Kineski grad Shenzhen zabranio je jedenje pasa i mačaka u sklopu šireg suzbijanja trgovine divljim životinjama zbog pandemije koronavirusa.

Znanstvenici sumnjaju da se koronavirus prenio na ljude sa životinja. Ustanovljeno je da su među prvim zaraženima bili ljudi koji su bili na tržnici divljih životinja u središnjem gradu Wuhanu, gdje su se prodavali šišmiši, zmije, cibetke i druge životinje.
Bolest je zarazila više od 935.000 ljudi širom svijeta, umrlo je preko 47.000 ljudi.

Vlasti u južnom kineskom tehnološkom središtu priopćile su da će zabrana jedenja pasa i mačaka stupiti na snagu 1. svibnja.

"Psi i mačke kao kućni ljubimci uspostavili su mnogo bliži odnos s ljudima nego sve druge životinje, a zabrana jedenja pasa i mačaka i drugih kućnih ljubimaca uobičajena je praksa u razvijenim zemljama i Hong Kongu i Tajvanu", stoji u odredbi gradskih vlasti. "Ta zabrana u skladu je i sa zahtjevom i duhom ljudske civilizacije."

Kinesko vrhovno zakonodavno tijelo izjavilo je krajem veljače da zabranjuje trgovinu i konzumiranje divljih životinja. Pokrajinske i gradske vlasti širom zemlje nastoje provesti odredbu, ali Shenzhen je bio najkonkretniji u vezi s proširivanjem te zabrane na pse i mačke. Psi se pogotovo jedu u nekoliko dijelova Azije.

Liu Jianping, dužnosnik centra za prevenciju i kontrolu bolesti u Shenzhenu, rekao je da su perad, stoka i morski plodovi potrošačima dostupni.

"Nema dokaza koji bi potvrdili da su divlje životinje hranjivije od peradi i stoke", citirao je Liua državni medij Shenzhen Daily.

Prema prvotnom prijedlogu Shenzhen je htio zabraniti konzumaciju kornjača i žaba - oba uobičajena jela na jugu Kine. No gradska je uprava ovaj tjedan priznala da je ovo bila "vruća točka prijepora“ i pojasnila da se oboje može jesti.

Gradska kampanja za zaustavljanje jedenja divljih životinja dobila je pohvale skupina za zaštitu životinja.

"Shenzhen je prvi grad na svijetu koji je ozbiljno uzeo naučene lekcije iz ove pandemije i izvršio promjene potrebne kako bi se izbjegla nova pandemija", rekla je Teresa M. Telecky, potpredsjednica odjela za divlje životinje u Humane Society International.

"Hrabri koraci Shenzhena za zaustavljanje ove trgovine i potrošnje divljih životinja predstavljaju model koji treba slijediti."

Kineski grad Shenzhen zabranio je jedenje pasa i mačaka u sklopu šireg suzbijanja trgovine divljim životinjama zbog pandemije koronavirusa.

Znanstvenici sumnjaju da se koronavirus prenio na ljude sa životinja. Ustanovljeno je da su među prvim zaraženima bili ljudi koji su bili na tržnici divljih životinja u središnjem gradu Wuhanu, gdje su se prodavali šišmiši, zmije, cibetke i druge životinje.
Bolest je zarazila više od 935.000 ljudi širom svijeta, umrlo je preko 47.000 ljudi.

Vlasti u južnom kineskom tehnološkom središtu priopćile su da će zabrana jedenja pasa i mačaka stupiti na snagu 1. svibnja.

"Psi i mačke kao kućni ljubimci uspostavili su mnogo bliži odnos s ljudima nego sve druge životinje, a zabrana jedenja pasa i mačaka i drugih kućnih ljubimaca uobičajena je praksa u razvijenim zemljama i Hong Kongu i Tajvanu", stoji u odredbi gradskih vlasti. "Ta zabrana u skladu je i sa zahtjevom i duhom ljudske civilizacije."

Kinesko vrhovno zakonodavno tijelo izjavilo je krajem veljače da zabranjuje trgovinu i konzumiranje divljih životinja. Pokrajinske i gradske vlasti širom zemlje nastoje provesti odredbu, ali Shenzhen je bio najkonkretniji u vezi s proširivanjem te zabrane na pse i mačke. Psi se pogotovo jedu u nekoliko dijelova Azije.

Liu Jianping, dužnosnik centra za prevenciju i kontrolu bolesti u Shenzhenu, rekao je da su perad, stoka i morski plodovi potrošačima dostupni.

"Nema dokaza koji bi potvrdili da su divlje životinje hranjivije od peradi i stoke", citirao je Liua državni medij Shenzhen Daily.

Prema prvotnom prijedlogu Shenzhen je htio zabraniti konzumaciju kornjača i žaba - oba uobičajena jela na jugu Kine. No gradska je uprava ovaj tjedan priznala da je ovo bila "vruća točka prijepora“ i pojasnila da se oboje može jesti.

Gradska kampanja za zaustavljanje jedenja divljih životinja dobila je pohvale skupina za zaštitu životinja.

"Shenzhen je prvi grad na svijetu koji je ozbiljno uzeo naučene lekcije iz ove pandemije i izvršio promjene potrebne kako bi se izbjegla nova pandemija", rekla je Teresa M. Telecky, potpredsjednica odjela za divlje životinje u Humane Society International.

"Hrabri koraci Shenzhena za zaustavljanje ove trgovine i potrošnje divljih životinja predstavljaju model koji treba slijediti."

Kineski grad Shenzhen zabranio je jedenje pasa i mačaka u sklopu šireg suzbijanja trgovine divljim životinjama zbog pandemije koronavirusa.

Znanstvenici sumnjaju da se koronavirus prenio na ljude sa životinja. Ustanovljeno je da su među prvim zaraženima bili ljudi koji su bili na tržnici divljih životinja u središnjem gradu Wuhanu, gdje su se prodavali šišmiši, zmije, cibetke i druge životinje.
Bolest je zarazila više od 935.000 ljudi širom svijeta, umrlo je preko 47.000 ljudi.

Vlasti u južnom kineskom tehnološkom središtu priopćile su da će zabrana jedenja pasa i mačaka stupiti na snagu 1. svibnja.
