Vojska Mijanmara izvela je masovna ubojstva civila u srpnju ove godine, a najmanje 40 muškaraca je izgubilo živote, prema istrazi BBC-ja.

Očevici i preživjeli rekli su da su vojnici, neki od samo 17 godina, okupili ljude iz sela prije nego što su muškarce odvojili i ubili. Čini se da snimci i fotografije incidenata pokazuju da je većina ubijenih prvo bila mučena, a zatim pokopana u plitke grobnice. Ubojstva su se dogodila u srpnju, u četiri odvojena incidenta u gradu Cannesu – uporištu oporbe u okrugu Sagajing u središnjem Mijanmaru.

Vojska se suočila s otporom civila otkako je preuzela kontrolu nad zemljom u državnom udaru u veljači, kada je svrgnuta demokratski izabrana vlada na čelu s Aung San Suu Kyi. BBC je intervjuirao 11 svjedoka u Kaniji i usporedio njihova svjedočenja sa snimkama mobitela i fotografijama koje je prikupio Myanmar Vitnes, nevladina organizacija sa sjedištem u Ujedinjenom Kraljevstvu koja istražuje kršenja ljudskih prava u zemlji.

Najmasovnije ubojstvo

Najmasovnije ubojstvo dogodilo se u selu Yin, gdje je najmanje 14 muškaraca mučeno ili pretučeno na smrt, a njihova tijela bačena u klanac u šumi. Svjedoci u Jinu – čija su imena skrivena radi zaštite identiteta – rekli su za BBC da su muškarci bili vezani konopima i pretučeni prije nego što su ubijeni. “Nismo to izdržali gledati, pa smo plakali pognute glave”, rekla je žena kojoj su ubijeni brat, nećak i zet.

“Molili smo ih da to ne rade. Nije ih bilo briga. Upitali su žene: ‘Jesu li među njima vaši muževi? Ako jesu, obavite svoje posljednje obrede'”, dodala je. Muškarac koji je uspio pobjeći rekao je da su vojnici satima prije nego što su žrtve umrle te muškarce na užasan način zlostavljali. “Bili su vezani, tučeni kamenjem i kundacima i cijeli dan mučeni. Neki su vojnici izgledali mlado, možda 17 ili 18 godina, ali neki su bili stari. Među njima je bila i jedna žena”, rekao je muškarac.

Krajem srpnja pronađeno je 12 unakaženih tijela zakopanih u plitkim masovnim grobnicama u obližnjem selu Zi Bin Dwin, uključujući tijelo osobe s invaliditetom i jedno za koje se vjeruje da je dijete. Tijelo šezdesetogodišnjeg muškarca pronađeno je vezano za obližnju šljivu. Snimka njegova leša, koju je pregledao BBC, pokazuje jasne znakove mučenja. Njegova obitelj je ispričala da su mu sin i unuk pobjegli kada je vojska ušla u selo, ali je on ostao, vjerujući da ga zbog starosti neće dirati.

Kolektivna kazna

Čini se da su ubojstva bila kolektivna kazna za napade na vojsku civilnih paravojnih skupina na tom području, koje nastoje vratiti demokraciju. Borbe između vojnih i lokalnih ogranaka Snaga narodne obrane – uobičajeni naziv za civilne paravojne skupine – postale su učestalije na tom području u mjesecima koji su prethodili masovnim ubojstvima, uključujući sukobe u blizini Zi Bin Dwina.

Iz vizualnih dokaza i svjedočanstava koje je prikupio BBC jasno je da su muškarci bili posebna meta, što odgovara obrascu koji se posljednjih mjeseci promatra u cijelom Mijanmaru, gdje se muškarci sa sela suočavaju s kolektivnom kaznom za sukobe između Snaga narodne obrane i vojske. Obitelji ubijenih inzistirale su na tome da ti muškarci nisu bili uključeni u napade na vojsku.

Žena koja je izgubila brata u masakru u selu Jin rekla je da je preklinjala vojnike govoreći im da njezin brat "ne zna koristiti ni praćku". Navodi da joj je vojnik rekao da šuti, da su umorni i da će je ubiti.

Zabrana stranim novinarima

Stranim novinarima zabranjeno je izvještavanje o Mijanmaru još od puča, a većina nedržavnih medija je zatvorena. – Izvještavanje s terena je gotovo nemoguće. BBC je za izjavu zatražio od zamjenika ministra informiranja Mijanmara i glasnogovornika vojske generala Zaua Min Tune.

Ovaj nije negirao da su vojnici počinili masovna ubojstva. “Nemam pojma. Kada nas tretiraju kao neprijatelje, imamo pravo braniti se", rekao je. Ujedinjeni narodi trenutno istražuju navodna kršenja ljudskih prava koje je počinila vojska Mijanmara.

