Ready Condition) je sustav koji Pentagon koristi za označavanje razine prijetnji od nuklearnog rata s kojima suočava SAD, a to zatim određuje spremnost za potencijalni odgovor. Postoji pet razina, od DEFCON 1 do 5.
