Kako javlja Jutarnji Mathiasu Uribeu, 14-godišnjaku iz Tennesseeja, amputirane su ruke i noge nakon što je osjetio simptome slične gripi koji su se pretvorili u smrtonosnu bakterijsku infekciju. Kod dječaka se sredinom lipnja pojavila groznica praćena mučninom i povraćanjem, a već 30. lipnja hitno je prebačen u bolnicu zbog srčanog zastoja.

U dječjoj bolnici u Vanderbiltu dijagnosticirana mu je upala pluća i streptokokni sindrom toksičnog šoka zbog čega su mu organi počeli otkazivati, jedan po jedan.

Centar za kontrolu i prevenciju bolesti (CDC) streptokokni sindrom toksičnog šoka definira kao rijetku bakterijsku infekciju koja rezultira septičkim šokom, zatajenjem organa, a ponekad i smrću. ECMO uređaj omogućio je pumpanje krvi izvan Mathiasovog tijela što je pomoglo srcu i plućima da zacijele, no noge i ruke morale su se amputirati jer je dotok krvi u ostale organe bio ugrožen.

- Ponekad kad obolite od gripe, ona vas pripremi za bakterijsku infekciju. Većina djece čak ni tad ne bude bolesna kao Mathias, kod djece je to stanje izuzetno rijetko, rekla je Katherine Boyle, asistentica profesora pedijatrijske intenzivne medicine u dječjoj bolnici Vanderbilt.

- ECMO mu je spasio život, međutim, njegovi ekstremiteti nisu primali dovoljno krvi. Nakon razgovora s liječničkim timom i iscrpljivanja svih opcija, donijeli smo tešku odluku da mu se amputiraju noge ispod koljena i ruke u zapešću, rekli su roditelji.

Mathias je prije bolesti bio vrlo aktivan, trčao je kros, igrao nogomet, svirao klavir, piše Jutarnji.

Njegovi se roditelji nadaju kako će napustiti bolnicu s novim protetskim udovima i nastaviti živjeti kao nekada.

- Rekao sam mu da ćemo biti njegove ruke i noge dok sve ovo ne riješimo, kazao je otac mu Edgar Uribe.

Na GoFundMe se prikuplja novac za pomoć nesretnom dječaku, a dobri su ljudi do sada donirali 243 000 dolara od ciljanog iznosa od pola milijuna dolara.

Kako javlja Jutarnji Mathiasu Uribeu, 14-godišnjaku iz Tennesseeja, amputirane su ruke i noge nakon što je osjetio simptome slične gripi koji su se pretvorili u smrtonosnu bakterijsku infekciju. Kod dječaka se sredinom lipnja pojavila groznica praćena mučninom i povraćanjem, a već 30. lipnja hitno je prebačen u bolnicu zbog srčanog zastoja.

U dječjoj bolnici u Vanderbiltu dijagnosticirana mu je upala pluća i streptokokni sindrom toksičnog šoka zbog čega su mu organi počeli otkazivati, jedan po jedan.

Centar za kontrolu i prevenciju bolesti (CDC) streptokokni sindrom toksičnog šoka definira kao rijetku bakterijsku infekciju koja rezultira septičkim šokom, zatajenjem organa, a ponekad i smrću. ECMO uređaj omogućio je pumpanje krvi izvan Mathiasovog tijela što je pomoglo srcu i plućima da zacijele, no noge i ruke morale su se amputirati jer je dotok krvi u ostale organe bio ugrožen.

- Ponekad kad obolite od gripe, ona vas pripremi za bakterijsku infekciju. Većina djece čak ni tad ne bude bolesna kao Mathias, kod djece je to stanje izuzetno rijetko, rekla je Katherine Boyle, asistentica profesora pedijatrijske intenzivne medicine u dječjoj bolnici Vanderbilt.

- ECMO mu je spasio život, međutim, njegovi ekstremiteti nisu primali dovoljno krvi. Nakon razgovora s liječničkim timom i iscrpljivanja svih opcija, donijeli smo tešku odluku da mu se amputiraju noge ispod koljena i ruke u zapešću, rekli su roditelji.

Mathias je prije bolesti bio vrlo aktivan, trčao je kros, igrao nogomet, svirao klavir, piše Jutarnji.

Njegovi se roditelji nadaju kako će napustiti bolnicu s novim protetskim udovima i nastaviti živjeti kao nekada.

- Rekao sam mu da ćemo biti njegove ruke i noge dok sve ovo ne riješimo, kazao je otac mu Edgar Uribe.

Na GoFundMe se prikuplja novac za pomoć nesretnom dječaku, a dobri su ljudi do sada donirali 243 000 dolara od ciljanog iznosa od pola milijuna dolara.

Kako javlja Jutarnji Mathiasu Uribeu, 14-godišnjaku iz Tennesseeja, amputirane su ruke i noge nakon što je osjetio simptome slične gripi koji su se pretvorili u smrtonosnu bakterijsku infekciju. Kod dječaka se sredinom lipnja pojavila groznica praćena mučninom i povraćanjem, a već 30. lipnja hitno je prebačen u bolnicu zbog srčanog zastoja.

U dječjoj bolnici u Vanderbiltu dijagnosticirana mu je upala pluća i streptokokni sindrom toksičnog šoka zbog čega su mu organi počeli otkazivati, jedan po jedan.

Centar za kontrolu i prevenciju bolesti (CDC) streptokokni sindrom toksičnog šoka definira kao rijetku bakterijsku infekciju koja rezultira septičkim šokom, zatajenjem organa, a ponekad i smrću. ECMO uređaj omogućio je pumpanje krvi izvan Mathiasovog tijela što je pomoglo srcu i plućima da zacijele, no noge i ruke morale su se amputirati jer je dotok krvi u ostale organe bio ugrožen.

- Ponekad kad obolite od gripe, ona vas pripremi za bakterijsku infekciju. Većina djece čak ni tad ne bude bolesna kao Mathias, kod djece je to stanje izuzetno rijetko, rekla je Katherine Boyle, asistentica profesora pedijatrijske intenzivne medicine u dječjoj bolnici Vanderbilt.

- ECMO mu je spasio život, međutim, njegovi ekstremiteti nisu primali dovoljno krvi. Nakon razgovora s liječničkim timom i iscrpljivanja svih opcija, donijeli smo tešku odluku da mu se amputiraju noge ispod koljena i ruke u zapešću, rekli su roditelji.

Mathias je prije bolesti bio vrlo aktivan, trčao je kros, igrao nogomet, svirao klavir, piše Jutarnji.

Njegovi se roditelji nadaju kako će napustiti bolnicu s novim protetskim udovima i nastaviti živjeti kao nekada.

- Rekao sam mu da ćemo biti njegove ruke i noge dok sve ovo ne riješimo, kazao je otac mu Edgar Uribe.

Na GoFundMe se prikuplja novac za pomoć nesretnom dječaku, a dobri su ljudi do sada donirali 243 000 dolara od ciljanog iznosa od pola milijuna dolara.
