Iste 2019. godine kad je u kina krenuo "Parazit" redatelja Joon-ho Bonga, budući osvajač prijelomnog Oscara za najbolji film, Južna Koreja je imala i zombijevsku seriju "Kingdom".

No, serija s logom Netlixa nekim je serijofilima nezasluženo prošla ispod radara, zato je valja sada istaknuti kao superiorniju drugoj sezoni "Black Summera", a uoči jednoepizodnog "Kingdom" specijala, svojevrsnog "nastavka" na "season 2", zakazanog za 23. srpnja i fokusiranog na lik Ashin, predstavljen na kraju "Kingdom 2".

Američke serije, kao i filmovi, drže primat, ali Netflix širi područje borbe i na neameričku, međunarodnu televizijsku scenu, seleći se iz Europe i u Aziju.

Južna Koreja je idealna za Netflix budući da je oduvijek bila žanrovski naklonjena, od akcije do horora. Ova zemlja već je imala iskustva sa zombijima par godina ranije s odličnim "Vlakom za Busan", jednim od najboljih "zombie movies" novog milenija.

Film je injektirao svježu krv u zombi žanr, ali srećom nije potrošio sve zalihe. Nešto je ostalo i za "Kingdom". Nema zime za zombije ako su iz Južne Koreje, čini se.

"Train To Busan" je ubacio zombije u vlak i bio svojevrsni akcijsko-trilersko-hororski "Under Siege 2" i "Runaway Train" s živim mrtvacima, a "Kingdom" ih je, pak, odbacio u prošlost i promijenio žanr u povijesnu stravu i užas.

Priča se odvija u vrijeme južnokorejske dinastije Joseon koja je 500 godina vladala Korejom, od kraja 14. do početka 20. stoljeća.

Dok traju "igre prijestolja" i uključuju prijestolonasljednika, princa Changa (Ji-Hoon Ju), u zemlji izbija misteriozna pošast i pretvara ljude u zombije, žive mrtvace koji se hrane živima.

Interesantno je da je počast izbila u gradu po imenu Dongnae, starom imenu za Busan koji je bio sigurno utočište u "Vlaku za Busan".

"Ugrizi su mali da bi bili od vuka ili tigra", govori netko kad pronađe žrtvu zombija i s čuđenjem shvati "odgovaraju ljudskom biću" jer "koji bi čovjek grizao drugog čovjeka".

Likovi serije "Kingdom", logično, nisu mogli vidjeti nijedan zombi film ili seriju da skuže o čemu se radi, a zato nitko ovdje zombije ne zove zombijima.

Prebacivanje zombija u prošlost, daleko od modernog urbanog svijeta, pokazalo se pravom odlukom i gledatelj je sa zadovoljstvom teleportiran u povijest Južne Koreje.

Vrijeme i mjesto radnje dezodoriraju usahli žanr jer zombiji baš i ne ordiniraju tako često u periodu dalje povijesti u kinima i na televiziji.

U najboljim trenucima "Kingdom" izgleda kao film Akire Kurosawe ("Sedam samuraja", "Krvavo prijestolje", "Skrivena tvrđava", "Tjelesna straža") ili Zhanga Yimoua ("Heroj", "Kuća letećih bodeža")... sa zombijima.

To je ovoj seriji veliki kompliment, najveći zapravo, a treba pohvaliti i njezinu dovoljno izdašnu produkciju i uzornu ekonomiju.

Serija traje optimalnih šest epizoda umjesto deset i gotovo da nema kadra/lika/(pod)zapleta viška i manjka, otprilike kao prva sezona "Black Summer". Sve je koncizno, režija, priča, gluma.

Između redaka, "Kingdom" se bavi seciranjem zombificiranog južnokorejskog društva (kao i "Parasite") i pošasti njegove hijerarhije.

U ovoj seriji bogati se razdvajaju od siromašnih, ali i jedni i drugi mogu postati i postaju zombiji. Zombiji ne biraju, baš kao i smrt.

