"Jesi li ti serijski ubojica", pita neki zavezani nesretnik Dextera Morgana (Michael C. Hall). "Bio sam", odgovara Dexter i doda "jesam". Njegov upit je na mjestu kao svojevrsni podsjetnik na Dextera, najomiljenijeg televizijskog serijskog ubojicu 2000-ih.

Prošlo je punih osam godina otkako se, krajem rujna 2013., emitirala posljednja epizoda osme sezone Showtimeove serije "Dexter", započete davne 2006. godine.

Dexter je u međuvremenu pao u zaborav, posebice nakon što su sezone, nakon dosegnutih vrhunaca u prve četiri, bivale sve slabije kako su išle kraju, s naglaskom na osmu koja je usporediva s neslavnim finalem "Igre prijestolja".

U međuvremenu su na televizijsku scenu stupili i neki stari-novi serijsko-ubilački i ini negativci, od Hannibala do Desa, a i Lars Von Trier i Fatih Akin dali su svoj obol liku i djelu "serial killera" s kontroverznim filmovima "Kuća koju je izgradio Jack" i "Zlatna rukavica".

Stoga, nameće se pitanje može li Dexter povratiti svoj ugled, vratiti se u formu i ponovno zasjesti na "serial killer" tron? Početak nove, devete sezone serije, podnaslovljene "New Blood", sugerira da možda i može.

Ulogu kreatora ponovno je preuzeo Clyde Phillips, odgovoran za prve četiri sezone, koji je "New Blood" zamislio kao novi početak, nekakav "revival", toliko da pokušava zamaskirati činjenicu kako je ovo deveta sezona pa je "Dexter" dobio čak i frišku stranicu na IMDb-u, umjesto da se nadovezao na prethodne.

Ipak, serija je kontinuacija svega što smo prethodno vidjeli. Glavni lik se preselio iz sunčana Miamija na rub (fiktivnog) snježnog gradića Iron Lake u kojem "nema tajni" i preuzeo novi identitet kao Jim Lindsay.

Predstavljen je u trku na snijegu uz taktove pjesme "Passenger" koja podsjeća na Dexterov unutarnji glas/alter ego "Dark Passenger".

Srećom, Dexter je suspregnuo "Dark Passengera" u sebi i nije godinama nikog ubio, prilagodio se lokalnom životu i započeo vezu sa šeficom lokalne policije Angelom Bishop (Julia Jones).

Iskušenja su, međutim, sveprisutna, a prošlost mu se vraća u spektralnom liku pokojne sestre detektivke Debre (Jennifer Carpenter) koja ga proganja i komunicira s njim, izgovarajući rečenice tipa "Svatko tko ti je blizak umire".

Prva epizoda se fino poigrava dilemom "hoće li ili neće" (opet ubiti), dok Dexter zamišlja kako udara kundakom puške tipa koji je, izgleda, prošao lišo za ubojstvo iz nehaja.

Od zamišljaja do realizacije nije dalek put ako ste Dexter, a bijeli snijeg samo čeka da se natopi crvenom krvlju. No, stvari se kompliciraju pojavom Dexterova sina Harrisona (Jack Alcott) iz braka s Ritom (Julie Benz), željnog da se poveže s ocem.

Harrison bi mogao biti "new blood" iz podnaslova serije koja kao da navješćuje pitanje hoće li sin krenuti tatinim stopama, s obzirom na to da ga je Dexter, sjetimo se, pronašao kako sjedi u lokvi krvi majke koju je ubio "Trinity killer" (John Lithgow), dakle na sličan način kako je i sam bio pronađen.

Ako je suditi po startu, čini se da će "Dexter: New Blood" opravdati svoje postojanje, iskupiti se za prethodne sezone i evoluirati. "Možda sam monstrum, ali sam monstrum koji evoluira", veli Dexter na kraju prve epizode.

"Jesi li ti serijski ubojica", pita neki zavezani nesretnik Dextera Morgana (Michael C. Hall). "Bio sam", odgovara Dexter i doda "jesam". Njegov upit je na mjestu kao svojevrsni podsjetnik na Dextera, najomiljenijeg televizijskog serijskog ubojicu 2000-ih.

Prošlo je punih osam godina otkako se, krajem rujna 2013., emitirala posljednja epizoda osme sezone Showtimeove serije "Dexter", započete davne 2006. godine.

Dexter je u međuvremenu pao u zaborav, posebice nakon što su sezone, nakon dosegnutih vrhunaca u prve četiri, bivale sve slabije kako su išle kraju, s naglaskom na osmu koja je usporediva s neslavnim finalem "Igre prijestolja".

U međuvremenu su na televizijsku scenu stupili i neki stari-novi serijsko-ubilački i ini negativci, od Hannibala do Desa, a i Lars Von Trier i Fatih Akin dali su svoj obol liku i djelu "serial killera" s kontroverznim filmovima "Kuća koju je izgradio Jack" i "Zlatna rukavica".

Stoga, nameće se pitanje može li Dexter povratiti svoj ugled, vratiti se u formu i ponovno zasjesti na "serial killer" tron? Početak nove, devete sezone serije, podnaslovljene "New Blood", sugerira da možda i može.

Ulogu kreatora ponovno je preuzeo Clyde Phillips, odgovoran za prve četiri sezone, koji je "New Blood" zamislio kao novi početak, nekakav "revival", toliko da pokušava zamaskirati činjenicu kako je ovo deveta sezona pa je "Dexter" dobio čak i frišku stranicu na IMDb-u, umjesto da se nadovezao na prethodne.

Ipak, serija je kontinuacija svega što smo prethodno vidjeli. Glavni lik se preselio iz sunčana Miamija na rub (fiktivnog) snježnog gradića Iron Lake u kojem "nema tajni" i preuzeo novi identitet kao Jim Lindsay.

Predstavljen je u trku na snijegu uz taktove pjesme "Passenger" koja podsjeća na Dexterov unutarnji glas/alter ego "Dark Passenger".

Srećom, Dexter je suspregnuo "Dark Passengera" u sebi i nije godinama nikog ubio, prilagodio se lokalnom životu i započeo vezu sa šeficom lokalne policije Angelom Bishop (Julia Jones).

Iskušenja su, međutim, sveprisutna, a prošlost mu se vraća u spektralnom liku pokojne sestre detektivke Debre (Jennifer Carpenter) koja ga proganja i komunicira s njim, izgovarajući rečenice tipa "Svatko tko ti je blizak umire".

Prva epizoda se fino poigrava dilemom "hoće li ili neće" (opet ubiti), dok Dexter zamišlja kako udara kundakom puške tipa koji je, izgleda, prošao lišo za ubojstvo iz nehaja.

Od zamišljaja do realizacije nije dalek put ako ste Dexter, a bijeli snijeg samo čeka da se natopi crvenom krvlju. No, stvari se kompliciraju pojavom Dexterova sina Harrisona (Jack Alcott) iz braka s Ritom (Julie Benz), željnog da se poveže s ocem.

Harrison bi mogao biti "new blood" iz podnaslova serije koja kao da navješćuje pitanje hoće li sin krenuti tatinim stopama, s obzirom na to da ga je Dexter, sjetimo se, pronašao kako sjedi u lokvi krvi majke koju je ubio "Trinity killer" (John Lithgow), dakle na sličan način kako je i sam bio pronađen.

Ako je suditi po startu, čini se da će "Dexter: New Blood" opravdati svoje postojanje, iskupiti se za prethodne sezone i evoluirati. "Možda sam monstrum, ali sam monstrum koji evoluira", veli Dexter na kraju prve epizode.
