Hoće li pomorski sektor u budućnosti zapošljavati više žena, pitanje je koje se sve više provlači unutar brodarskih kompanija, ali i organizacija koje se bave ravnopravnošću spolova.
Prema podacima Međunarodne pomorske organizacije, od ukupnog svjetskog broja pomoraca manje od 2 posto čine žene, a taj postotak uglavnom se odnosi na poslove na brodovima za kružna putovanja.
Portal The economic times navodi kako brodarske tvrtke imaju sve veću potrebu za novih kadrovima raznih profila, pa najavljuju kako će i ženama otvoriti vrata za ulazak u svijet pomorstva, u znatno većem broju nego što je to do sada bio slučaj.
Ženska međunarodna udruga za otpremu i trgovinu ili Wista, navodi kako treba stvarati ‘klimu‘ ravnopravnosti među spolovima, no svakako, uvjeriti žene da se odluče na pomorsku kariejru koja uključuje duga izbivanja od kuće, nekad i teške fizičke poslove i često negostoljubivo radno mjesto, definitivno je izazov.
"Prije Covida bilo je teško privući ljude", rekla je Elpi Petraki, novoimenovana predsjednica. "Sada je još teže posebice nakon činjenice da su u pandemiji mnogi pomorci ostali duže na brodovima jer se nisu mogli vratiti kućama. S druge strane, zbog napretka tehnologije, otvara se potreba za novim poslovima na brodovima, gdje se traže obrazovanje, te višestruke vještine upravljanja, a ne samo fizička snaga, kako se to nekad mislilo".
Spominju se i slučajevi seksualnog uznemiranja, a jedan takav doveo je do nagodbe. Naime, zbog jednog slučaja u njihovoj američkoj podružnici, jedna od najvećih brodarskih kompanija za prijevoz kontejnera, Moller-Maersk, svaku ženu koja dobije kod njih posao, raspoređuje na brodove gdje već ima nekoliko žena, tako da nijedna zaposlenica ne bude okružena samo muškim kolegama.

Hoće li pomorski sektor u budućnosti zapošljavati više žena, pitanje je koje se sve više provlači unutar brodarskih kompanija, ali i organizacija koje se bave ravnopravnošću spolova.
Prema podacima Međunarodne pomorske organizacije, od ukupnog svjetskog broja pomoraca manje od 2 posto čine žene, a taj postotak uglavnom se odnosi na poslove na brodovima za kružna putovanja.
Portal The economic times navodi kako brodarske tvrtke imaju sve veću potrebu za novih kadrovima raznih profila, pa najavljuju kako će i ženama otvoriti vrata za ulazak u svijet pomorstva, u znatno većem broju nego što je to do sada bio slučaj.
Ženska međunarodna udruga za otpremu i trgovinu ili Wista, navodi kako treba stvarati ‘klimu‘ ravnopravnosti među spolovima, no svakako, uvjeriti žene da se odluče na pomorsku kariejru koja uključuje duga izbivanja od kuće, nekad i teške fizičke poslove i često negostoljubivo radno mjesto, definitivno je izazov.
"Prije Covida bilo je teško privući ljude", rekla je Elpi Petraki, novoimenovana predsjednica. "Sada je još teže posebice nakon činjenice da su u pandemiji mnogi pomorci ostali duže na brodovima jer se nisu mogli vratiti kućama. S druge strane, zbog napretka tehnologije, otvara se potreba za novim poslovima na brodovima, gdje se traže obrazovanje, te višestruke vještine upravljanja, a ne samo fizička snaga, kako se to nekad mislilo".
Spominju se i slučajevi seksualnog uznemiranja, a jedan takav doveo je do nagodbe. Naime, zbog jednog slučaja u njihovoj američkoj podružnici, jedna od najvećih brodarskih kompanija za prijevoz kontejnera, Moller-Maersk, svaku ženu koja dobije kod njih posao, raspoređuje na brodove gdje već ima nekoliko žena, tako da nijedna zaposlenica ne bude okružena samo muškim kolegama.
