Na popularnoj dubrovačkoj plaži Danče postavljena je crvena zastava zbog povećane koncentracije meduza na kupalištu.

Crvena zastava u ovom slučaju nije postavljena zbog zabrane kupanja nego kao upozorenje! Spasilački tim Crvenog križa Dubrovnik tijekom jutra imao je čak osam intervencija uzrokovanih ubodom meduza.

Prevencije radi spasilački tim će kroz svoje djelovanje na kupalištu pojačano upozoravati kupače na novonastalu situaciju.

- Ovim putem želimo skrenuti pozornosti svim korisnicima kupališta na potencijalnu opasnost - objavljeno je na stranici Crvenog križa Dubrovnik na Facebooku.

Morska mjesečina "okupirala" je dubrovački akvatorij. Meduza poznata i pod imenom Pelagia noctiluca uočena je početkom lipnja u Nacionalnom parku Mljet, a proteklog vikenda i na plažama hotela "Dubrovnik President" i "Coral". Situacija na Dančama izazvala je alarm.

Dr. Rade Garić, znanstveni suradnik Instituta za more i priobalje Sveučilišta u Dubrovnik, kaže kako se ova vrsta meduze u našem dijelu Jadrana pojavljuje u "refulima", ove godine češće nego inače. Žarnjake uglavnom nalazimo na pučini, a prema obali ih nanosi vjetar.

Ovise o morskim strujama, a susret s njima za kupače nije nimalo ugodan.

Posljednja masovnija pojava zabilježena je na našem području sa šilokom u prosincu prošle godine u starom Portu, a kako je ovog ljeta?

- Izložene su im vale okrenute prema zapadu, poslijepodne dolaze s maestralom, pa ih je primjerice moguće sresti na Presidentu, ali i na Dančama. U jutarnjim satima su više "na udaru" stari Porat, Bellevue i Šunj. Svakako je poželjno izbjegavati bliski susret s Pelagijom noctilucom jer jako peče.

Najosjetljiviji su trbuh i podlaktice, dok je na rukama manje problema jer je koža tvrđa pa ju je teže probiti. No, pritom treba biti oprezan i ne dodirivati rukom lice jer se tako može prenijeti ‘žarnice‘ – objašnjava dr. Garić koji ima i recept kako sanirati ozljedu koju vam na kupanju može nanijeti morski klobuk:

- U slučaju da vas opeče, preporučuje se bolno mjesto politi octom ili na njega nasloniti topli kamen ili uroniti u toplu vodu. Mora biti što toplije, ali da ne uzrokuje opekline i pogorša stanje. Recimo četrdesetak stupnjeva – ističe dubrovački znanstvenik na temu novog udara dobro poznate meduze iz toplijih dijelova sredozemnog bazena.

Naziv Pelagia noctiluca dolazi od grčke riječi pélagos (otvorena pučina) i latinske nox (noć) i lux (svjetlo) jer ima sposobnost svijetliti u tami. "Rastom" nije velika, oko dvadesetak centimetara duljine a odlikuje je ružičasti klobuk promjera oko pet centimetara pod kojim se kriju lovke.

Ove vrste meduze u ciklusima su se pojavljivale kasnih 1970-ih i ranih 1980-ih, te od 2004. do 2007. godine. Ta vremenska razdoblja imale su karakteristične blage zime, niske količine padalina, te visoke temperature i atmosferski tlak, što je pogodovalo njihovom razmnožavanju.

Nakupine meduze Pelagije noctiluce u starom Portu

Na popularnoj dubrovačkoj plaži Danče postavljena je crvena zastava zbog povećane koncentracije meduza na kupalištu.

Crvena zastava u ovom slučaju nije postavljena zbog zabrane kupanja nego kao upozorenje! Spasilački tim Crvenog križa Dubrovnik tijekom jutra imao je čak osam intervencija uzrokovanih ubodom meduza.

Prevencije radi spasilački tim će kroz svoje djelovanje na kupalištu pojačano upozoravati kupače na novonastalu situaciju.

- Ovim putem želimo skrenuti pozornosti svim korisnicima kupališta na potencijalnu opasnost - objavljeno je na stranici Crvenog križa Dubrovnik na Facebooku.

Morska mjesečina "okupirala" je dubrovački akvatorij. Meduza poznata i pod imenom Pelagia noctiluca uočena je početkom lipnja u Nacionalnom parku Mljet, a proteklog vikenda i na plažama hotela "Dubrovnik President" i "Coral". Situacija na Dančama izazvala je alarm.

Dr. Rade Garić, znanstveni suradnik Instituta za more i priobalje Sveučilišta u Dubrovnik, kaže kako se ova vrsta meduze u našem dijelu Jadrana pojavljuje u "refulima", ove godine češće nego inače. Žarnjake uglavnom nalazimo na pučini, a prema obali ih nanosi vjetar.

Ovise o morskim strujama, a susret s njima za kupače nije nimalo ugodan.

Posljednja masovnija pojava zabilježena je na našem području sa šilokom u prosincu prošle godine u starom Portu, a kako je ovog ljeta?

- Izložene su im vale okrenute prema zapadu, poslijepodne dolaze s maestralom, pa ih je primjerice moguće sresti na Presidentu, ali i na Dančama. U jutarnjim satima su više "na udaru" stari Porat, Bellevue i Šunj. Svakako je poželjno izbjegavati bliski susret s Pelagijom noctilucom jer jako peče.

Najosjetljiviji su trbuh i podlaktice, dok je na rukama manje problema jer je koža tvrđa pa ju je teže probiti. No, pritom treba biti oprezan i ne dodirivati rukom lice jer se tako može prenijeti ‘žarnice‘ – objašnjava dr. Garić koji ima i recept kako sanirati ozljedu koju vam na kupanju može nanijeti morski klobuk:

- U slučaju da vas opeče, preporučuje se bolno mjesto politi octom ili na njega nasloniti topli kamen ili uroniti u toplu vodu. Mora biti što toplije, ali da ne uzrokuje opekline i pogorša stanje. Recimo četrdesetak stupnjeva – ističe dubrovački znanstvenik na temu novog udara dobro poznate meduze iz toplijih dijelova sredozemnog bazena.

Naziv Pelagia noctiluca dolazi od grčke riječi pélagos (otvorena pučina) i latinske nox (noć) i lux (svjetlo) jer ima sposobnost svijetliti u tami. "Rastom" nije velika, oko dvadesetak centimetara duljine a odlikuje je ružičasti klobuk promjera oko pet centimetara pod kojim se kriju lovke.

Ove vrste meduze u ciklusima su se pojavljivale kasnih 1970-ih i ranih 1980-ih, te od 2004. do 2007. godine. Ta vremenska razdoblja imale su karakteristične blage zime, niske količine padalina, te visoke temperature i atmosferski tlak, što je pogodovalo njihovom razmnožavanju.
