Skupina Židova, sljedbenika hasidizma, uhićena je u New Yorku u ponedjeljak pod neobičnom optužbom. Privedeni su, naime, zbog kopanja podzemnog tunela u četvrti Brooklyn, a svrha ilegalnog podzemnog prolaza, prema informacijama nekih medija, bila je proširenje sinagoge.
Skupinu kopača činili su mladi pripadnici Chabad-Lubavitcha, jedne od najvećih židovskih vjerskih organizacija i najpoznatije hasidističke zajednice, a riječ je o društveno-vjerskom pokretu čije je glavno obilježje misticizam. Nakon što se doznalo za tajne podzemne aktivnosti, i nakon što su tamo stigli policija i građevinci kako bi zatvorili prolaz, skupina vjernika u utorak se sukobila s policijom braneći svoj tunel, prenosi Jutarnji list.
Rabin Motti Seligson, glasnogovornik Chabada, skupinu koja je kopala podzemne prostore opisao je kao "ekstremne učenike". Ilegalni tunel iskopan je po strani sinagoge koju su zbog toga zatvorili za javnost. Sinagoga je i sjedište Chabada.
Prenoseći vijest o neobičnom događaju, Guardian piše kako je u zgradi nekada stanovao rabin Menachem Schneerson, vođa Chabada. Schneerson je ortodoksnu zajednicu vodio više od 40 godina, sve do svoje smrti 1994. Seligson je u razgovoru za američke medije rekao da su "odmetnuti učenici" u tajnosti probili zid i prokopali podzemni prolaz ispod poslovnih prostora i predavaonica.
Kada su na mjesto događaja stigli građevinci kako bi popravili štetu, tamo su ih dočekali pristaše tunela. "Ekstremisti su prekinuli pokušaj popravka oštećenih zidova oskvrnuvši sveto mjesto", rekao je Seligson. Sudionici su optuženi za vandalizam i neovlašten upad na tuđi posjed te za ometanje rada državnih službi.
Za tunel se saznalo nakon anonimne dojave, piše Guardian, navodno jer su se žalili susjedi. U cijeli slučaj se uključio i jedan američki desničar, aktivan na društvenim mrežama. Richard Strocher u studenom je na X-u pisao da ispod njegova stana žive Židovi.
Strocher je tvrdio da čuje razgovore na jidišu, dodajući da je riječ o misteriju jer živi u prizemlju i nema podrum. Njegove objave izazvale su salve smijeha i pitanja o mentalnom zdravlju, kao i izuzetno neukusne pošalice o "Židovima u zidovima". "Mislim da mi netko duguje ispriku", poručio je sada Strocher, najavljujući da će za desničarski Fox News otkriti zbog čega se kopao tunel iako nije jasno živi li u susjedstvu sinagoge.
New York Post, njujorški tabloid, piše da su studenti kopali tunel jer su željeli proširiti sinagogu.

Skupina Židova, sljedbenika hasidizma, uhićena je u New Yorku u ponedjeljak pod neobičnom optužbom. Privedeni su, naime, zbog kopanja podzemnog tunela u četvrti Brooklyn, a svrha ilegalnog podzemnog prolaza, prema informacijama nekih medija, bila je proširenje sinagoge.
Skupinu kopača činili su mladi pripadnici Chabad-Lubavitcha, jedne od najvećih židovskih vjerskih organizacija i najpoznatije hasidističke zajednice, a riječ je o društveno-vjerskom pokretu čije je glavno obilježje misticizam. Nakon što se doznalo za tajne podzemne aktivnosti, i nakon što su tamo stigli policija i građevinci kako bi zatvorili prolaz, skupina vjernika u utorak se sukobila s policijom braneći svoj tunel, prenosi Jutarnji list.
Rabin Motti Seligson, glasnogovornik Chabada, skupinu koja je kopala podzemne prostore opisao je kao "ekstremne učenike". Ilegalni tunel iskopan je po strani sinagoge koju su zbog toga zatvorili za javnost. Sinagoga je i sjedište Chabada.
Prenoseći vijest o neobičnom događaju, Guardian piše kako je u zgradi nekada stanovao rabin Menachem Schneerson, vođa Chabada. Schneerson je ortodoksnu zajednicu vodio više od 40 godina, sve do svoje smrti 1994. Seligson je u razgovoru za američke medije rekao da su "odmetnuti učenici" u tajnosti probili zid i prokopali podzemni prolaz ispod poslovnih prostora i predavaonica.
Kada su na mjesto događaja stigli građevinci kako bi popravili štetu, tamo su ih dočekali pristaše tunela. "Ekstremisti su prekinuli pokušaj popravka oštećenih zidova oskvrnuvši sveto mjesto", rekao je Seligson. Sudionici su optuženi za vandalizam i neovlašten upad na tuđi posjed te za ometanje rada državnih službi.
Za tunel se saznalo nakon anonimne dojave, piše Guardian, navodno jer su se žalili susjedi. U cijeli slučaj se uključio i jedan američki desničar, aktivan na društvenim mrežama. Richard Strocher u studenom je na X-u pisao da ispod njegova stana žive Židovi.
Strocher je tvrdio da čuje razgovore na jidišu, dodajući da je riječ o misteriju jer živi u prizemlju i nema podrum. Njegove objave izazvale su salve smijeha i pitanja o mentalnom zdravlju, kao i izuzetno neukusne pošalice o "Židovima u zidovima". "Mislim da mi netko duguje ispriku", poručio je sada Strocher, najavljujući da će za desničarski Fox News otkriti zbog čega se kopao tunel iako nije jasno živi li u susjedstvu sinagoge.
New York Post, njujorški tabloid, piše da su studenti kopali tunel jer su željeli proširiti sinagogu.