Vojska Mijanmara izvela je masovna ubojstva civila u srpnju ove godine, a najmanje 40 muškaraca je izgubilo živote, prema istrazi BBC-ja.

Očevici i preživjeli rekli su da su vojnici, neki od samo 17 godina, okupili ljude iz sela prije nego što su muškarce odvojili i ubili. Čini se da snimci i fotografije incidenata pokazuju da je većina ubijenih prvo bila mučena, a zatim pokopana u plitke grobnice. Ubojstva su se dogodila u srpnju, u četiri odvojena incidenta u gradu Cannesu – uporištu oporbe u okrugu Sagajing u središnjem Mijanmaru.

Vojska se suočila s otporom civila otkako je preuzela kontrolu nad zemljom u državnom udaru u veljači, kada je svrgnuta demokratski izabrana vlada na čelu s Aung San Suu Kyi. BBC je intervjuirao 11 svjedoka u Kaniji i usporedio njihova svjedočenja sa snimkama mobitela i fotografijama koje je prikupio Myanmar Vitnes, nevladina organizacija sa sjedištem u Ujedinjenom Kraljevstvu koja istražuje kršenja ljudskih prava u zemlji.

Najmasovnije ubojstvo

Najmasovnije ubojstvo dogodilo se u selu Yin, gdje je najmanje 14 muškaraca mučeno ili pretučeno na smrt, a njihova tijela bačena u klanac u šumi. Svjedoci u Jinu – čija su imena skrivena radi zaštite identiteta – rekli su za BBC da su muškarci bili vezani konopima i pretučeni prije nego što su ubijeni. “Nismo to izdržali gledati, pa smo plakali pognute glave”, rekla je žena kojoj su ubijeni brat, nećak i zet.

“Molili smo ih da to ne rade. Nije ih bilo briga. Upitali su žene: ‘Jesu li među njima vaši muževi? Ako jesu, obavite svoje posljednje obrede'”, dodala je. Muškarac koji je uspio pobjeći rekao je da su vojnici satima prije nego što su žrtve umrle te muškarce na užasan način zlostavljali. “Bili su vezani, tučeni kamenjem i kundacima i cijeli dan mučeni. Neki su vojnici izgledali mlado, možda 17 ili 18 godina, ali neki su bili stari. Među njima je bila i jedna žena”, rekao je muškarac.

Krajem srpnja pronađeno je 12 unakaženih tijela zakopanih u plitkim masovnim grobnicama u obližnjem selu Zi Bin Dwin, uključujući tijelo osobe s invaliditetom i jedno za koje se vjeruje da je dijete. Tijelo šezdesetogodišnjeg muškarca pronađeno je vezano za obližnju šljivu. Snimka njegova leša, koju je pregledao BBC, pokazuje jasne znakove mučenja. Njegova obitelj je ispričala da su mu sin i unuk pobjegli kada je vojska ušla u selo, ali je on ostao, vjerujući da ga zbog starosti neće dirati.

Kolektivna kazna

Čini se da su ubojstva bila kolektivna kazna za napade na vojsku civilnih paravojnih skupina na tom području, koje nastoje vratiti demokraciju. Borbe između vojnih i lokalnih ogranaka Snaga narodne obrane – uobičajeni naziv za civilne paravojne skupine – postale su učestalije na tom području u mjesecima koji su prethodili masovnim ubojstvima, uključujući sukobe u blizini Zi Bin Dwina.

Iz vizualnih dokaza i svjedočanstava koje je prikupio BBC jasno je da su muškarci bili posebna meta, što odgovara obrascu koji se posljednjih mjeseci promatra u cijelom Mijanmaru, gdje se muškarci sa sela suočavaju s kolektivnom kaznom za sukobe između Snaga narodne obrane i vojske. Obitelji ubijenih inzistirale su na tome da ti muškarci nisu bili uključeni u napade na vojsku.

Žena koja je izgubila brata u masakru u selu Jin rekla je da je preklinjala vojnike govoreći im da njezin brat "ne zna koristiti ni praćku". Navodi da joj je vojnik rekao da šuti, da su umorni i da će je ubiti.

Zabrana stranim novinarima

Stranim novinarima zabranjeno je izvještavanje o Mijanmaru još od puča, a većina nedržavnih medija je zatvorena. – Izvještavanje s terena je gotovo nemoguće. BBC je za izjavu zatražio od zamjenika ministra informiranja Mijanmara i glasnogovornika vojske generala Zaua Min Tune.

Ovaj nije negirao da su vojnici počinili masovna ubojstva. “Nemam pojma. Kada nas tretiraju kao neprijatelje, imamo pravo braniti se", rekao je. Ujedinjeni narodi trenutno istražuju navodna kršenja ljudskih prava koje je počinila vojska Mijanmara.
