Američki glumac i rođeni Havajac Jason Momoa (44) upućuje hitan apel svojim pratiteljima na Instagramu s obzirom na smrtonosne šumske požare na otoku Maui: Nitko ne bi trebao ulaziti na otok u turističke svrhe.

"Maui trenutno nije pravo mjesto za odmor", piše zvijezda "Aquamana" na prezentaciji i videozapisima razorne prirodne katastrofe koja je mnoge ljude koštala života. Prezentacija je naslovljena riječima "Ne putujte na Maui".

"Nemojte si govoriti da je vaša prisutnost na otoku koji toliko pati potrebna," piše Momoa. Glumac se želi zahvaliti svim ljudima koji su donirali. Dužnosnici također opetovano pozivaju turiste da nastave izbjegavati otok Maui. Iako se prvi stanovnici sada vraćaju svojim domovima, radovi na gašenju se nastavljaju. Također još nije bilo moguće napraviti konačnu procjenu uništenja.

"Našoj zajednici treba vremena da ozdravi, tuguje i obnovi se", nastavlja se u Momoinoj objavi. "To znači da što je manje posjetitelja na otoku, to bolje, jer su resursi iznimno ograničeni". Kako bi podržao stanovnike otoka katastrofe u njihovoj nevolji, Momoa, koji je rođen na Havajima 1979. godine, već je pozvao na donacije u dramatičnom apelu na Instagramu.