Iste 2019. godine kad je u kina krenuo "Parazit" redatelja Joon-ho Bonga, budući osvajač prijelomnog Oscara za najbolji film, Južna Koreja je imala i zombijevsku seriju "Kingdom".

No, serija s logom Netlixa nekim je serijofilima nezasluženo prošla ispod radara, zato je valja sada istaknuti kao superiorniju drugoj sezoni "Black Summera", a uoči jednoepizodnog "Kingdom" specijala, svojevrsnog "nastavka" na "season 2", zakazanog za 23. srpnja i fokusiranog na lik Ashin, predstavljen na kraju "Kingdom 2".

Američke serije, kao i filmovi, drže primat, ali Netflix širi područje borbe i na neameričku, međunarodnu televizijsku scenu, seleći se iz Europe i u Aziju.

Južna Koreja je idealna za Netflix budući da je oduvijek bila žanrovski naklonjena, od akcije do horora. Ova zemlja već je imala iskustva sa zombijima par godina ranije s odličnim "Vlakom za Busan", jednim od najboljih "zombie movies" novog milenija.

Film je injektirao svježu krv u zombi žanr, ali srećom nije potrošio sve zalihe. Nešto je ostalo i za "Kingdom". Nema zime za zombije ako su iz Južne Koreje, čini se.

"Train To Busan" je ubacio zombije u vlak i bio svojevrsni akcijsko-trilersko-hororski "Under Siege 2" i "Runaway Train" s živim mrtvacima, a "Kingdom" ih je, pak, odbacio u prošlost i promijenio žanr u povijesnu stravu i užas.

Priča se odvija u vrijeme južnokorejske dinastije Joseon koja je 500 godina vladala Korejom, od kraja 14. do početka 20. stoljeća.

Dok traju "igre prijestolja" i uključuju prijestolonasljednika, princa Changa (Ji-Hoon Ju), u zemlji izbija misteriozna pošast i pretvara ljude u zombije, žive mrtvace koji se hrane živima.

Interesantno je da je počast izbila u gradu po imenu Dongnae, starom imenu za Busan koji je bio sigurno utočište u "Vlaku za Busan".

"Ugrizi su mali da bi bili od vuka ili tigra", govori netko kad pronađe žrtvu zombija i s čuđenjem shvati "odgovaraju ljudskom biću" jer "koji bi čovjek grizao drugog čovjeka".

Likovi serije "Kingdom", logično, nisu mogli vidjeti nijedan zombi film ili seriju da skuže o čemu se radi, a zato nitko ovdje zombije ne zove zombijima.

Prebacivanje zombija u prošlost, daleko od modernog urbanog svijeta, pokazalo se pravom odlukom i gledatelj je sa zadovoljstvom teleportiran u povijest Južne Koreje.

Vrijeme i mjesto radnje dezodoriraju usahli žanr jer zombiji baš i ne ordiniraju tako često u periodu dalje povijesti u kinima i na televiziji.

U najboljim trenucima "Kingdom" izgleda kao film Akire Kurosawe ("Sedam samuraja", "Krvavo prijestolje", "Skrivena tvrđava", "Tjelesna straža") ili Zhanga Yimoua ("Heroj", "Kuća letećih bodeža")... sa zombijima.

To je ovoj seriji veliki kompliment, najveći zapravo, a treba pohvaliti i njezinu dovoljno izdašnu produkciju i uzornu ekonomiju.

Serija traje optimalnih šest epizoda umjesto deset i gotovo da nema kadra/lika/(pod)zapleta viška i manjka, otprilike kao prva sezona "Black Summer". Sve je koncizno, režija, priča, gluma.

Između redaka, "Kingdom" se bavi seciranjem zombificiranog južnokorejskog društva (kao i "Parasite") i pošasti njegove hijerarhije.

U ovoj seriji bogati se razdvajaju od siromašnih, ali i jedni i drugi mogu postati i postaju zombiji. Zombiji ne biraju, baš kao i smrt.
